A whole lot more about Innes Book of Records at neilinnes.org/ibor/
Such an amazingly underrated and underappreciated songwriter. Never got the international recognition he deserved
But the Rutle underground shall not cease in propagating his masterpieces for future generations!
Wonderful.
He had a great talent for blending humour & sadness, like the great Chaplin before him.
RIP Neil Innes. So sad.
Hit me one more time Neil! Not just a composer, musician, performer, phenomenon, also a veritable star in any firmament.
loved this man and his music so much ,bless you and thanks for al the pleasure you gave
That was SO great. I have an album version of this on vinyl lost somewhere but what a great arrangement this is. Plus I think the images are very poignant. The 'contemporary' images of the Butlin holiday makers now seem another world away too. It's really wonderfully done. Never been another series like this before or since......
A most charming arrangement and composition!
Revealing? It's positively risque!
The music world is a darker place, only his shadow remains.
And his wonderful music of course.
clever man
This is my favourite NI song (this arrangement) video is so good too, although the bad edit at 2:28 (audio) always sticks out every time I listen.
Never noticed that before, now I can't unhear it :D
Great title for a song...& think how many childish milionnaire superstars brit and yankee pop gave us over the years! Hooray for Innes!!!
