Velvet Revolver is the band that formed after Guns And Roses and Stone Temple Pilots broke up basically most of G&R with the singer of STP Scott Weiland
No I'm pretty sure STP fired Weiland due to his drug habit basically just like Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
@@JoshSmith-wo7zw Ozzy was more about his alcohol abuse than drugs, as the whole of Sabbath were drugged up to the eyeballs at the time. Ozzy though was pretty much drunk all of the time, and kept failing to show up to rehearsals. As for Weiland, the band split so not really sure he was fired. He was though fired from Velvet Revolver.
Biss, lead singer is Scott Weiland, former singer of a band called Stone Temple Pilots(very good band from early 90’s with lots of hits). He had a very public battle with drug addiction, which the video is representing.
A battle which he, unfortunately, lost. He was fired from Velvet Revolver and ultimately ended up OD'ing. Tragic.
So sad to hear about his death and then to know he was here in my home state literally about a half hour from where I lived. Such an amazing voice, he's sorely missed!
So glad I saw STP 5 times and VR twice. Both shows were just fantastic.

Velvet Revolver is basically Guns N Roses with Scott Weiland, former lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, as the frontman. They’re a great band from the mid-2000’s that have become somewhat forgotten, which they shouldn’t be.

Yes, that is Slash from G-N-R. Other VR band members, Duff and Matt, are also from G-N-R. The singer is Scott Weiland, (R.I.P.), from Stone Temple Pilots. I've suggested this to every reactor I am subscribed to. And am happy, now, you are reacting to it.

Biss after Guns N Roses Slash formed Slash's Snakepit. They recorded 2 albums with different singers on each album. He also had a blues cover band called Slash's Blues Balls. In 2003 he formed Velvet Revolver with Duff McKagen & Matt Sorum , both from G N R , and Scott Weiland , lead vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots. Dave Kushner is on second guitar. From Snakepit check out the song Beggars and Hangers On.

Scott Weiland was one of my favorite frontmen. This supergroup was wild to me.
This album was incredible, some songs sounded like GnR songs, some sounded like STP songs, it was really cool.

I‘ve just finished reading Duff McKagen‘s autobiography (the blond bass player in this video and also a former member of GnR) and he was very close to the singer Scott Weiland. Both struggled with drug abuse but this song is really about Scott‘s ongoing addiction to heroin, which ending up killing him not long after this song came out. It’s so sad as he could see the mess he was in and how it was affecting his wife and kids and his friends, but he kept going back to it until it killed him. Tragic but all too common in the rock business
One of the best Rock songs of all time, Scott kills it and the video is so much like him.
I graduated with the base player from Stone temple Pilots and Bob and he was a very talented musician all on his own. Not a close friend but we ran in the same circles. Check out Stone temple Pilots you won't be disappointed.

What's funny is I think I saw the moment you noticed Slash. You kinda flinched a little like you picked up on something just as he flashed on and off the screen and I was like, "she just realized that's Slash". lol And not long after you paused it to say you thought that was him. Velvet revolver has other good songs named dirty little thing, she builds quick machines, slither. The singer has another band called stone temple pilots with good songs called plush, interstate love song, creep, sexy type thing, big bang baby, vasoline, wicked garden

Great song! I remember listening and watching music video when I was 12, and 13 on VH1, back in 2004, or 2005. Almost 20 years ago. When I first heard it, I loved it instantly. Lyrics are great, music is excellent, Scott sings it beautifully, and Slash nailed on the guitar. Guitar solo is fantastic. I have an impression you didn`t enjoy this song that much, it is a power ballad, maybe one of the last true power ballads, and it is of course a bit sad, but powerful and beautiful in its own way. Next song you could check out from them is "Slither", I`m sure you`ll like it more :)

First band I ever played in covered this song. It's still one of my favorite songs to play. Duff's bass lines never get boring whether it be Guns N' Roses or Velvet Revolver. I also suggest Slither by this band. Getting more into Stone Temple Pilots (lead singer's other band) would also be good for the soul.

I got to see Velvet Revolver at The Illinois State Fair in August 2005. The opening band was a St. Louis based band called Modern Day Zero. They had a pretty big region hit 'Sick Inside' from their album (as Modern Day Zero) Coming Up For Air. Itvwas a Great concert by both bands from start to finish

Slash was the guitarist for Velvet Revolver. Velvet Revolver also had Duffy Mckagen from GnR. This band went up until the frontman Scott Weiland died of a drug overdose.

You’re spot on on your assessment unfortunately the lead singer Scott overdosed and struggled with drug addiction his entire career. The rest of the band are formed Guns N’ Roses members. All that being said check out their other hit Slither.. great groove to that song , it’s one of their best ones ! Enjoy🎉
I think Slash had enough of the drama and bailed on GNR by '96. I think even before then, he had side projects of playing with other people. I think eventually in the 2000s, he ran into Duff and Matt from Guns at a thing, and they enjoyed playing together again. I think Izzy might've even been involved for a second, but basically they just decided to start another band together, and started looking for a singer. Others have said, but Scott Weiland was a very troubled but talented guy struggling with heavy addiction issues, who had been the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, a good alt rock band from the 90s. You should check them out. Somehow they got hooked up with Scott. They basically had one album, which was very good, and people were very excited about it for a minute, but Scott Weiland's issues got in the way, and eventually it fell apart too. After that, Slash has had an ongoing thing with Miles Kennedy, that I'm not too familiar with, but I think is worth checking out.
Stp was great, not too many bands of rock were as catchy and melodic.
You don't need to see Slash to recognise him, just listen to the guitar, it's instantly recognisable. Joking aside, the combination of the Gn'R members, and Scott Weiland was amazing.

Slash and Duff McKagan left Guns N' Roses in the late 90's, Matt Sorum was fired shortly after they left. In 2002, Slash, Duff, and Matt formed Velvet Revolver with former Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland and rhythm guitarist Dave Kushner. They released two studio albums before Weiland left to rejoin STP, basically putting an end to Velvet Revolver.

Velvet Revolver was short-lived and not relatively well-known. It was after grunge and well after Guns and Roses heyday. But damn.. what a great collab. Loved it!

After GnR broke up, eventually Izzy, Slash, Duff and Matt from GnR got jamming together again. They decided to make a new band. Izzy bowed out, as he’s a recovered heroin addict. They got another guitar player named Dave, to replace Izzy, and were lucky enough to get Scott Wieland to sing. They were pretty popular. Scott ended up overdosing and dying sadly.

You are right on, the song's lyrics are about then lead singer Scott Weiland's battle with heroin and its toll on his relationship with his wife, model Mary Forsberg, unfortunately at the age of 48, he died of an accidental drug overdose.
