Omori is one of those games that you finish, then you can't stop thinking about for the rest of the week.

Abbi was an imaginary friend in the original Omoriboy blog. I feel she’s “the wisest” because she acted as Omori’s voice of reason, she even stopped him from committing suicide in the original blog. I suspect the reason she’s banished is because she suggested Omori/Sunny to face the truth, which goes against Omori’s entire existence.

I do find it notable that although Sunny’s something fades away, Basil’s only retracts back into him. He’s still going to have to process the guilt for his wrongdoing, and it’ll likely take far more time. His something isn’t going to leave for a good while longer I think.

As a reminder: the game does have heavy themes around depression and death, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of trying it.

As someone who has and is dealing with intense grief, chronic depression and social anxiety, Omori means so much to me. I never saw a game deal with this topic so well. I've dealt with grief just like sunny and aubrey, by lashing out and self isolating. Most of the time, those fits of anger are vilanized by media, and to see a game that doesn't do this, instead it validates your feelings, means a lot. I cried a bunch playing, first time being the cold soup that you find in a igloo, that's has a really earie theme. Honestly, Omori is a masterpiece, definitely one of my favorite games of all times

I could feel the pain and imagine Sunny's sadness at every moment and it hurts

Regarding Aubrey and the spiked bat, yes a spiked bat is equally dangerous to a knife, but it's shown she never uses it in battle, headbutting instead. It's likely the bat is an intimidation tactic rather than an actual weapon.

I like how Monger explained The Mari Accident. I've always thought about how Mari would be mad at Sunny for the accident. She loved him so much, and Monger explained how Sunny's push was an emotional outburst from a 12 year old. I found fansong for Omori sung by Basil (The song is called "Something behind you" if you were wondering.) and one the key lines is "Staring and Glaring at both you and me.". I analyzed that line in my mind. I kinda realized that Basil and Sunny probably thought Mari hated them for what they had done. I find it really hard to believe that because of how much Mari loved her brother and all her friends. She would've hated to witness what happened outside of Headspace, honestly.

While I feel as though Mother 3 has the far darker plot in terms of everything that actually happens within it, Omori is significantly sadder and scarier due to it being far more grounded and perhaps hitting very close to home for a lot of people in various ways. The game is incredible and I'm glad it came to fruition.

Fun fact (totally unrelated) but in Romanian, the word "Omori" roughly translates to "killing"/"kill".

Is there anything as chilling as something slowly turning into Mari's body, swinging slowly in the wind. None of the scares got me as hard as that one, genuinely it was so haunting.
