Better to demonstrate the relaxing point between each round of this exercise. You kinda glossed over it, not giving yourself the full release into the surface that supports you. It wouldn't have sucked up valuable time & is a very important part of the exercise, partic a remedial one. Otherwise much thanks for your UTMOST useful vids, as these allow us to continue to be useful to ourselves & others around us.
Omg this exercise worked amazingly for my husband he was in so much pain from last 2 weeks none of the pain killers was working but as soon as he tried this exercise he’s already feeling better Thank you so much and God bless you
I went to a concert 2 weeks ago and stood so uncomfortably for so long for a band I didn’t even like and for a boy who barely talks to me anymore. I’ve been miserable both physically and mentally. This instantly helped alleviate 70% of the pain instantly after doing 15 reps on each side for 5 seconds each. I’m going to do this daily now and never take not being in pain for granted again
I am assuming you are a youngster since you mentioned a boy but you are very mature and intelligent lots of older people take their wellbeing for granted
OMGGG thank you so much. I’ve been dying with a sciatica pain for 3 months now. I’ve seen a lot of doctors and they recommended rest and muscle relaxants. Both never worked for me and the pain kept getting worse (my mental health as well cuz I wasn’t able to workout anymore) Stumbled across your video one night when I couldn’t sleep because of the pain and I tried this very exercise followed by the sleeping position you recommended and woke up with 80% lesser pain and I am so happy that I’m healing quickly. Try sleeping on your back (this is gonna be hard if you’re a side sleeper) for me elevating the legs with some pillows prepped up under my legs helped a lot. He also recommends that if you sleep sideways you need to have a pillow between your legs, this could help as well
I'm totally with you, doctor prescribed muscle relaxers, But I listened to my body and instead started doing a lot of walking plus stretching this really helped to relieve symptoms, everytime I start to sit for longer periods my sciatica seems to be inflamed immediately, but then I start walking whenever I can especially at work and this seem to help, but it will take time for me until I can work out again

I couldn't believe what happen with this movement!! First time for over twenty years I felt blood running in my right leg and it got warm. Pain is almost gone but miracle of miracles I can stand more then 5 minutes and I can walk. You are God sent.
I think an important thing is to find out what is causing your sciatica, if it's the way you're standing, or something you're doing that keeps reactivating it, it might take a long time to for any exercises to fix it, or not be able to fix it at all. I realised it was from the way I'd be standing, as I spend a lot of time standing still each day. Fixing the way I stood helped stop my sciatica recurring.

Five days suffering from a extreme pain in my right legs, yesterday when I got home from work was unable to walk properly anymore with the pain , searched and found this video , this morning the pain is not there , Than you Dr. ❤
@@Mary-Anne0 Ariana.. I began getting steroid injections.. First in my spinal column which helped with a little back pain... Then My right hip began hurting so badly that i began injections there. Now that helped! But i really believe my hip pain is aggravated by the sciatica on my right side. Everything started dominoeing once my left knee played out. Im working on the VA to give me injections on both knees.... Eventually i hope they will replace both knees. They said i had to lose weight and stop smoking. So i dropped 65 lbs still need another 40... I stopped smoking Jan 2023. Now to answer your question. Overall therapy helped build me up but my hip and sciatica won out. I never did try this leg cross. I suppose its never too late. Good luck to you.

I once injured my sciatic nerve by sneezing! I literally heard it pop and said "uh oh" lol couldnt bend down for almost a month. I WISH i would've went to the chiro back then. So thank you for this exercise.

Hey, Doc, thanks for all your great videos! I have an extremely hard time doing Bridges, so much so that I'm not sure it's good for me. So I'm thankful for your other instructional videos for piriformis and sciatica, which have helped me alot.
I do too.. I have arthritis in my entire spine, bilateral SI joints, and all my pelvis joints… Lots of muscles are really tight… I had to start with doing the first part… If you can’t do that you can always sit in a chair and start with putting one leg on the opposite knee.. Hold for 30 sec.. Baby steps..
I like a lot that this doctor didn't bother to show his whole face but only focused on what matters. Too many educational video creators are obsessed to put their face in center of the screen. Your face doesn't matter at all, we want to know how you do it.

Suffering from really bad Sciatic pain and the usual expected Piriformis issues. Sciatic pain is bad enough it has crawled down into my foot. This exercise immediately helped me get some much needed relief. Thank you so much! To add more info. I hurt my back on Canada Day a few years ago. Triggered a nasty round of Piriformis Syndrome which in turn pulled on the whole nerve in general and left my foot feeling very off. Not quite numb but tingly all over 24/7. Fast forward to recently and I've started a job that has put me on a lot of ladders and elevated platforms. My legs have been getting a crazy work out along side my back. And I may have aggravated the same spot again. Not back to 100% but from what I was experiencing this is an overall improvement almost immediately. My main issue is actually getting back into some kind of a shape that's not round.

I had back labour and was doing this instinctively while in the throes of pain. These movements absolutely work to take the edge off.
