This is one of the most commercial songs by Gojira. If you want to see the Technical Death metal side of Gojira, then please do Clone, Remembrance, Heaviest matter of the universe. If you want to see the proggy side, then do Flying whales, Gift of guilt, Oroborus, The Art of dying, Low lands, Toxic Garbage Island, Magma, Global warming, Born in winter.
I agree 100%, you should check The Heaviest Matter of the Universe (Clone and Remembrance are insane but doesn't have the production of the last one, btw sounds epic)
Too many good songs, you’re in for a treat! Starting with Stranded is great because you’ll get to see a whole spectrum of their sound and production... i feel sorry for your neck in advance
There's nothing commercial about this song, I don't know why people keep saying that. Maybe easier to listen to, maybe not as complex as some of their previous work but it's not like it was playing exhaustively on the radio or other media sources. You have to keep in mind that the Magma album and this song in particular is very personal to Joe and Mario, due to the painful event they had to go through in their lives at the time of its writing, so it's understandably different.
Can’t wait to watch you delve deeper... Gojira Tuesdays just made me reload the youtube app. And I subscribed. You have no idea what you’re getting into.
This is only scratching the surface of this amazing band. Stranded is from their newest album in 2016, and is very catchy and simple. Their first few albums were VERY different lol. I love all the albums, and depending on my mood, i may pick an older or newer one from them. If you want death metal and technical stuff, then the first 3 or 4 albums contain that. They got more progressive, groovy and melodic over time, but always maintained the subtle things that are a lot more complex than they sound. The drumming on the song The Cell from the same album as Stranded, is nothing short of incredible. Mario I believe is one of the best metal drummers on the planet, and has been for years. Try songs like Heaviest Matter of The Universe, The Art of Dying, Rememberence and Explosia by them. You'll be hooked in no time. Plus, they're one of the few bands that are even better live than the album. So much power.
@@sonicallydisruptive I was actually going to ask about all the Chappers guitars you have on your wall since your first of these new reactions. Are you friends with him or just a fan of his instruments and Dorje? :)
This is kinda different from the other progg-metal bands you've reacted to. I've never really checked out Gojira but this wasn't too bad. It's very different from Opeth and Dream Theater. I can hear various genre influences like post-punk, grunge, industrial metal and so on. And those chugs.. I can't help think about Fear Factory when I hear those fast machine chugs.
@@666Metalholic its arguable that Venom and Possessed created the sound for Death metal before Death was even created, but yeah Death imo influenced this sound into creating the entire subgenre

This is probably Gojira's most radio-friendly song, but yet so good. I love how Gojira breaks the rules and have their own unique band sound.
Very catchy.
