CORRECTION! This growler is actually pretty well insulated having a double-wall construction to keep your beer cold. I have tested this thing many times with taking beer to friends' homes and it has kept the beer cold over the course of 3 to 4 hours.
I've definitely had some issues with mine. Exact same model. As you said the lid creates a very good, tight seal. Once pressurized it becomes very difficult to open. I've also had issues with the locking pin becoming stuck and the tap handle not coming forward. Apparently this happens with more malty beers causing some interior moving parts to become sticky and not move until you run warm/hot water over them. Aesthetically it's beautiful. Functionally it still has some issues. And for the price, it shouldn't. Cheers!
Awesome! Hope it serves you well. No complaints about mine yet other than the tap sticks if not used for a bit. It has a standard tap and that is pretty common on all standard taps.
Yes, I recommend chilling the ukeg down in the fridge, then pour your chilled beer (can or bottle) slowly down the inside side of the keg than as you get close to the top, just slowly pour remaining beer right in.
Hi, Tink. Nah, I run unscented oxyclean through it and then follow up with a fresh water rinse. Then fill with some brew. Great if you have a brewery nearby or a bar that will fill a growler. It’ll keep beer for a couple of weeks for sure. Cheers!
From Spain, a question, that maybe is silly, can be filled with homemade beer (which can not get good pressure) or can only be filled with tap beer. And for how long does it keep the beer cold, the uk needs some pre-preparation to keep the drink cold. Sorry, Google translator, I do not speak English.)
Yes, you can force carbonate your own 1 gallon of homebrew in it according to the manufacturer. It will also keep beer from the tap carbonated. It will keep beer cold for up to 2 hours before needing to be cooled again. I have had some issues with one of the seals with only two uses so I will be reaching out to Growlerworks about it. Cheers!
I was looking at a sodastream, I don't drink soda anymore but I have this "carbonate everything" thing going on. Would you suggest this? It's significantly more attractive than a soda stream and really like the copper still look. Thank you.
I have never tried to carbonate in it to be honest but I’d imagine it’d use a couple of CO2 cartridges to do it. It is possible and if you want the drink on tap then I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible. Works great for beer.
I have never kept beer in it longer than a couple of days but you definitely can keep it carbed up as long as you don’t pop it open without the CO2 nob being on.
Every time I watch your vids ,I go internet shopping right after lol...……..What do I tell the wife now? I know it is for coffee ..cheers thanks for sharing......
Yeah no one is telling us that griller can make root beer soda pop. I like to buy one but I have a few questions I like to see it done actually. Now about this if you make a video you probably be one of the a leader in the category cuz we are looking at this growler and or Finding Nemo UA-cam information with this Pacific growler for soda pop. One of the questions what happens when your CO2 cartridge Fizzles out and your water is not fizzy enough can you swap that out take the cap off and repressurize it and when do you want to do this. I don't even know how long it would take to force carbonate. I wonder if one can carbonate fruit punch from The Jug and Kool-Aid from The Jug yes I know that they make syrups
It can force carbonate beer so I do not see any reason that it would not do soda. Same concept, different beverage. Once the CO2 cartridge has expired, just make sure its nice and cold, then slowly loosen the cap to bleed the excess pressure, pop it off and replace the CO2 cartridge. You definitely can replace the cartridges without issue. I would let it force carbonate for at least 5 days and then test the carbonation in a pour.
Why did you say it's not insulated? It should be a dewar flask == Double wall vacuum. Please check yourself for accuracy or you will loose credibility for making patently false statements.. Perhaps I should make a video involving a thermometer poring cold beer out, once an hour over 8 hours..
I stood corrected on another comment. I’m assuming folks read the comments but I still believe it will need to be kept in a cool spot based on my experience with it thus far. I have no issue with being corrected. :)

Oh wow! Well, we shall see how it plays out for me. I’ll definitely follow up later with an updated opinion either way. Cheers!
Mine arrives tomorrow! Stoked...great review

I just got mine can’t wait to use it!
I still use it to this day. It’s great for taking beer to some friends.
Oh man the one gallon force carb thing may have sold this to me (not that we get these in the UK)
Much better with the tripod 😜. I’d like to see if it would hold carbonation when it’s half full, and a week old.
🤷🏼♂️😜
It supposedly will keep beer for 2 weeks.
A, B, A, C, A ,B, B (blood code for Mortal Kombat) Cannot believe I remember that since 1992... the things we retain in memory haha.
Yep! Sega's graphics and audio sucked for that game but at least it had blood lol
this is what i wanted to know if you could force carb with a growler/ mini keg.
Nice little film
Nice review
Soon to be home brewer
Thanks again
What a t-shirt!🤘🏻🤘🏻
So if you dont own a bar, is there a way to fill this without loosing all the carbonation?
Yes, I recommend chilling the ukeg down in the fridge, then pour your chilled beer (can or bottle) slowly down the inside side of the keg than as you get close to the top, just slowly pour remaining beer right in.
hello can i fill ukeg with bottle of beer instead of draft beer?
Absolutely. It’ll work fine with bottled beer as well.
Thanks mate 👌
That keg is SO cool! I love it. The look is so beautiful! I might need one. Do you run no rinse cleaner through those between brews?

Just a Heads up I've found replacement CO2 Cartridges on eBay for 11.99 for a 10 Pack!

@@TheBrewQ thank you for the response, great review btw I watched the entire thing and didn't even realize lol
When you're storing your beer in it for a couple weeks, do you need to keep it carbed up? Or do you only turn up the dial when it's ready to pour?
I have never kept beer in it longer than a couple of days but you definitely can keep it carbed up as long as you don’t pop it open without the CO2 nob being on.
Can you make a mixed drink in there and then tap it from that
As long as you use a CO2 cartridge to push the liquid out, should work fine for that.
Please reply on the comment below just a brief comment would be helpful

Tell her I’m so sorry haha! Right on! Sometimes we think we have all we need but then realize we don’t lol 😬. Cheers!
