I have EDS and neuropathy and and and…. This is a huge tool for me. I don’t know how “to relax” my body bc it is forever compensating for my instability. This is magical. Bravo. Following. Grateful. 🙏♥️🙏
That feels different afterwards like a lil wake up call to my brain cells and my side neck side muscles l think are in shock.. theyve never been exercised before.
humming results in very long exhale and unusual engagement of muscles during following inhalation. humming while preparing food avoids shallow breath. I've noticed that shallow breaths and stoppage of breath occurs while preparing little tasks.. probably some breathing deficiency I have.
@@stopchasingpain Thank you for your work on your channel! I'll share pers exp that maybe could be helpful. In order To address my "sensory motor amnesia" I used to stroll in the woods with clubs in my hands while humming on the exhale. It helped to activate mucle throughout the body, esp posterior chain and lats, stabilize the head. Otherwise for me it's a subdued state of being stuck in right AIC pattern with "low life force", like falling asleep. Lot of computer time, and also OMD for extended period + being streessed out about life .
My sister shared your channel with me.Yay! This is the first one l have watched and participated with you. Thank you. Just subscribed as well. You rock! 🙌🌎
Really appreciate this tonight as I had a sore neck (and a headache) yesterday! Headache is gone due to neck exercises from yesterday evening. I still have tension & a bit of soreness in the sternocleidomastoid especially on the left side of my neck & hope it lightens up more later today . Thank you Thank you Thank you Perry! ❤
@@stopchasingpain it did & I was hoping it would come up in my feed again. This exercise combined with my own regular neck stretches & exercises helped me a lot. Just doing my workout now & waiting a bit between supersets
I found this extremely helpful when my neck was subluxated! Neck exercises & self massage are extremely important, especially when you don’t feel well & you’re waiting on your chiropractic appointment!
Definitely not. In fact you should maybe fish around for frequencies that resonate with muscles you're trying to hit in your face or neck that feel good.
No it's the engagement of the larynx and pharynx I'm going for here and change in shape of the tongue. The sounds help you get a longer exhale to relax the nervous system. As @starharvestofficial mentioned above its good to change sounds/frequencies to find what your nervous system likes.
@@stopchasingpain thanks! What I meant to ask was, like let’s say you’re singing note “C” on vooo, did I need to match your c or could it be any note? (I don’t actually know what note you’re singing, but when I do this exercise on my own, I don’t think it matched yours).
Would this work for facial pain syndrome? When you’re sympathetic is over stimulated for a few months? I have to be careful with any face movements as it triggers pain in the trigeminal nerve.
Are you opposed to jaw extending surgery? Our 15 yr old granddaughter is booked for it after wearing braces to correct an over bite that now makes her look like her chin is to small. I think its dangerous to her long term health & am begging her mom to stop the process. She has poor nose breathing. Please help me tell her mother something that will stop her from going ahead with the jaw breaking surgery. Thank you🙏💞
Doc, did you know that folks beating their chest while praying is mentioned in the Bible? Twice! Also shia muslims practice that tradition til this day collectively while grieving.
I love the eeeeee…. expression 😅 My daughter came to check on me … she knows my humming already.
hahahah doing it with your daughter will be even more fun

Exactly
I do this 3 times while on a vibration chair. Evertime i tap the sides of my neck the top of my feet tingle
Nice combination on the chair.
Reminds me of my old singing lessons
Basics never die. Excellent
Neck feels weak weak. I’m pretty sure I need this daily.
Will be sore for sure

Okay, well, update. Not a good idea. 😵💫
Hey doc would it make sense to do a double inhale beforehand?
Yes you can absolutely do that for an added bonus
