    Episode 33 of the rapid rating climb has another Vienna Gambit which our opponent declines and we get a typical Vienna Gambit / Vienna Game position with a massive clamp on the d5 square. I won't spoil too much of the game here but the vienna game with opposite side castling can get kinda wild, hope you enjoy!

      Cheers bro, we shall see what happens in tomorrow's video. 1800 can be a tough rating to get out of because I think more positional chess comes into play around there when people become tactically sharp

      @@ChessCenturionhi man. I'm 1950 and still going higher in rapid, I'll probably hit 2k within the next month. I did have a question though. In blitz I am so horrible despite being so proficient in 10-0 rapid. Its not that time is the issue as I'm not flagging but my style of chess is positional so I know the theory really well. When they play the wrong move, I know they have made a mistake but their counterplay comes so fast with pawn storms on queenside when I Castle kingside. I don't lose material as I am good enough to stop it but I sacrifice my structure and get into tactical binds where its objectively equal but harder to play on my end due to backward Knight rotations and sacrifices. If you have a solution, please let me know as technique wise and time wise I should be 2k+ in blitz aswell but have this issue. Thanks..

      Do you think it's a style issue? Since positional chess is more suited to longer games and tactical to shorter games? Might just be that you need to improve tactical vision or perhaps try to play more aggressive even if it's objectively a bit more dubious

      @ChessCenturion also I have looked through the series and a lot of it doesn't seem to be able to self-cure the problem necessarily. Because of the type of openings you play vs what I play it would require an additional explanation or even better a game between us so that you get a better idea how better. Since you are at the series near 2k there are less of us so this would be useful

      @ChessCenturion but how would that work exactly. My opening is strong but very defensive and long term. My tactics aren't the worst but I do play out of tactics as much as I can.

    My guy, you just got a subscription. You’re very well spoken and I’m intrigued to learn from you. I’m slightly behind you at about 1820, but the way you articulate things makes me feel like I’m a total novice. I need to start thinking through things more deeply as you do. I am going to probably switch to 15/10 versus 10 min as that may help.

    There's no way by absolute coincidence we have the exact same repertoire, I watched some of your other vids and we both play the Vienna, Caro and Slav

      Cheers mate, the whole Tyler1 thing is really strange in a good way. No clue how he's doing what he's doing but if its attracting more attention towards chess then I'll always consider that a positive thing like with the queen's Gambit and pogchamps, just cool to have more people involved in chess 🤷‍♂️

    Super satisfying checkmate, feels great to get but bittersweet when the win comes from a 1 move blunder from the opponent. Well played to him!

      We've all done it and all had it done to us so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose

    Lol no the Vienna Gambit not unfair. .It's totally based on the player you're up against. It can actually get pretty uncomfortable for white really really fast against a strong player. It's a great opening all the same

      @ChessCenturion  4 місяці тому +1

      @@ChessCenturion World is full of deception and it's boring. You know what would be new and exciting is someone who tells the truth. Vienna game is a great beginner opening. How is that for a title? I haven't looked but I bet you won't find that title on UA-cam.

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  4 місяці тому

      I mean yeah but I play it quite successfully at my level and even OTB, I beat a 2200 classical player with it so I'd say its a good opening generally

    • @walterbrownstone8017
      @walterbrownstone8017 4 місяці тому

      @@ChessCenturion Yes that's the point! Nobody on UA-cam straight up says here's a great opening for you e4 repertoire and here is a list of openings that I'm going to cover in future videos to give you a complete repertoire for e4 that will work all the way up. I can't find one channel that methodically covers a repertoire rather than just random openings.

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  4 місяці тому

      I mean I understand what u mean, I feel like if you watch a lot of my videos then you can see my whole repertoire but admittedly it's not as condensed as an opening course would be

  • @Uhnonimaus
    @Uhnonimaus 4 місяці тому +1

    Hmm, perhaps continue yet slow down so that way you can try and maintain the level of explanation, maybe switching to a 30 minute gameplay. Id like it if you went down too though, because i feel like im picking up a lot on the themes of the openings like you keep saying and thats been carrying me to a certain point in my games but several times i feel like i get in a winning position and just dont know what to do sooo yeah i feel like if you did do lower rated you could show some tricks you wouldnt be able to get away with at 2000
