I heard that director of the show wanted to show how in Indian culture men always listen to their mothers. They are putting mother's intrests above their partners ect.
its not just about Indian men....but also India women out there....taking myself as an example, being an 18 years old Indian grl, my parents won't allow me to date until nd unless I've achieved smthng nd m capable enuff to earn nd live on my own... nd honestly I can date behind their backs cuz like they aren't 24 hrs around me but still I chose to obey them cuz yeah that's a cultural thing...but honestly its not with all Indian ppl who choose to obey their parents like many frnds of mine r dating without their parent's knowledge....so Indian ppl can be like Devi nd can even be like Des...nd don't wry bout ur english! it's good.
I'm with Emma. Although there are arguments against it, too, but at the moment I feel like it will be a 'neither-one-ending'. I'm Team Devi, Team Ben and Team Paxton, so this team thing doesn't matter so much to me. I am preferential towards Paxton in regards to a relationship, although I do think Ben and Devi would make a good couple as well. I actually think that might be the whole point. She unfortunately (and sadly her environment most of the time tells her that in one way or another) thinks she is this unattractive nerd, and that she is lucky to have even one person be interested in her. In reality she is really compatibile with a wide range of people with different personalities who are very much interested in her. Ben and Paxton are just this metaphor for this spectrum of people who await Devi throughout the rest of her life.

Exactly like hes still a kid who has to live under his mothers roof at the end of the day
So much happens in those episodes it feels like the season goes faster than the others. And i loved it nonetheless
