  • The Bubblebee Lav Concealer for DPA 6060 includes three pieces of metalwork in each pack: Two clothing guards and one metal lock.
The clothing guards keep fabric away from the capsule and prevent vibrations from transferring to the rubber and then the mic capsule, isolating it from vibrations and shock.
The metal lock is designed to fasten the capsule in place using the two holes in the back of the rubber Lav Concealer.
In this video Poul explains how to use the metal parts correctly.

Curious, how important are the locks? I feel like the 6060 is in there pretty good. Were there issues with it coming out of the mount? I usually tape down the lav cable a couple of inches below the mic head (when possible) for strain relief and can't imagine the mic getting dislodged unless some very aggressive actions were taken. (New to 6060's and using this mount so just trying to wrap my head around them). TIA

Hey Brad, it depends on how much force might be applied to the cable. If you’re handling the cable we’ll, like it appears you are by taping it down, then you can forego the lock, sure. If there is no option to tape the cable down close enough, or the scene is particularly rigorous, we’d recommend using either the lock or the extra fabric guard in the back of the Concealer to be on the safe side.
