Amebix Make Their Own Swords - Practice Space - Episode 3
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- Amebix, England's crust-punk barbarians take refuge in hand-forged swords and mysterious, stone-carved glyphs. We caught up with them a few years ago and they were kind enough to let us sit in on sound check and have a chat in the green room.
Thanks!

The story about seeing the band name, carved into the wall of a police cell, is punk as fuck. Respect.
so fucking punk
i miss the troc bro
These guys are hardly "dressed up." They look like artists, which they are. One really has to hand to Amebix for performing lately. This stuff is vintage and it's not likely that the original members ever amassed a fortune from album sales allowing them to live posh lives like other British acts. And, at the end of the day, Amebix's themes / messages ( along with those of a lot of other 'crust' 'punk' acts ) are extremely relevant in today's atmosphere of governmental and corporate oppression.
They are real punx they can wear anything
punk is not a sound anymore. now it is a way of life. You can be metal, crust, doom, ska, dbeat and still be punk these days. A lot of what is passed at the warp tour for punk is merely sped up pop music with a guitar added.
Love this band! But “just trying to get clean.” That’s brutal.
saw the AMEBIX name for the first time , in the danish BLACKTHORN fanzine in which they were reviewing the ARISE album advance tape , as i was doing a local radio show myself , spider sent me one , and my passion for this band all began , here !!!
Thankyou for uploading this. It has been a trip to see/hear current footage a band that was hugely influential on the way I live my life. Really enjoyed this
Roy on drums was a good choice
this bands great, one of the few,
love these guys what a band?killer aint they just?
Punk isn't a phase it's an ideal. The way you describe it sounds like you were just into a fad.
Chers for this. Got into Amebix, Crass and Subhumans when I was a kid in the 80's me a little 13 year old when all my school mates were into Wham. Punk has always been a way of life for me :) ..... I always took Amebix as death metal before it became a genre
Thank the gods that be for Alicia M 💀🖤💀

@@n.a.palmer3761 it doesn’t sound like the regular version. It sounds different? Is it a different version?
@@kat66meow i only know of the original version of the song, but, i am guessing it sounds different as they are playing it live (i assume it is for this video) and 20+ years after its first release
@@n.a.palmer3761 well, there is the Demo version as well on the Monolith special album which includes demo versions of 4 songs. I tried listening to both but I guess maybe you are right and the live is different. Either way, thanks love. 🖤🐈⬛🖤🦇🖤⚰️🖤🤘🏼🖤
