Love your style of video - no show, quick and to the point when you want to cook something vegan, you can watch this channel and you know you don't lose any time to a overcomplicated, oversaturated dish that you wont end up making anyway. Great content!! I will try this tomorrow
So underrated - we've used this recipe numerous times and it tastes equal to if not better than the hard to find vegan ramen you get in Tokyo! Thanks for bringing back the memories of Afuri and Ouka!
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. And I'm very very much impressed with you Sir. I'll tell you why.. 1) You focus the camera more on the food and the cooking process, and less on yourself. You let the food be the hero. You have genuine respect for the art of cooking, that's honesty, and the real attitude of anyone who is an artist of the art of cooking. 2) You have excellent presentation skills. You got a great presentation of yourself. You speak like a gentleman, with a very soft, relaxing voice and your politeness is very charming. And your natural advantage of a deep voice. The presentation of the food and cooking is marvellous too. 3) Along with the video, you've also written the ingredients, the amounts, and even the directions in the description too. That's brilliant and it shows that you genuinely want to help people learn how to cook properly. You're not commercialising yourself. You're being exactly how a chef should be like. Simple, straightforward and very helpful. Please don't ever change. I have accepted you as my teacher for both cooking and presenting. You have a new fan Sir. I'll be a regular here my Master ! 😊❤️

i'm a big fan of asian cuisine and my first time making ramen was this recipe i loved it and i also love your videos. can't wait for my ramen cook book
I made this ramen tonight and my daughter was quite sceptical bc I tried it already several times with other recipes but where never completely convinced about the taste of the soup. But this time she said I can make this one again. 🥳 I just added some tofu and some edamame, bc we like them so much. So thanks a lot for this great, easy AND quick recipe! I will try your other recipes soon!
I’ve just discovered your channel and Im obsessed!!! Love the asian food, but had never been confident to cook it at home by myself! Oh things have changed after watching this 😂I’m heading to the shop now and will be trying all of your vegan recipes! Next step for me is to buy your book, I’m sure it’s great! Thank you for your amazing content, please keep going🙏🏼❤️ Greetings from the polish girl 🇵🇱

@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thanks. I watched it already. In general, some ingredients are not popular in my country and hard to get, so I'm learning general principles from you.
Love your videos! This isn’t the first time I’ve used your recipes! I’m planning on making this for my four friends as well, would I just get 4x the ingredients for four people or is that too much?
Hey, I am trying to make it myself, can I replace kombu with something else? I cant seem to find it in stores nearby. Also is sake needed? I can't drink alcohol.
Could someone please help me out with the sesame oil. I know there are two types, the toasted and untoasted. How do I know which to use here and in other recipes who don't specify? Thank you in advance.
Thank you for sharing this recipe :) A question about storing used Kombu ... do you wait for it to cool then vacuum seal it then freeze it? How many times can one lot of Kombu be used again?
You’re most welcome! Great question, rinse the kombu under cold water, then store it in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 weeks. Hmm I’ve never tried freezing it before? Might be worth a try! ❤️🙌🏻👨🏻🍳
If I want to make this for 4 people, can I multiply everything by four and then add the ingredients that are added to the bowl to the broth pot and then serve?
Looks delicious but can you help me with this? I saw in other videos that you're not supposed to cook the kombu but to take it out when it hits the boiling point otherwise I could get bitter. And also are the mushrooms soaked before? By the way love the way you make you're videos, greets from Amsterdam the Netherlands.
Great questions! Yeah, I believe traditionally kombu supposedly gets bitter when you oil it however I personally genuinely don’t notice it - and I eat kombu and wakame seaweed fairly often 🤷🏻♂️ just personal preference ☺️ greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thanks for the reply! So basically I need to do what I always do with cooking like try it, play with it and give it you're own spin. Just when I decided to do you're noodle soup I saw that recipe of the creamy mushroom pasta! You're making it very hard for me Mr Will ;-) I'm going to do both and yes I have confidence! 💯❤🍜

Your a genius for showing us this .. this is amazingly easy and quick to do.. obviously i didnt try it AS YET but id like to know how long you took.

Hey, I am trying to make it myself, can I replace kombu with something else? I cant seem to find it in stores nearby. Also is sake needed? I can't drink alcohol.
My family likes this better than our chicken bone based broth. Thank you.
If we dont add the konbu, will seriously affect the flavor? Can we add something to substitute it?
Could someone please help me out with the sesame oil. I know there are two types, the toasted and untoasted. How do I know which to use here and in other recipes who don't specify? Thank you in advance.
Sorry for the basic question, but what is the Kombu, and why do we have to add(and then remove) it? What does it do?
All good! Kombu is a dried thick seaweed mainly used to add some salty “sea” flavour. It’s very common in making Japanese style broth 👨🏻🍳😊
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING thanks Will.
Why do you put the oil sesame seeds etc in the serving bowl and not in the stock? Does it make a difference to the flavour?
do you have to add the sake?? can I leave it out or is there another substitute that I can add for that similar flavour?
White wine or just a bit more stock ☺️
Thank you for sharing this recipe :) A question about storing used Kombu ... do you wait for it to cool then vacuum seal it then freeze it? How many times can one lot of Kombu be used again?

Good luck have fun ☺️
what can I replace sake with ? I can use any alchohol.
what can I substitute the sake and kombu with?
If I want to make this for 4 people, can I multiply everything by four and then add the ingredients that are added to the bowl to the broth pot and then serve?
That’s it 🙌🏻
The dried mushroom was soaked before use right? Or do we put it in dry
Where we can use left kombu?
What type of noodles are those, and where can I buy them? Love the videos!
You can make them 🙌🏻👨🏻🍳🍜 ua-cam.com/video/vPvLw5kDpm8/v-deo.html
Hello, would regular shiitake mushrooms suffice? (Instead of dried shiitake mushrooms).
Definitely! Tho the dried ones have a stronger flavour
would it be easy to turn this into Shoyu ramen and how
I suppose so! Try adding 1-2 tbsp soy sauce instead of the salt?
Looks delicious but can you help me with this? I saw in other videos that you're not supposed to cook the kombu but to take it out when it hits the boiling point otherwise I could get bitter. what is kombu?
plz tell me
It’s dried seaweed (the thickest kind).
What brand of noodles do you use? I've been looking for new ones online.
😅 these ones were noodles I made 😅
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING ohhh was that an invitation to come for dinner? 😁😂😂
😂well played
Can I use Mirin as a substitute for sake and rice vinegar?
Yup ☺️
Is there a way to substitute the Konbu?
Is there wakame seaweed where you are?
Hi Wil. Question: I always read that you shouldn't boil kombu since it looses it's umami and could get bitter. How come you boil it always?
Hey! Yeah I have definitely heard of it and I think the Japanese does that traditionally. Personally, I don’t notice a difference 😅
I’m on a strict diet if I leave the sake out will it dramatically affect the taste? Would it taste good if I add bok choy?
Yes yes and yes ☺️ make it your own
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Is there something that could be added to replace the sake? I don't drink alcoholic beverages, so have none in the house and never having ever tasted sake I wouldn't know what would make a good substitute.
CAn we make this with Soba noodles?
definitely
I don’t have sake Can I still cook noodles without it
For sure!
What if i dont have sake?
I’d try using some white wine maybe 😬 would be interesting 👨🏻🍳🙌🏻
That looks fucking delicious but I’m lazy so I just eat Pre made ramen cups
🤦🏻♂️
u dont cook kombu
Soy sauce?
i thought it was gordon voice
Is he a robot?
Nope
Any alternative to Kombu?
