k.K's Priest - The Sinner Rides Again, Album Review
Many say that the lyrics are not the reason why they listen to Opeth. But the power of this song can be understood more deeply by those who have gone through such a situation. Mikael Akerfeldt was going through a divorce at the time. The song is musically beautiful, but these lyrics made me cry for two days.
First progressive band was Watchtower
That's right Watchtower is a metal Progressive band
I was pleasantly surprised by this album. Despite its short length, it's quite a bit to digest, but once you do... it grabs hold of you and demands its attention.
This whole album is perfect. Nothing I like better than early Dark Tranquility.
To me are TPE, Be & RL the top 3 from this great band !!
new Opeth thoughts?
You better believe they can play this live. I saw them in 2017 and they closed the concert with this song as an encore (imagine - a 23-minute encore!) after doing the entire Images & Words album plus throwing in As I Am, Pull Me Under, and even a cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets. All with Mike Mangini on drums. Defiitely the best bunch of musicians in my book...
Focus è un disco leggendario! Uno dei 10 dischi che porterei con me nella tomba
I love how as the song progresses the smile on your face gets larger. Listening to Sithu makes me smile uncontrollably as well. Food for the soul.
Thanks a lot!
Damn you feel it. Really feel it. This Band helped me through multiple layers of depression. (forgive my english if i misspelled something, i´m german). Its sooo nice to see how you enjoy that music. People that not only listen to, but feel Music like you seemingly do, are getting rare. You have my like.
I'm so excited for the new Album this band has done so much for me. Thanks for the Reaction and your thoughts.
I recommend 2 bands, Dvne and Hippotraktor. Both heavy progressive bands and my 2 favourite discovery’s of the past couple of years.
My ranking for the Queensryche albums would be🤘 15. Dedicated To Chaos 2011 14. Operation Mindcrime II 2006 13. Digital Noise Alliance 2022 12. The Verdict 2019 11. Condition Human 2015 10. American Soldier 2009 9. Q2K 1999 8. Tribe 2003 7. Hear In The Now Frontier 1997 6. Queensryche 2013 5. Rage For Order 1986 4. The Warning 1984 3. Operation Mindcrime 1988 2. Empire 1990 1. Promised Land 1994
ya...stupid
one of the most important metal albums ever made.
Discovering Mikael's pure voice and how good a singer he is, led me to love and respect growl as well.
🖤🖤🖤
Thanks for the review...I was waiting for it. Love the album, VOLA is an amazing band, my favorite one. We will not disband is for me the best song on this album. Greetings from Chile.
This album to me was a perfect blend of Applause Of A Distant Crowd & Witness. That being said Witness still stands as my favourite album from Vola followed by Applause Of A Distant Crowd then this album ahead of In Mazes. I would say after the 3rd full listen of this album it really grew on me. Still keeping true to their unique sound from start to finish they do a really good job balancing out the heavy and soft tracks. We Will Not Disband is up there in top songs of the year for me. Out of the singles dropped before the album I Don't Know How We Got Here I always go back too such a great song. Bleed Out & Hollow Kid the heavier songs off the album sound like they could've been off Witness and the epic chorus of Tray to finish off the album. This is my AOTY for prog metal 2024 unless Opeth's new album changes my mind lol. Great review man!
Tremendously powerful and atmospheric track by Swallow the Sun "Out of the Gloomy Light" - from the very beginning to the end it's a massive epic experience. Agree with everything Sonically Disruptive REDUX commented on this devastating classic.
To me, "Friend of a phantom" brings back that "Inmazes" and "Applause..." VOLA feeling I missed on "Witness". Production wise "Witness" was written to give new producer Jakob Hansen something to produce...rawer versions of songs to bring his style of producing to the VOLA sound. "Friend of a phantom" is (like all VOLA stuff except "Witness") again produced by singer Asger (Jakob Hansen Was responsible for mix and mastering) and in my opinion that brings back that feelings I had when I first listen to "Applause..." and "Inmazes". "Witness" is a great album, but "Friend of a phantom" is next level. Looking forward to see the band on Nov. 19th in Cologne/Germany
couldn't agree more, and that makes so much sense I was wondering why witness felt so different
Saw them in the early 90s in Panama City, Fl. Then saw them in Santa Rosa FL. Hung out with them after the PC show. they were running RC cars in the parking lot.
I’ve still got the t -shirt from the eponymous album
YEah
2:12 the transition and the tune that follows is awesome
reminds me of zztop Legs kinda
Pakistani people are the most talented people in the entire world
Brent solos just get better with each album. It's unbelievable.
Big Wreck one of my favorite band. Im from Russia.
Is this the only blast beat in an opeth song?
I just learned how to play the bridge groove and I'm shocked at how easy it is but the choice. The choice in note selection is obviously VOLA. As in, it's a perfect selection. This is the music I've trying to write for years. Back to the drawing boards but my goodness have they nailed it.
Mine: 1) Faith Hope Love (with which I discovered them) 2) King's X 3) Gretchen 4) Dogman Ogre and XV are at the bottom for me.
Turned the vid off at "Rush...70's crap". Bye
@@albinosquirlz Good bye! If you couldn't tell that was sarcasm.
I bought the vinyl. It's brilliant 👏
Oranssi pazuzu is so great.
Have you heard the new album from Rendezvous Point who came earlier this year? Can you review that album?
@@bjrnkarehilmen8406 I haven't checked it out yet. Kind of went under my radar. I know their last album well. I'll give it a listen and review it. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Iam so glad to find people reacting matthew good. Im from Brazil, and his band is for me my top 5 band of all time. Since 1999 when i found his music. So magic music and a lot of beautiful songs. Very good video.
I feel the same!
I'm obsessed with this album and this band. The way Oranssi Pazuzu is evolving is something to celebrate.
This song goes unreasonably hard
One of the best songs
dude YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING PERFECTLY. you sound JUST like me. gojira is absolutely freaking amazing man !! like you said its like they put the ABSOLUTE most effort into EVERY song. they actually have at least 50 songs that absolutely KICK every other bands hardest hitting songs a**, appreciate your reaction and review brother
i just wanna add, gojira is the best band to ever exist
The flow on this song's solo is NUTS.
This is really fascinating, I grew up with Ty and Dug is one of my best friends, I sang on a IV the highest harmony on go tell somebody and all the ty songs and have seen countless shows, thank you for loving KX❤
This is from a pretty awesome soundtrack. Mastodon, HEALTH featuring Chino from Deftones, Tyler Bates, Rise Against
Hey brother. Hope you are well? New Soilwork single dropped yesterday. You really need to check it out… 😉
@@Goldie1977 Yes!! I have checked it out. Really great. I was a little worried that without David they would lose the progy side. But this is really heavy while still being melodic and you can still hear some prog as well. Can't wait for more info on a new album!
The Warning. ...... Nuff said
They are fantastic. Saw them twice and it was profound.
Thank you, i wish DT got more hype and play on channels like this. Imo of the three original Gothenburg bands they are the best and frankly the only ones still doing it. Such a good album 🤘
