Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 36 cookies
Calories: 123 kcal
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter (cool, but not refrigerator cold)
1 cup powdered sugar, plus more for coating
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups White Lily all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups finely chopped pecans
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Cream Butter and Sugar: Use a mixer to cream the butter and sugar together. Add the vanilla and salt, mixing well.
Add Flour and Pecans: Slowly add the flour to the mixture, ensuring it's well mixed after each addition. A thick dough will form. Add the chopped pecans and mix well.
Form and Bake Cookies: Scoop out 1 tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball, and place it on the cookie sheet. Ensure each dough ball is about 1 inch apart from others. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
Coat with Powdered Sugar: Allow the cookies to cool for about 5 minutes. Then gently roll them in powdered sugar while still warm. After they cool completely, coat them in powdered sugar again.
Store: Store the cookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a week. They can also be frozen for longer storage.

Thank you so much. I have always wanted to know how to make these. My estranged mother used to make these and I love them.

Yummy 😋
It’s also called Egyptian kahk (ka-ha-k). It’s from our ancient Egyptian recipe, thousands of years ago and we use to make it in Eid celebrations after Ramadan .
My favorite! I love them!
I love making these I double my batches and make big balls and everyone loves them
I made these and they went fast! Excellent. Thank you!
You should put the ingredients in the discription box instead of going to another website
I totally understand. But doing that causes folks to miss all the great tips and tricks I include in the blog post. Plus, that site is how I pay the bills.
These are so delicious 🤤
My favorite cookie!
I make these cookies every Christmas. I live in Southwest Florida I always refrigerate the dough at least a half hour to an hour before baking. It’s impossible to keep dough cool here.
Hi! Thanks for the recipe. Question, are they supposed to be soft cookies? My first time trying them out, but they absolutely taste good! ☺️
@@waveats9211 These are a little more firm and crunchy - more like a shortbread cookie.
@ oh ok! Thank you so much! 🤗
こんにちは。とても美味しそうです。レシピを教えていただきありがとうございます。😍
Could we just get the flour in measurements of weight instead of the arbitrary volume?
You dont need to wait around for him to answer that, you could just look online to see what 2 cups of flour is equivalent to in grams or whatever unit you're wanting to use
Well, 2 things. One, volume and mass don't convert. Flour packs and sifts, and there isn't a way to consistently get the same mass in each scoop. Two, I'm commenting to encourage both video creators and home chefs to use the more accurate measurement.
@@lightsabr2 oh I'm sorry, I mistook you for people out there who can't seem to look up their own information
