Sometimes the only reasonable thing to do is to go to combat, over and over again. Tell us which commander likes infinite combat phases? Also which infinite combos should we tackle next? *Corrections:* 0.48 - I say the ability costs 2 generic and 2 red. This should be 5 generic and 2 red (as shown in the video). 7.19 - I say you cast relentless assault before the combat phase ends. This should be done after your combat phase in your main phase (as shown in the video).
A version of the rebirth of the relentless scribe combo that i personally like better goes as follows: You need to have Savage Ventmaw on the field and have imprinted Savage Beating under Elite Arcanist the previous turn. Now you simply attack with Savage Ventmaw and use 5 of the 6 mana to cast Savage Beating, this untaps all your creatures and lets you do this any number of times. You also net 1 mana every time. I call this combo Savage Arcanist.
I found another infinite combat combo: Yore-tiller Nephilim with Breath of Fury, and 2 other creatures. Prefereably the creatures are either evasive themselves or you have some way of making them evasive (Deepchannel Mentor is good). Then, every time you attack you can bring one back from the graveyard with Yore-Tiller, then sacrifice the other to Breath and move it over.
I love that there is a budget magic channel. I only play kitchen table random stuff and it is amazing having somewhere to go for that kinda thing. Just have to say thanks!
Not really sure if all cards I'm about to list are under $1, but I found this infinite attack phase combo in my commander dragon deck I bought and modified: Savage Ventmaw + Hellkite Charger + Curse of Bounty + Commander's Sphere (or... really.. any permanent that gives at minimum 1 mana) With Curse of Bounty on target opponent, attacking said opponent will cause all non-land permanents you control to untap. Knowing this, Savage Ventmaw, Kellkite Charger, and your artifact, or permanent that gives at minimum 1 mana, need to be on the battlefield. Attack with Savage Ventmaw and Hellkite Charger. Savage Ventmaw gives 6 mana (3 green, 3 red) when attacking opponent. Hellkite Chargers skill needs 7 in order to perform the reset. Funnel Savage Ventmaw's mana into Hellkite charger, along with your artifact/mana producing non-land permanent. It pays for the reset, Curse of bounty triggers, and your non-land permanent untaps, causing you to just attack, funnel mana, and do it all over again. Discovered this by chance when I was modifying my Draconic Dommination 2017 commander deck. I put in Kaalia of the Vast to put out Dragons, Demons, and Angels faster with no cost and attacking.
Hellkite Charger works with alot of things, there is also a mana creature with vigilence, you can attack and tap it to net one mana. Sword of feast and famine(probably too expensive) and bear umbra untap your lands.
I note that all of these assume that no creatures die while attacking. This seems like a bit of an issue, as if one were to die your infinite combat would be over
i'm just tossing this out there.if you run white green you could use two or more enduring scalelords and anything that causes a +1/+1 counter to be placed on a creature. after that the scalelords will bounce off each other getting as big as you want. then you could combine them with any abzan creature for your choice of lifelink, trample, first strike, deathtouch, etc
With the lighntning runner i found another way to do it however it is quite slower, i run an energy EDH deck with Riku as the commander, there's an artifact in the deck that says when a creature enters the battle feild gain an energy and that you can pay 4 and tap it retutn target creature you control to your hand, now useing Riku you can play lightning runner and clone it until you have 4 of them. This takes a lot longer and it sounds like it would never happen but the deck i run is basicly set up so that i wait and let everyone else battle it out while i gain enough energy to win, the result ends up being that i have enough defence so that no one can really deal with me so the combo is able to go off and i win by Cyclonic rifting (spelled that wrong) and using the combo
Number one fan of the chanel ! :) love the videos specially the budget commanders , i already recuest it before David but i would like to see an animar budget deck . Greetings and a big hug from Dominican Republic
Okay, I just want to mention a few things about this list, since quite a few people seem to think these are pretty awesome. Just to mention it; I haven't been playing magic for all that long, especially compared to some people playing for 20ish years. I do think I have a reasonable grasp on it, but if I'm missing something, feel free to call me out on it. I'm also mainly playing edh, which impacts at least 1 point I'll make. Then again, seems like at least some people seem to be taking these as suggestions for edh, so... Anyways, let's just go through them, 1 by 1. I'm also not gonna mention obvious things like a single counterspell/removal stopping every single one dead in it's tracks, because that's usually the case for most combos. These are especially easy to hit though and probably leave you with a bunch of cards not doing much on their own. I'm just gonna focus on the actually used cards, as you could improve these rather easily, without even necessarily going over budget (like using savage ventmaw in combo #1, instead of the enchantment, allowing you to tutor for each creature since you're in green anyways. does come with a higher manacost, however) The first one is actually not quite that bad, compared to the others. However, it's entirely stopped by a single blocker with at least 2 power, which can just kill off Radha. And, honestly, compared to removal/counterspells, a 2 power (or 2x 1 power) blocker isn't really all that rare. You also need to already have Radha on the field beforehand, or have a way of giving her haste. Hellkite charger ALSO has to deal combat damage, so if there's a flying blocker, well, you're out of luck. However, you can run Radha as your commander and are in green, so capable of tutoring for Hellkite Charger. The second isn't quite as easy to stop, since they only need to attack and have doublestrike. so they're safe from everything below at least 2/3. Besides that, as soon as a single one dies to a blocker, no more infinite. The third one is... well. Requiring a 1/1 vanilla to deal combat damage to a player is... not exactly reliable. This also requires us to already have used the Doomsayers' effect the turn before. The forth is actually comparatively stable, given how it at least requires a 4 power creature as a blocker, which is not as common. It does however, require you to run 4 different colors. While this does allow you to run a variety of tutors, letting you get to your pieces quicker, it also requires a lot more manafixing and a rather high amount of colored mana to play the pieces in the first place. It does however require a whopping amount of 5 cards (besides a pretty hefty amount of mana), so it's not exactly reliable to get onto the field in the first place. The last one runs into the same problem as the 3rd, as it needs to actually deal combat damage to a player. Granted, a 3/3 isn't as small as a 1/1, but since it doesn't have any evasion, a 1/1 blocking it, will interrupt the combo just fine. It also requires 4 cards, which puts it just ahead the 4th one, but still behind the other 3. All in all; don't include these to actually win you the game. While they will win you the game *if* they do go off, that's probably not gonna happen all that often and most of the time you'll be sitting there trying to piece your combo together, with everyone else just freely murdering you. Unless you run those without focusing on them at all, which leads you to now and then draw cards that aren't really doing much on their own, and rarely getting the combo together AND having it actually go off. As some kind of afterword; "Nice, double combat every turn! But can it go infinite? Here are 5 infinite combat combos using only cards of $1 or less: " This being the comment on the reddit post that actually got me here... It going infinite was the whole point of that post, so yes. It also only took 2 cards, neither of which are all that expensive (about 2 bucks each, I think), so alltogether probably still around the same price as some of these combos. Acting like any of these are even remotely superior (either in playability or even cost, though that changes over time) to the one on the thread just makes you look ignorant. For anyone interested, this was the mentioned reddit post: www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/88ehh1/combo_combat_celebrant_helm_of_the_host/
We never claimed any of the combos in this series to be efficient, effective, competitive or superior to any non-budget combos. They are just examples of budget ways to go infinite.. We even claim at the end of each video that they are not fun to use in actual decks.
Thanks again for more comboic ideas, gonna try to implement a few of these in some of the EDH decks I've been brewing around. Just to let you know that there's a typo on your patreon logo which spells ".../budgetmgtdecks" but it shouldn't be a big of a deal.
lightning runner has double strike... which gives it 4 energy counters per attacking lightning runner each turn... not just two, because it says you get two energy counters per time you attack. a positive to your excess energy counters could be to play a creature in a deck with this combo, like scrapper champion that could use that many energy counters to ramp up p/t...
3) Ashling's Prerogative, Fervor, Emblem of the Warmind? Mass Hysteria is not under the dollar I guess but those first two options are more likely to stay in play than creature.
Hey I really like the video, but I think its going to be harder than you realize to assemble those combos. Ill mention that I'm a hardcore Aurelia player so I might be a bit of an attack step snob, but here is my analysis. Combo 1 is hard because you need a ton of mana upfront, and you've already shown your combo to your opponents and are hoping that they did not play any removal, and requires an opponent with no blockers for Radha. Combo 2 and 3 assume that opponents have no blockers. Combo 4 and 5 require too many pieces with too many ways to get disrupted, and also assume no blockers. If you're talking about 4-5 card combos I really feel like those should just outright win the game. I do understand that they are budget, but it seems like this might be an area to splurge the on the feast and famine, neheb, aggravated assault combo, Natures will also works. Anyway, I like the video but just wanted to give my thoughts on the difficulty of actually assembling these. If nothing else, I want to see what I can cook up with Heat Shimmer and that other similar card. Bet there is some fun stuff to do there!
Hi we agree, these combos are not meant for competitive play. Just fun little analysis to see how some card interactions lead to loops in magic. If it happens in a game of commander then cool, but you shouldn't build your decks around them.
Budget MTG Decks with godo as commander you just need 11mana cast him fetch the new equipment helm of the host, and you go infinite only removal can stop you
Hi Daniel, I don't like any format which rotates out because then your deck becomes unusable and you have to go buy new cards which costs money. Not very budget friendly.
I don't think the first combo works, it's an attack trigger you would need to pay it when declaring attackers you wouldn't be able to pay into it after damage resolves which in the combo is how you get the mana...am I correct on this???
Hey dude, this isn’t a diss or anything but you need to open your mouth more when you talk. It’ll help with your annunciation and overall clarity. It might not make a huge difference in your UA-cam career, but it’ll take you miles in your interpersonal life.
Budget MTG Decks yeah I am just messing with yah. But here is a life gain one I am not sure if you covered or not, its the U/G Merflok that untaps an permanent(Need like two) And the W Merflok that gain life when a merflok is top, I do have others but its like 7+ cards which I think over the limit of how many cards that is used in your videos
Savage Ventmaw, Hellkite Charger, Mirror of the Forebears copying Savage Ventmaw. Infinite mana, and infinite attacks. Cheap, Verry Dragon Tribal Centric, if that's what is wanted, and MANA, double infinte combos!!!
Sometimes the only reasonable thing to do is to go to combat, over and over again. Tell us which commander likes infinite combat phases? Also which infinite combos should we tackle next?
*Corrections:*
0.48 - I say the ability costs 2 generic and 2 red. This should be 5 generic and 2 red (as shown in the video).
7.19 - I say you cast relentless assault before the combat phase ends. This should be done after your combat phase in your main phase (as shown in the video).

Budget MTG Decks Oh i see Savage Beating is too expensive nevermind, i understand now.
Xenagos
I found another infinite combat combo: Yore-tiller Nephilim with Breath of Fury, and 2 other creatures. Xenagos, The Reveler.
Neheb, The Eternal.
Also, please do a budget reanimator with Teneb, The Harvester.
I love that there is a budget magic channel. I only play kitchen table random stuff and it is amazing having somewhere to go for that kinda thing. Just have to say thanks!
And thank you for taking the time to let us know! We appreciate it ;).
Not really sure if all cards I'm about to list are under $1, but I found this infinite attack phase combo in my commander dragon deck I bought and modified:

Hellkite Charger works with alot of things, there is also a mana creature with vigilence, you can attack and tap it to net one mana. Sword of feast and famine(probably too expensive) and bear umbra untap your lands.
Combo 1 also works with Savage Ventmaw replacing either mana producer
That's correct!
I note that all of these assume that no creatures die while attacking. This seems like a bit of an issue, as if one were to die your infinite combat would be over
The Godo Combo also lets you tutor for enchantments each time Godo reenters the battlefield!
Unfortunately he only allows you to tutor for Equipment, Which are artifacts, not enchantments.
i'm just tossing this out there.if you run white green you could use two or more enduring scalelords and anything that causes a +1/+1 counter to be placed on a creature. after that the scalelords will bounce off each other getting as big as you want. then you could combine them with any abzan creature for your choice of lifelink, trample, first strike, deathtouch, etc
We do indeed have that combo in our infinite counters combo episode ;).
With Godo, you also get to keep pulling equipments from your library
That's right, how awesome is that!?
This is actually pretty sick. Awesome!
Thanks for the compliment!
Nice, Riku is an awesome commander indeed! Thanks for sharing.

To start the 4th combo you need to produce {2}{R}{R} at the start... Relentless Assault is a Sorcery
The video shows that we produce the mana in the combat phase and then cast Relentless Assault in the second main phase.
Hi, I was already missing this kind of videos TwT keep the lovely work you do please. I love your channel and you
Thanks for the kind words Asui! We will do our best to keep'em coming!
Nice videos!
Funny to see how all combos but number 4 are Naya. Hmm... Naya Commander with infinite attack steps? Heheh
Thanks! You could probably get away with a nice White Red commander and a couple of these combos in an aggressive deck. Perhaps Iroas, God of Victory?
Thanks again for more comboic ideas, gonna try to implement a few of these in some of the EDH decks I've been brewing around.
Just to let you know that there's a typo on your patreon logo which spells ".../budgetmgtdecks" but it shouldn't be a big of a deal.
Hi thanks for pointing that out! We'll fix it in the next one ;).
Great list. Do you have any good bant specific infinite combos?
Not off the top of my head, but you could check the other infinite combo videos.
just got off the laptop but i got back on to watch vids like his
Now that's dedication! Hope it was worth the effort ;).
lightning runner has double strike... which gives it 4 energy counters per attacking lightning runner each turn... not just two, because it says you get two energy counters per time you attack. a positive to your excess energy counters could be to play a creature in a deck with this combo, like scrapper champion that could use that many energy counters to ramp up p/t...
Hi Grace, unfortunately it still only attacks once. The double strike means it deals combat damage twice. This is why it only gets 2 energy counters.
why not savage beating + spellbinder?
edit whoops, savage beating went up in price since release :p
3) Ashling's Prerogative, Fervor, Emblem of the Warmind? Mass Hysteria is not under the dollar I guess but those first two options are more likely to stay in play than creature.
All fine alternatives.
Great vid as always my dude!
Thanks John! I also liked your video with Jason Alt ;).
Budget MTG Decks thanks brother. Jason is a different nut. Lol!
i love how every combo he makes is commander safe, ive seen combos that require duplicate cards, and thise dont work
Hey I really like the video, but I think its going to be harder than you realize to assemble those combos. Relentless Assault is a sorcery so how are you casting it during combat?
When are we casting it during combat? At 7:15 we cast it during our main phase.
So is this an easter video or an April fools video? Is it BOTH!?
As the combo's in this video are no joke I'm going to go with Easter video :P.
Budget MTG Decks well I thought you might be joking with the last two since they have SO MANY combo pieces.
Yeah, not really efficient are they? But I promise 5 so I must come up with 5 combos.
Budget MTG Decks with godo as commander you just need 11mana cast him fetch the new equipment helm of the host, and you go infinite only removal can stop you
Hey David I’m just curious what are your thoughts on the new brawl format?
Hi Daniel, I don't like any format which rotates out because then your deck becomes unusable and you have to go buy new cards which costs money. Not very budget friendly.
yeah i agree with you on the rotation thing, but ill admit I'm curious to play it. Anyways, thanks for the great content!
Would godo also pull equipment when it comes back?
Yes, every single time.
Hellkite Charger + Sword of Feast and Famine, much easier combo.
And add 1+ Utvara Hellkite for a growing army.
We can't use Sword of Feast and Famine as it's over $1.
Aah fair enough, I hadn't a clue what it's cost is.
I don't think the first combo works, it's an attack trigger you would need to pay it when declaring attackers you wouldn't be able to pay into it after damage resolves which in the combo is how you get the mana...am I correct on this???
It does work, the mana you get from damage resolving is not used for that attack phase but for the next one.
Gotcha i didn't even see the 5 untapped before attacking my bad, big fan of the channel keep up the good content!
Thanks Doug!
Love it!
00:47
isn't it 5 generic mana and two red?
Yeah, I misspoke! Sorry!
Budget MTG Decks
oh, no. its okay!
I'm just going to go ahead and post my Aurelia Attack Step Tribal right here: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/aurelia-attack-step-tribal/
That's cool, go ahead ;).
the human cannonfoder... cant you just switch him with goblin rabblemaster
"All cards under a dollar"
Rabble is like 4 or 5 bucks :/
the slowest godo wincon ever
#4 requires too much to happen before the combo. You're dead by then.
what would have been great was 5 combos that dont work on april fools
That would have been funny...but also a waste of everyone's time XD.
yes, simply the spirit of fools within me speaking, lol
My friends are gonna hate me
Couldn’t you just Rite of Replication the Runner?
Oh wait Rite of Replication is like $3. Either way thats dirty cheap.
Hey dude, this isn’t a diss or anything but you need to open your mouth more when you talk. It’ll help with your annunciation and overall clarity. It might not make a huge difference in your UA-cam career, but it’ll take you miles in your interpersonal life.
I welcome all constructive criticism, but please refrain from making assumptions regarding my personal life. Thank you.
Hellkite charger ability is for 5 generic and 2 red, not 2 and 2.
i had to replay the clip because i thought i misheard that, luckily im not the only one >.
Yeah I misspoke, but in the explanation we do show 5 generic and 2 red.
These are so nasty 😂it’s awesome
No Merflok combos...
No that is true, do you have any for us?
Budget MTG Decks yeah I am just messing with yah.
But here is a life gain one I am not sure if you covered or not, its the U/G Merflok that untaps an permanent(Need like two) And the W Merflok that gain life when a merflok is top, I do have others but its like 7+ cards which I think over the limit of how many cards that is used in your videos
That's true, we won't use any combos with more than 5 cards. We try to stick to three and four cards most of the time.
Savage Ventmaw, Hellkite Charger, Mirror of the Forebears copying Savage Ventmaw. Infinite mana, and infinite attacks. Cheap, Verry Dragon Tribal Centric, if that's what is wanted, and MANA, double infinte combos!!!
Very nice! Thanks for sharing ;).
First(?).
Yes you are first...
Oh that's really cool, I've never been the first comment on a video before.
:)
