The only time that i had any real pain was during passing water after the surgery. Other than that it was uncomfortable, and a strange numb feeling until the area began to heal. Dilation at first can be unpleasant, but you have to peresevere or it will be back to your surgeon. Good luck to anyone about to have or is recovering from surgery.
Thankyou I am at the very early stages of this process and I like your clear and concise way of explaining things. As a side I have your book "affirmed", great stuff, I know the surgeon will hate me 😅
There is a whole process to go through which depends on where you live before you can apply for surgery. First you need to see a doctor, then a therapist before you will be prescribed medication, then live for at least 3 years in some countries in your chosen gender before you can obtain letters from your doctor and therapist to apply for surgery. Without all of these, no surgeon will consider accepting you . Sorry if all of this sounds daunting, but all these stages are done to prevent you making a mistake that you may regret. If you realy want to transistion, go for it. and the best of luck.

3/10 pain wise with OTC medications. You need to be off work for 2 months then all is well.
