    Just got this and used it for the first time. Worked as designed, was a real hit with my friends. Beer stayed out for hours and it stayed cold and every once of he beer was well carbonated. My PicoBrew's new best friend.

    Can you purge with the co2 to get the air out?

    I tried to infuse a premade cold-brew coffee and oat-milk product with nitrogen using my Growler and it has brown gunk caked all inside the glass tube. How do I remove or clean out that tube? I'm using de-scaler tablets but it's not getting all of the gunk out.

    Just took mine apart bc the tap/lock froze up and cleaned, freeded up. It needs lubricant. Mineral oil? Vegetable oil prob no Gd for many reasons and don’t know if Gd ole 3in 1 is suitable. Don’t want to taste that. What does GW recommend?

    Do you turn off the gas before you take the lid off when cleaning?

    Could the CO2 be replaced with a NO2 cartridge, for a stout? Any idea if a 16gram NO2 would be enough to dispense the beer?

    Should you run the warm water through the tap to clean as well! Or just a nice quick rinse inside the main unit should suffice?

      I just got one and was wondering the same thing? If so do i need to pressurize the inside? Can i take the top off if i close the valve and use the existing cartridge to pressurize? Saw you posted this two years ago, hopefully you figured it out since :)

    I'm a homebrewer. Have you tested the unit carbonating fresh beer out of the carboy? If yes, can you make a video geared to homebrewers. I usually bottle condition my beer.

    Guys...beautiful piece of functional art, but wish you had addressed the issue many of us are struggling with: too much foam. Half a glass of foam ruins the beer. I have let it settle in the fridge for 2 hrs after bringing it home after filling it, made sure the handle is fully pulled forward, dialed up less pressure (6-8), etc. Still way too much foam. Can you shoot a video on how to handle this? Thanks.

    Hello, is it possible to carbonate my homemade beer (fermented beer + sugar syrup) in this Growler for 2 weeks, then add a cartridge of CO2 to pour the beer?

      No. If you try to carbonate any homemade beer, Sleepy Joe will send the IRS and FBI to arrest you because you are a Trump supporter!!!

    The issue I see is the Co2 doesn't last. Right from the start, so not the seal.

    How do you vent the air out of the headspace after filling it and putting on the lid? When filling a corney keg and hooking up the CO2 the air in the headspace need to be driven out which is done by venting.

    • @jayc4283
      @jayc4283 9 років тому

      Clearly there is no provision for that. But If a good full fill is done, the amount of O2 in the headspace is minimal, Especially if you are displacing bubbles as you screw top on. (probably next to none at that point.)
      But technically you are correct, less is better. But even with a reasonable venting on a Cornelius, it's really a dilution of the ambient air trapped in the headspace. so a shorter venting, will dilute the ambient less.
      My bigger concern is the inability to see how much foam is left in the pour, so if you capped it with 2"-3" of foam, you lose some beer and carbonation. Less a problem with carbonation if you add pressure right away before it self equalizes.
      A attentive bartender will be able to tell when most foam is displaced, but having seen hundreds of see thru growlers filled, not all bartenders are good at filling growlers. And if their in house system is "off" it's even worse.

      Micah Rhea Dee Cee The volume line was designed so that, when filled, there would be no head space and thus no O2. An easy way to ensure this is to "cap" on the small head of foam that may rise above the volume line when filled. Some foam may seep around the cap, that can be wiped off, but it's made of CO2 so you can be sure the inside is oxygen free.

      Micah Rhea Any of the places I get my growlers filled purge the growler with co2 prior to filling. This purges the air out as the growler is filled. If they do not do this where you get yours filled, you should ask them to do so. One tap with the co2 supply directly to the tap should do it.... Got a 128 on order for what is now a November delivery...happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me....

    Will the CO2 cartridge have enough gas left to push an additional 64 oz. after you've dispensed the beer? Thinking you could push 64 oz of cleaning solution through via pressure to ensure a good cleaning. Thoughts?

    • @PerfectWerks
      @PerfectWerks  9 років тому

      Tanner Brethorst Yes sir there will be some CO2 left in the cartridge that can be used to pour warm water and/or cleaning solution through the tap, albeit less than 64 oz at 10 psi.

    I am so excited to get mine!!! However I wish that you guys would have made them in the USA, You will have nothing but problems dealing with a Chinese manufacture, I know from experience. Let me know when you need advice to make these in the USA where slave labor is no longer allowed.

    As much as you put into advertising and promotions... I cannot understand why do you do not say this can be used to make soda root beer soda grape.. and soda strawberry.. is it just not capable of doing such a thing as force carbonation.. I mean I am troubled because I like to purchase your unit for these purposes.. because it does fit the refrigerator.. I am troubled because you don't mention this small selling point even nephew are beer gurus you would want to sell your product as a capable product for soda pop.. I cannot even confirm and say this project that you're trying to sell me is used for carbonation.... Or is it just used to conveniently pump the beer out of the tap... If so I don't why not put a small pump on your device and use a regular air.. ultimately you guys are not getting the most out of your advertising..
