Who's holding the people that rehired GB in the first place accountable? Who the f*ck rehires the coach you just fired (in the wake of incompetence and scandals no less)? This is what people should be talking about. Clean house in the entire federation. Don't let Gregg be a mere sacrificial lamb.
You're giving them too much credit, they didn't fire him. He left the team because his contract ran out, they didn't want to can him because he was their guy. As far as the "scandal" they figured (and were right) they could ride out the media attention because they knew there weren't enough people who cared.
An then ppl tryna say Tim Weah was wrong to knock the dude out
They didn’t fire him, his contract ran out. It’s clear that you’re just jumping in on the riot rather than actually knowing what’s happened.
@@hhbentee They should get Tim Weah to sneak KO punch Greg Berhalter till he leave lls. When he gon learn he aint wanted
MLS has control of US Soccer and they have Bankers and business people running US Soccer.

Tim Weah not his fault he the Knockout ENforcer for US Soccer

@@PacmanBrunnerNever reLACKS.
US Soccer has a Matt Crocker problem as well. He hired Berhalter and the guy doesn't even live in the US. He's been attending the EUROS instead of the COPA games.
Probably so he can watch good football...Venezuela and Canada is a bracket game in Copa today, Portugal vs France is a bracket game in the Euros today, which one would you want to watch? Copa is a joke in comparison, no offside technology, no extra time, pitches have been bitched about every game. I wonder why he is over there?
I don’t expect anything to happen, we’ll all be disappointed lol
No way they bring him back, fifa will make them bring in a good foreign coach, they want to continue building the American market, just like with 1994/ bora,
I agree. And at this point no reason to keep making videos about it unless they announce something.
He’s not going anywhere.
This team wont do nothing til lTim Weah back on the team thats most important the yt ppl tryna kick him off the team
Yep thats the hard truth. I've been saying it too.
It is pretty glaring that Matt Crocker is only looking at the $$$. He doesn't give 2 craps about the team in terms of performance and improvement. He needs to go.
US, Jamaica, Bolivia ranked worst in the copa in Pts and GD. remember this when USSF says there's nothing wrong here
You forgot Paraguay.
They played the "it will go away thing" before. They let Berhalter's contract lapse and pretended to do a comprehensive search for the next coach. But it was just a delaying tactic to allow things to blow over so they could keep Berhalter. And that action is part of why people are so angry right now. The vitriol isn't so much towards Berhalter it's towards USSF.
If Berhalter isn't fired I won't follow the national team any more. I'll follow the players with their club team but I won't watch an USNT games. Because it won't be the national team. It will be the team of a small group of people who have control of the national player pool.
If Berhalter had any respect for US soccer he would resign
Gregg wasn’t even a good mls coach
Nepotism is alive and well...all Berhalters out of USMNT
Nepotism got him the job
Greg wasn’t even a good second division of Sweden coach
always known as a losing mediocre below average coach
The problem starts with the federation. They are interested in growing the MLS and not the national team.
and MLS is like university soccer. Lmao. Absolute trash beyond belief
Let’s put it differently. It’s more important to have a decent pro/rel league, than a national team at this point in time!! How else do you expect to attract the world’s best players to the US? …A decent league will lead to having good home grown players!
Kasey Kepler is saying the same thing that Klinsman said. They messed up when they fired Klinsman rather than hold the players to a higher standard back then
Exactly. Bruce Arena is the Roy Hodgson to Greg Berhalter's Southgate, as the Trinidad game was to Arena as Panama and Uruguay are to Berhalter and Hodgson's Iceland disaster to however Southgate crashes out I AM POSITIVELY TERRIFIED AS TO HOW SIMILAR THIS IS.
After last night, Ecuador has already fired it's head coach. Yeah- less than 5 hours after the loss. That's commitment to wanting to become a better team. USSF is unserious when it comes to men's soccer. The appear committed to the women's game, but not to the men. I'd be happily surprised if you can address this seeing that you're owned by Disney.
That’s crazy because Ecuador lost to Argentina a really good team
So true. At this point, the federation only keeps the men's team around to finance the women through their "equal pay" act. The women got more prize money from taking 50% of the men's prize money in the 22 World Cup then they earned from winning the 2 previous Women's World Cups. So much for equality. Maybe if the men didn't have to give away half their money they could afford a better coach.
@@ZeroFamilon Yup. The argument that the USWNT lost to an under 15 year old boys club team comes to mind. I think the great, under-discussed topic is if USSF leadership is more concerned with a 'women's first' agenda. No one does, because they are concerned with being called 'sexist,' but I'll bet that most male fans are concerned that it's what's happening.
@@picodegallo1959 It was FC Dallas u15, imagine if it was Barcelona u15.

The great Maqwell once said that every fan base “hates” their federation. And until we start to “hate” and pressure our federation we won’t get any significant change. I think the United States federation should’ve taken these comments on the chin to really understand that something needs to change NOW cause we have a little less than 2 years.
Maqwell the goat ngl
Maqwell mentioned
Major nations get it far worse and don’t turn off comments
I've never seen an organization hold its clients in such contempt as US Soccer. The hiring of Berhalter as the brother of an executive in US Soccer, then his rehire against the public opinion of doing so and after a particularly surreptitious and convoluted "search". On top of this, there are the price gouging ticket prices for friendlies and official matches in shameless money grabs which keeps out average fans and limits crowd sizes (and support) in US matches, something they don't do for the women.
What exactly does it take for them to hear the voice of the people?
ESPN the lead on real soccer news in the us. Saying things that actually matter
You’re being sarcastic right? The fact they are even asking this question shows how inept they are and how they pander to US soccer and dare not be to harsh. . Any other country the mainstream media would be investigating the corruption at the top and people would be calling for heads. The media would be breaking into federation head quarters to expose the 💩 show. Instead we have Fox and ESPN soccer asking whether we the fans think there should be another direction! 😮😂😅
It’s infuriating how bad the media is in the sport in the U.S. . We the fans deserve better.
@@mackdeen7021 serious. Find a better primary network in the us. You can’t .

It’s long overdue, big changes all around.
The stupidest thing was firing him then rehiring him as the best possible choice. I wont even root for the USA in the WC if that guy is still in charge.
They didn't fire him. His contract expired and then they gave him another one.
I don't imagine it will matter much, if he's still the coach, they won't have but 2-3 meaningful games anyway...
Herc is spot on. Fans everywhere are calling for GGG head and if they dont fire him and get a strong coach (klopp, potchettino, ect.) The usmnt is going to go into the 2026 wc with people rooting against them. Like the uswnt did. Fans are tired of not being heard and i will boycott this team and its sponsors till everyone in top positions are fired. The nepotism, greed, hubris from the federation has been holding is back for decades. Its time they know that we arent dumb and we know exactly who is responsible for the lack of progress in this country. 💩 is gonna hit the fan and all the casual fans wont be able to save the ussf.
How would they get someone like Klopp, Potchettino etc, it’s just not realistic
@thechameleon2636 you don't know that. Nobody knows what would or wouldn't be attractive to a coach about a job. Be it money, short contract, destination, international coaching, etc. The usa isn't some small country with no financial backing and terrible players. We have decent players and a lot of money. We are also hosting the wc. We have low expectations, which means no pressure on these coaches. A successful wc to most American is getting out of the group and probably the first round of the knockout stage.
Klopp is burnt out from the daily grind, and the pressure of coaching in England. Potchettino went on a large hiatus before taking the Chelsea job. Lasted one year with a terrible squad because of the pressure of English media and unrealistic expectations. He was constantly having to defend himself. It's not like that in america.
I guarantee you 1000% I could get Potchettino to coach the usa. It just come down to money and if the US is willing to spend.
@thechameleon2636 True, They're at the top, but they should at least try and see if they are interested. If not, there are realistic candidates such as David Moyes, Pellegrino Matarazzo or Hervé Renard that would make fans happy too. The key is to get a competent coach, not an insider from USSF such as Jim Curtin.
“I believe that we will win”…anyone remember those good ol days? I miss em 😂
The Bradley back passing was the worst, never should have played at that level.
Money talks. If money walks away from the USMNT then they will listen. You vote with your money.
Pay to play is the foundation of their federation. Soft rich kids.
The USSF is just delaying saying anything waiting for this to deescalate to announce they’re keeping GGG.
YES
.. WITHOUT ANY HESITATION.
Had the USMNT won Copa America this time, nobody would be criticizing Berhalter or the USSF.. which would make sense, right?
So, why doesn't make sense to criticize when you exit from the group stage?
FANS react to the results i.e. they make concrete judgments.
Of course we have the right to doubt the USSF because officials make mistakes and many times they fix their mistakes too late or none at all.
To ignore the early exit from Copa America when you're the host, no matter what country we're talking about, is a fatal mistake for the Federation of that Nation.
Nah even if Berhalter won, it would have been more pressure for him to perform consistently, and Berhalter and consistency is like oil and water. I’ve been watching this team since I was like 10. I remember being more competitive under Bob Bradley and Klinsmann. And they had way way less to work with.
Klingman was the person to bring the team to the next level. They screwed up getting rid of him.
Klingman was not a good coach. What did he do for the German national team? Nohting.....
@@wilster1492 Klinnsman is not a tactics guy. that is why he had Joachim Loew. Klinnsman as the Technical Director would be ideal. A real European coach would complement him well.
What they screwed up is hiring Gregg after the momentum Jurgen had.
Neither the men’s team nor the women’s team have been likable for a long time. There are too many a$$holes on both teams.
Hopefully the vast majority of the problems on the ladies team have been moved on from...That group was horrid.
The expectations being to get out of a group with Panama and Bolivia aren't exactly high. We don't need to bring expectations down, we need to hold them to account.
Thats so true though only in America can you win a tournament in sports and consider yourself a world champion
When you're the only country that plays the sport, you're allowed. MLB, NFL, NBA... The US pioneered those leagues. Even now the best of the best play here. It's appropriate.

Herc had the mic drop moment at the end
At this point I think they are just embarrassed to admit that rehiring Berhalter was a bad choice. Now they are trying to force him to succeed as if that’s even possible Lol. Time to cut our losses and replace Berhalter
Not to be political, but this is eerily similar to how we're stuck with Biden. Both had their haters all along, then both with a performance that's embarrassing to the country, then both facing a consensus that they have to leave, but both being protected by their parties seemingly due to some type of fear of change.
The USSF and the country as a whole have a lot of similar problems right now.
As a person who was in disbelief when Greg first got hired, I'm loving this 😂

I think he, at the very least, has taken accountability AND his actions are the direct reflection of Coaching...or the lack thereof.
Berhanter is just good for concacaf standards not for WC or copa américa.
He is only good at home for Concacaf standards. Away he is a disaster. Nonetheless he needs to go and soon.
WNT, "goodwill"? Are you serious?! They're disliked and maligned for legitimate reasons.
Herc, Kasey… y’all need to call a spade a spade. Berhalter has a low level of tactical acumen and cannot manage the big name stars to get the most out of them. You’re invested in this… use your platform to get this guy out!
I would love to see guys like Pulicic “take a break” from the USMNT until leadership changes. That would force change in a hurry.
Yeah....but, those guys are part of the problem. They LOVE GGG. They have it easy under him.
The USSF has absolutely no interest ever, in fielding a quality team.
I wanted so badly to like this team
Honestly, this feels exactly like after the 22 WC. They are just going to wait till the day the Olympic squad starts their campaign so that we are distracted. Then they will announce that after a deep review and advanced IQ test. They have decided that Berhalter is a super genius and that he is the best person in the world to lead us through the 26 WC. And that he has graciously agreed to carry on with his tenure.
cept they promised an answer w/in a wk. & the oly. r not til the end of the month. but stil plasuible i suppose ...

US Soccer, as a whole, needs to be retooled from the top down....
CK - ‘we’ve been punching above our weight class?’ Sorry, what’s our weight class? Are we not supposed to be heavyweights after all these years? Come on! We’re punching well below!
If they were gonna fire GGG, wouldn’t he have been fired by now.
sadly, that is the prevailin thought now :-(
Matt Crocker the technical director for the United States Soccer Federation needs to step down. Matt rehired Gregg Berhalter and is directly responsible for the demise of the US men's National Team.
Berhalter is not going anywhere. They still haven’t fired him
i so dont want u 2 b correct ... :-(
Why are we still talking about this? It’s crazy that he hasn’t been fired yet. Any other nation would’ve dropped this loser already.
The CEO of US Soccer had to be called back from UEFA's Euro 2024 right in the middle of the contest that he’s hosting! How weird is that…
Days later and still posting this question that we all know the answer to. Focus on what the potential managers you most want. The rest has already been said over and over at this point.
better reiterate it again and again until the USSF has to fire him, because they might just keep him anyway and then the US is fucked for their home WC.
They are way too talented to be mediocre. Players have to perform but the manager has to be someone that gets the best out of the players. BERHALTER MUST GO!
They clearly have no clue.
They talk about the nation's weak performance and never understand what they have been seeing for 20 years.
It will matter when no one shows up to the games. 4 friends and I were waiting to see if when came in first or second place to book our trip to Las Vegas or Glendale Arizona on Saturday. Literally everyone we know clowns us no stop for believing in the usmnt.😂
Dunno if anybody from espn reads these comments, but I'm a member of supporters groups for the Columbus Crew. There was a poll put out, spurred by a conversation with a Cinci fan, asking if fans would prefer to win an MLS Cup or World Cup. The vast majority of people picked the MLS Cup, and I think it was the same for Cinci supporters. That tells me how much USSF has failed growing the game and failed to present a positive, competitive image to its fans. We've already had multiple MLS Cup wins, but our fans feel more valued and listened to by a corporate MLS office, owned by an oil tycoon, than their national team's leadership, and have grown a stronger connection to it. I extremely doubt Man Utd ultras would pick another prem title over a world cup.
wow. that is REVEALIN. & an indictment of mls fanboi dweebs. [present co. excluded] :-)
If no changes are made people should stop going to the games
Fire Matt Crocker!!!
Why is this even a question?
Pretty numbers don't mean much..
Let us check the Titles list:
2021 CNL
2021 Gold Cup
2023 CNL
2024 CNL
But exited Copa America in group stage, and stupidly I might add.
The CNL or CONCACAF Nations League is NOT to be compared to Copa America, which is extremely useful if you are ambitious in the World Cup competition.
The Gold Cup same thing.
This doesn't mean that CNL and Gold Cup are nothing, but again if you're ambitious to win the world cup or make a great appearance, you have to first move in on Copa America.
National Teams who dominate Copa America one year, have a greater chance in the World Cup, and it's the same exact comparison for Euro or CAF winners.
You have to become number 1 in your Continent before you can be a serious contender for FIFA's world Cup. No world cup champion has ever skipped on winning their Continent's top competition which the Copa America is for us in the United States.
You have to win Copa America to become a real contender for FIFA World Cup, it's not a rule but it's a right of Passage. So we're judging Mr. Berhalter on realistic basis and on the Ambition level of the FANs.
In my book, you have no business hosting Copa America if you have no plans to win it.
And if you exit it from the first round, then you're not up to the challenges of FIFA World Cup.
Based on Gregg's appearance in Copa America, expect to do as bad or maybe worst at the World Cup in 2026. This is a common sense view, a logical conclusion.
Of course miracles happen but what's the point of thinking you have a great coach or any coach if you're going to win on the basis of... "why not" ?
While Copa America is much better than any CONCACAF tournament, it doesn't have a lot of value in it.
Winning the Copa America trophy or doing well in the tournament doesn't guarantee the team will do well in FIFA matches.
The United States fell victim to this. They were the only CONCACAF team to make it further in Copa America 2016 and did well against CONMEBOL teams. Guess what happened to the USA the year after that.... that same USA team failed to qualify to the World Cup 2018.
Have been totally out on US Soccer since they kept Gregggg. Glad I did it, bc they're still a joke. Not worth the emotional investment

Delusion all the way up and down plagues USSF - Keller says "We've punched above our weight for a long time." Really? Is second round at the WC as a ceiling "punching above" our weight, 30 years after we hosted the World Cup and started investing significantly in player development?
What is going to make US fans happy? A World Cup? That will never happen as long as our best athletes grow up playing football and basketball because of the money they think they can make. Like Casey said, we are good but not great, but we will never be great so just deal with it. Honestly, most nations would kill to make a World Cup and get out of the group, and that seems to be where we’re at. Why is that not enough? Oh yeah, because we’re Americans and we think we’re the best at everything.
You haven't been following the team for a long time if that's your perspective. We're looking for improvement. Under GGG, we look the same just as we did 3-4 years ago. We shouldn't aim for mediocrity, especially with the WC 2 years away.

They serve only the casual mass of supporters and not serious American soccer fans.
Not the coach you strait dissed taking a team that isn't as good to the semi-finals lmao ussf ineptitude on full display
I think this US program has a micro problem and a macro problem.
Micro problem is Gregg Berhalter tactics and system is clearly not getting the best of this team. This team has no firm identity when they compete. They struggle to beat Jamaica and Panama on home soil.
Macro problem - This golden generation is not as good as the hype it has been getting. Most of the roster are squad players in Europe and Pulisic would just be “a guy” in any top European or South American National side.
If the US want to be seen as equals to the Top 10 in the world , the team needs at least 5 players on the level of Pulisic .. not just 1.
We lost to uruguay by one on a poor call by the referee, get some perspective.
I disagree. This team is by far the most talented the US has ever produced. They haven’t been successful but I think that’s down to the coaching. They’re not top tier but I think they’re on the level of teams like Turkey or Japan who can make deep runs

US Soccer is exactly that US Soccer. It doesn’t think like a fútbol, futebol,or football federation.
Only if they are interested in winning something other than the Gold Cup. This is the Golden Generation so maybe winning then Gold Cup is the only goal.
