    Thanks for the video! How you describe your podcast, as not being perfect, is exactly why I love it so much. I feel it is always spontaneous and honest,. This makes it different each time and truly interesting. Keep on doing as you do and have a wonderful weekend.

    Hi Jana, I use one of the oil blends of doterra as a mosquito repellent. It is their Terrashield Blend.
    Thank you for your Time, your Love and joy you bring into the world. Please do not excuse for natural sounds. It is so lovely to hear all this in the background. This is what life is about. Enjoying it as it is and accepting and be greatful for the little „distractions“. Thank you again that your share all this with us 🙏🤩

    Happy midsummer Jana! For mosquitoes we use tropical strength repellent with lots of deet. We prefer chemicals to dengue. And these repellents work. Thanks for the lovely episode.

  • @NotKateHepburn
    @NotKateHepburn 2 роки тому

    Like someone else has mentioned we also use deet for mosquitoes. West Nile is always a worry around here.
    We have some celebrations for Midsummer. Music, maypoles, fire dancers, bonfires, and food. I have friends who celebrate their wedding anniversary with a maypole every year.
    I love summer for the simple fact that I love the long hours of sunshine.

    Oh, those pesky mosquitoes!!! You want to sit out on that beautiful day & what do you get? Feasted upon. Enough to make you nuts. Sounds like you tried all the nice ways to get rid of them (or I should say repel them). They just don’t get the hint. 😝 You could spray your yard or try a fan. They’re poor fliers and the fan should keep them at bay. It’s worth a try if you have one.
    Congratulations on 8K. You;re getting closer to 9 every day. Always love seeing you. ❤️

Just love the scene of serenity you created with the green grass, flowers, birds singing, pretty blanket, and your wonderful basket of skill and creativity. You are my favorite podcaster and I watch many. For those pesky bugs which shall not be named😉I use Napa Botanicals “Bug Juice” which contains an herbal pesticide mix plus a balm to heal and soothe any bites you already have. Discovered this at the local farmers market.

    Thanks so much for your dedication to getting a podcast out for our pleasure! I live in Nome, AK and we celebrate the longest day of the year with a parade, a staged old fashioned Western bank robbery on Front Street , a 5K run and a plunge into the Bering Sea. That's about as close as we get to a mid-summer celebration. We are about 120 miles south of the Arctic Circle and have 24 hours of visible sunlight right now. There is a sunrise and sunset, making it a 21 hour day, but you really can't tell it. We also have a lot of mosquitos and they are large. In Alaska we joke that our State bird is the mosquito. We love it when it is breezy outdoors. It keeps the mosquitoes off of our skin while we are berry picking. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and your podaversary. Enjoy your Mom and the festival. See you next time! The shawls are looking good. You definitely finish objects faster than me!

      Lip balm can help with the itching, it blocks the oxygen to the bite. I have only had the best luck with a breeze or portable fan. Sometimes campfire smoke will keep them away but it depends on how hungry they are. I was always attacked until I started having to take medicine for my immune system. Now sometimes others get bit first, lol.

    Hello again Jana. Thanks for persevering to get your podcast done. Always enjoy watching and listening. We don't normally celebrate Midsummer in Scotland which is a pity. We do have lots of tiny flying creatures called midgies which eat us alive too! Enjoy your celebrations and precious time with your mother and your family. Best wishes x

    Thanks for the episode from your nice destination! In Norway we celebrate Midsummer as St.Hans evening on 23.06. We have bonfires (usually by the sea) and barbecues 🌭🌭🔥🏞 Have a nice July! 🧶🌞👍
