Update to a Table from the Dump?

This is the start of the season where the dump by my sister's cottage is truly open! There is a special little open sided building where people drop off items they feel others may want... thus saving them from the landfill. So... this is the start of my sister's finds for me.... this little table. (I know there were two but she managed to snag the one!! Competition is fierce!)
We're doing some staining, some paint colour washing and I'm using the Gloss version of the Fusion Tough Coat to show you that it really isn't particularly Glossy... a little more satin. I think it got its name simply because it's more glossy that the matte tough coat... but not a true 'gloss'. You'll see what I mean at the end.

Debbi here from Cincinnati! Wow, I just bought a pretty round pine table with turned legs for $4 from a garage sale. I sanded down the top to the raw pine and did a lovely white wash with chalk paint on the top. Today, I will finish it with water based poly. I think I may have a gloss poly….I have to check in my stash.
