About my father’s death:
I never knew my father during my first 20 years. He inserted himself into my life and proceeded to wreak havoc. I went no contact with him. He died but I didn’t know until recently.
One of his other daughters (I didn’t grow up with or know her) had tried to find me around that time, but I didn’t respond. She didn’t say my father was dying. Had she told me that, I think I would have given him the opportunity to see me and to say whatever he felt he needed to say.
The finality of death must be a scary thing, regardless of whether a person is toxic or healthy.
Showing my father that one final mercy is something I think I’d like to be afforded on my last day, were I to need that. It’s not that I think he “deserved” it, but I do carry some regret about it. Gnaws at my heart a bit, tbh.

@@JoshConnolly_FFW the abuse on children, especially boys/men from their mothers is so under reported or covered but extremely prevalent.
Coach greg adams has a great video on son husbands. Son husbands generally occur in lower income neighborhoods. Single mothers, public school to prison pipeline amongst many other things that are a result of a narcissistic abusive mother to the son.
