Other hilarious hints about sissel's identity: -him dead-ass not knowing: 1. what a gun is/how it works 2. what an execution is 3. what a kidnapping is 4. what a generator or fricking ketchup is (he just basically never asks "what is this?" so everyone assumes he knows. And then he accidentally shoots the gun bc both him and ray are animals djdmdmdmdm) -him basically never using people's names even when he knows them, instead using nicknames that refer to physical attributes/personality -the hilarious line about the rocker playing the guitar and how it must be for "expressing himself. Sentiments like "I'm hungry" or "I'm thirsty", maybe" Half of sissel's lines are hilarious AND make so much sense in context, it's amazing that one assumes this man is a sass master but actually half of the time he's being literally a cat lmao
A few more hints: - He likes dark and cramped places. - The guards in prison say you'd need to be a cat to see in the blackout. - Sissel always hates it when Missile outsmarts him. - Of course he doesn't know how to read - cats don't! - He doesn't know how it feels to eat a whole chicken, because a cat couldn't possibly do that in one go.
This is one of the only games where spoiling someone's death doesn't matter. Sissel: if you ever want to see me again just die Lynne: *ok!!* Sissel: *Wait Don't!*
The more people who play Ghost Trick, the better the world is. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I truly believe this is Shu Takumi’s masterpiece, which is saying a lot.
I completely agree, and that's saying something because i played literally all the Ace Attorney games that were avaiable on the DS before playing Ghost Trick (yup, even Miles Investigations 1 and 2), and i still consider Ghost Trick to be better than all of the better games in the series
I honestly hope Capcom remasters the game atleast for the Switch or something, cause the game definitely needs more love. I remember playing it all the time back in middle school. Really brings back some good memories.
THANK YOU This game is legit one of the most underrated games I've ever played. It has a plot which essentially plays 4d chest with the player only to then kick the door and show that you've been misled for the entire game. Not only that it has a killer sound tracks and it hurts me to not add targeted red head in any video I make because it's that good. Hopefully people are gonna give this gem the attention it deserves.
The story of this game was Written by Shu Takumi, the father of Ace Attorney, whenever he is at the helm of a game, you always expect a wild but tightly written story. He did a good job with the first 4 ace attorney games and Great Ace Attorney too. If you liked this, youd enjoy his other work alot too.
Trick Time! When I played Ghost Trick, I wound up getting so hooked by the plot that I marathoned it in one night. I was tired as all hell the next day, but it felt oddly appropriate to play it that way.
One of the biggest crimes coming from this game being severely underrated is that I have not seen Missile in any single “Best Video Game Dogs” lists ever. Missile truly is the goodest of doggies!
Missile is one great, dedicated dog. I legit cried when discovering the twist at the end (and went to hug my own dog). While not on console, the game is available for iOS. I replayed it not that long ago.
It has to be one of the best games I've ever played. Everything about it is amazing and going in as blind as possible is a *really* good idea. Also about 2:40, from some...experience, I can say it emulates really well. The mouse works the same as a stylus too. Really recommend it, it's amazing.
“This game will never be re released and I don’t have any way to play it, might as well watch the whole video to know what it’s about” -My dumbass last year before the February 2023 Direct happened
Really happy and excited to see a video on this game! An incredibly underrated puzzle classic, it makes me wish Shu Takumi did more experiments outside of Ace Attorney. The animation is simply gorgeous, too.
I saw this as a kid when visiting my game store and just picked it up cause it seemed interesting. It was really fun and reminded me of ace attorney, but I got stuck on the 3rd or 4th puzzle. Shame cause I liked this one!
I found this game in the bargain game section at a K-Mart a decade ago. I was expecting shovelware and ended up getting a hidden gem, I absolutely loved it. Glad to see more people talking about it!
"I'll even settle for a Ghost Trick port beyond the mobile port it received." YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN AWNSERED! It's coming out on Switch this summer, with shiny new graphics to boot!
I’m doing my second playthrough and god the ending is foreshadowed so beautifully (Implicit spoilers for the ending below the cut) - After saving Lynne for the first time: cat jumping onto blond dude corpse given narrative weight - Saving Missile: we establish that animals have ghosts - Saving Lynne for the second time and she looks like Cabanela for a second: we establish that ghosts can be mistaken about which body is theirs and set their ghost form according to this mistake (I’ll add more in edits as I get further in)
And remember everyone. Missile is, indeed, a top Pomeranian. Seriously, he’s arguably the best dog in all of gaming, such a good boy. I just hope more people play this game
I you loved Ghost Trick you'll probably like Ace Attorney too, specially the original trilogy. I think Ghost Trick is the overall better, more tighly packaged experience, partly because of how unique and special it feels, but both series have the same brand of charismatic characters and amazing writing, with great twists and reveals towards the end.
I found Ace Attorney nice altho it's even more of a trial and error game than this one, i spent way longer exploring around checking what to do than actually doing the trials because it's one of those games where you need to talk to specific character so one of the lines unlocks more content The characters are also too cartoonish at times, making it hard to take serious
@@zerokura this was published and developed by the people behind Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Dead Rising, Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Darkstalkers and of course more specifically, the team who did Ace Attorney. It is absolutely insane how versatile Capcom is.
Ooh yes!!! What a surprise to see you play this game! As you can see in my profile picture, I'm a big fan of this game, and this video was wonderful!! Still waiting for a Ghost Trick re-release to this day.
Who here is watching this in 2023? I always put this game off despite hearing good things about it due to my ds's getting worn out, and nobody to really talk about the game with, but I bought it on steam recently and played it with a friend and we loved it. So happy I finally got around to it, man what a journey.
"If I could do those things... I would have saved your life." top tier line, absolutely devastating emotional climax once you know what it means. this game is among the very greatest
I feel playing it in one sitting. This has been ome of my favourite ganes since I first played over a decade ago. When it was remastered, I stayed up for it's midnight release and finished it before my morning was over at work the next day
Ghost Trick is one of the best mystery visual novels ever made, for sure. However, I would have to say my all-time favorite would be a recent release known as PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it. It's a horror-themed vn which has just as much love put into it as Ghost Trick, if not more.
This game looks neat I also enjoyed the little bit of Zero Escape: 9 persons 9 hours 9 doors. at the start of the video and HIGHLY reconmend all three games for all their worth being one of my favorite trio of games.
I got this game on iOS on the recommendation of random internet person a few months back. I can honestly say it’s my favourite game I’ve ever played. The characters? Iconic. The puzzles? Every single one made me feel like a genius. The plot twists? Every one had me in awe. The music and sound design? Perfect I’m doing my second playthrough now and the foreshadowing is also impeccable
I remember checking this game out from my library and not putting it down for a whole weekend the story had me hooked from the first puzzle. The music, the characters, and the puzzles. Overall one of the few DS games I would 100% recommend. Even if you know the story from watching this video you should play it because the writing is really good, and the puzzles are fun.
God, this game needs a new port. It should be remastered on the Switch and for PC so more people know about this game. I'd be perfectly fine with them never coming out with a sequel if they just give this game another chance to be marketed. Fortunately, with the Great Ace Attorney selling like hotcakes lately, it may just give Mr. Takumi another chance to promote this underrated masterpiece again. Bless Missile the Top Pomeranian. He is my avi, my idol, and my greatest inspiration. Sadly he passed away back in 2018, but he lived a long and happy life with Mr. Takumi. I will forever honor him wherever I go. ...But well, if Capcom is ever up to giving us a spiritual successor to Ghost Trick with a similar level of quality, puzzles, and breathtaking story, cast, and music, I will die from the hype. But it's okay, I'll find some way to revive myself.
Ghost trick was one of those games one of my unwitting relatives selected as a present for 11 year old me at random. And it was by far the best random game I ever got (and I got a lot of those, cause perish the thought of asking what game I'd like) and the ending defs blew 11 year old me away. Fantastic story, compelling gameplay. Only downside was that it was so short, comparably
Thank you for making a video on this. It's probably my favorite game of all time. It has one of the best and most tightly written stories I have ever seen. I cannot sing my praises enough!
i screamed when i saw ghost trick in my recommended and it made my throat hurt more but its soo worth it! i love ghost trick. i remember when i first played it i was gonna name my dog after missile but we never did.
There are few things in life that consistently gives genuine smiles when I think about it and Ghost Trick is one of those. I'm one of the few who played it almost at launch and seeing anything that doesn't make this gem completely forgotten, like new people playing it, fills me with pure joy. To anyone who still hasn't played this game, please do it. You won't regret it!
Truly one of the best looking ds games. And one of the best written ds games. And one of the most interesting ds games. And one of the best ds games. And one of the best games. Honestly close to a 10/10, the only negative aspects of the game being the low aspect ratio (which is fixed by the mobile port) and some annoying sequences like the stealth section.
I've been interested of trying out this game for several years because of the praise I've heard and the charming art style. I knew barely anything other than designs of Sissil & Lynne and that Shu Takumi's dog (Missile) is a character. Honestly, even after watching this video and being spoiled by the story (I don't mind because I don't care about being spoiled), it makes me want to play it even more! I had no idea this game had such clever twists and turns while keeping up the mystery of the ongoing narrative so well, it's impressive. I'm definitely going to check it out. I hope they would port it on Steam so I could play it more legally.
This game truly deserves to be remastered on Switch, PC and newer consoles. Maybe with the Dai Gyakuten Saiban remaster going well, they make that a reality!
Not just the same team behind Ace Attorney, it was created, directed and written by Ace Attorney's creator, director and writer Shu Takumi. The man is an extremely talented writer and is really good at creating colorful characters, deep plots and compelling mysteries. If you enjoyed those "Ah-ha!" moments when answers clicked in the story, I highly recommend the series. Gameplay may not be on par, but the Ace Attorney series is really good at that text puzzle gameplay. As you read dialogue and acquire new evidence, if you're paying attention you'll start seeing the threads start to connect here and there, eventually leading to the solutions of the mystery. If you do play the series, I'd suggest playing them in order of release. Because the latest, the Great Ace Attorney duology, has got to be Takumi's magnum opus and by far the best games in the series. On that note, not all games were written or directed by him, so some may be of more dubious quality. Not bad, but they lack that certain spark that Takumi's writing and direction has. Hope this inspires you to give the series a shot. It's really something special and more people in the fandom would be nice.
Does anyone here remember "Nintendo Week" with your hosts Gary and (I wanna say Jenn, but it has been forever since) and Dark Gary on the Nintendo Channel for the Wii? Every week those two would play and demo out some games for DS. I remember this game being one of the demos that you can play. It ends after saving Kamila, which is a good bit content to show off how good the game is. While I never owned the game for my DSi, I did own it for my iPod 3rd gen alongside with Phoenix Wright. But let me tell you, I've played Ghost Trick more times than I have Phoenix. It was such an amazing ride through and through. That ost has no reason to slap as hard as it does. Watching has made me want to reply the game, but unfortunately it's not on Google Play store. I'm not sure if it's still on App Store for IOS... Either way, this game is insanely fun is definitely worth getting.
I remember beating Ghost Trick. It took me like a month to beat it. I think I played Ghost Trick around 2018-2019, I don't remember, and it's a fun game, even if I struggled at some parts
Very happy to see this! More people deserve to know about Ghost Trick. From the story, to the music, to the puzzles, it really is one of the best games the DS blessed us with. Though chances are slim, here’s hoping a sequel somehow comes out.
i made the mistake of getting spoiled in the comments accidentally while searching for a guide towards the beginning chapters 😭😭😭 i feel so cheated out of the experience of playing this game 💔
*SPOILER* I love cats, and I was giggling out loud for like half an hour when I realized I'd been playing the whole game as a cat. That, along with the ten-year timewarp being represented by a much more dramatic clock transition screen... man, that last chapter of Ghost Trick might just be my favorite single section in all of video games.
Was playing this a few weeks ago and I see this video, I was so excited that I immediately clicked, I wish this game would have a remake or s sequel just like TWEWY did another game with I love
I found Ghosttrick years ago together with my sister and we also played it Together. However at some point I got really creeped out from the game that I stopped playing and was just watching my sister then and when continuing it xD Took me a while till I stopped fearing that Sissle would one night come into my room to kill me x'D and I can't listening to a phone ringing the same way ever again after that game xD
i once tried making a list of my favourite vgm.. i had to bundle all of ghost trick together, because EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. is an absolute banger and otherwise literally 80% would just be ghost trick
This is one of my all time favorite games on the DS and I legitimately haven't made a fan of it in real life so far. Same for Hotel Dusk and Last Window and I love those games too. Ghost Trick is just the right amount of quirky and funny and sad and tense for me. I liked all the characters.
I just did my second play through of this game and I realised something. 4 minutes always seemed weirdly arbitrary to me. But the game is originally from Japan. “4 minutes before death” is a PUN
PSA: As of three months ago the iOS version IS BACK. It plays great and is an excellent way to play this game.
I can't see it.
It's not on Android unfortunately...
Just completed the game on iOS
GOOD NEWS, COMING TO NINTENDO SWITCH, XBOX ONE, STEAM, AND PS4!

- Of course he doesn't know how to read - cats don't!
- He doesn't know how it feels to eat a whole chicken, because a cat couldn't possibly do that in one go.

On that note, not all games were written or directed by him, so some may be of more dubious quality. Not bad, but they lack that certain spark that Takumi's writing and direction has. Hope this inspires you to give the series a shot. It's really something special and more people in the fandom would be nice.
The game also have some incredible twists at the end.
I REMEMBER NINTENDO WEEK. also its still on the ios app store!
I just played the Switch Remaster near the beginning of the month. It really was as awesome as you say.
Sadly, I haven't play the game so couldn't see past the spoiler alerta... But I will come again after completing the game for the first time!
I remember beating Ghost Trick. It took me like a month to beat it. I think I played Ghost Trick around 2018-2019, I don't remember, and it's a fun game, even if I struggled at some parts
This one was interesting. Especially how it ended. I liked it.
i played this game not too long ago, and it was great
GHOST TRICK NEEDS MORE PEOPLE TO KNOW IT EXISTS
THE GLORIOUSNESS OF MISSLE DEMANDS IT
This is one of my favourite games ever. I Sold most of my ds collection but still own my original copy from 2011
This game has the highest user score on Metacritic!
THE GHOST TRICK IS REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Jeez, Lynne died.
Oops, Lynne died again.
*Sees Lynne's corpse the fifth time* Dammit Lynne.
Next to 999 my favorite visual novel. Truly something special and I always appreciate people talking about them more.
Very happy to see this! More people deserve to know about Ghost Trick. From the story, to the music, to the puzzles, it really is one of the best games the DS blessed us with. Though chances are slim, here’s hoping a sequel somehow comes out.
Ghost Trick is fantastic!
And you NEED to play Ace Attorney series.
This is one of the best games ever made. I just recently found your channel now, but happy to you covering it
i made the mistake of getting spoiled in the comments accidentally while searching for a guide towards the beginning chapters 😭😭😭 i feel so cheated out of the experience of playing this game 💔
Lynne: oh no I died, again.
HOLY SHIT
HE DID IT
AAHHHHHHHH
MY LIFE IS COMPLETE
I finally played this game today! It was absolutely brilliant, I wouldn’t have known about it without your video.
*SPOILER*
I love cats, and I was giggling out loud for like half an hour when I realized I'd been playing the whole game as a cat. That, along with the ten-year timewarp being represented by a much more dramatic clock transition screen... man, that last chapter of Ghost Trick might just be my favorite single section in all of video games.
If you think about it, this game is the opposite of the Final Destination movies.
Just realized I didn't have notifications on for your channel for some reason, so time to watch this video at midnight with school in the morning
ITS REAL NOW! ITS REALLY REAL!
Was playing this a few weeks ago and I see this video, I was so excited that I immediately clicked, I wish this game would have a remake or s sequel just like TWEWY did another game with I love
Missile is not only the most important charcter in Ghost Trick.
*Missile is possibly the best dog in gaming as a whole*
I found Ghosttrick years ago together with my sister and we also played it Together. However at some point I got really creeped out from the game that I stopped playing and was just watching my sister then and when continuing it xD Took me a while till I stopped fearing that Sissle would one night come into my room to kill me x'D and I can't listening to a phone ringing the same way ever again after that game xD
Let’s gooooo more people talking about ghost trick
i once tried making a list of my favourite vgm..
i had to bundle all of ghost trick together, because EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. is an absolute banger and otherwise literally 80% would just be ghost trick
WAIT YOU DIDN'T PLAY THE ACE ATTORNEY GAMES???? Oh I'm so waiting for their own videos.
This is one of my all time favorite games on the DS and I legitimately haven't made a fan of it in real life so far.
Same for Hotel Dusk and Last Window and I love those games too.
Ghost Trick is just the right amount of quirky and funny and sad and tense for me. I liked all the characters.
It's a shame this video couldn't avert the fate it shared with it's subject of obscurity. The algorithm be a harsh mistress
never know it might get a sequal someday the meteor is still in the kitty chance for chaos by something dying near them
I just did my second play through of this game and I realised something. 4 minutes always seemed weirdly arbitrary to me. But the game is originally from Japan. “4 minutes before death” is a PUN
