  • If you have a Stinson 108 that has that annoying fuel leak from around the fuel filler, this is a simple solution to keep fuel from staining the top of your wing. With a bit of sheet metal skills and these materials you can fabricate your own adapter ring.
    5" x 5" of 2024-T3 .04" sheet metal

The gentalmen when has made these in the past can be found on the Stinson club page on Facebook.

Curious how you dealt with non-PMA and or field approval; for these?

First of all this is not a major change to the TCDS and does not require field approval. Secondly this falls under hardware where no PMA is required. Hardware not only falls under Vintage Aircraft Replacement and Modification Article (VARMA) program, additionally guidance is given under AC 23-27 - Parts and Materials Substitution for Vintage Aircraft.

@@FreedomfixerFlying thank you so much for the help, the information, and the videos. I made up a batch of 10 and have been sharing them with my Stinson friends, I was getting some push back about the "legality" of installing these. Keep doing what your doing my friend. If you ever come to the east coast we will have to fly together.

Do you happen to remember the length of screws that you used?

I believe they were 1/2". With these dome nuts You want to be sure not to go too long as they will go through the dome.
