i can't believe i just realized why penny was so sad when the robot died. It was her FATHER'S robot and he was the one she lost so it must have been like losing him again.
Not only was it his robot it was likely his final project and if it goes by Japanese Anime logic her father was likely killed by someone wanting his research or the actual robot if not both but the daughter who likely played with the robot during its programming fase witnessed the whole thing or was in the lab at the time, the robot would have saved her and took off to save them both. Probably blowing up the lab killing the bad guys or some such. The trama of the even is what likely caused the psychic link between the two.
Also kind of like losing a brother, since the robot was also the father's creation and pride and joy. It reminds me of a similarly somber Superman story called "Only Child" in which Superman meets an Iron Giant-like robot created by his father, Jor-El, that helps him fight off an armada that had reprogrammed the robot as a tool for their conquest. In the battle, the robot was severely damaged and sent spiraling down to Earth, "dying" on impact. As Superman knelt over the machine's remains and looked into its empty "eyes" to see his own reflection, Lois Lane asked him if he was all right. He remarked that the armada was defeated and everyone was safe, so she clarified that she was asking how he was. "I was alone before, so I suppose I haven't really lost anything," he said without looking at her, to which she looked away with a sorrowful look on her face. The next day, Clark Kent published a story about two brothers who were separated at birth and reunited in adulthood. After delivering the paper to them in-person, they asked him if he had a brother and he said, "No. I'm an only child," as the comic ended on a panel depicting the robot's remains in his Fortress of Solitude.

I'm black and I remember that when Miles was introduced back in 2011, I didn't give a care in the world about him because it looked like a weak attempt to throw a black character into the media. I always hated that when people say they need more diverse characters, they immediately think of a black person. After the movie came out 7 years later, Miles Morales has become my personal favorite of Spider-man; not for his race but how is was so expertly handled in the movie. One of the things that made me love Miles so much when watching Into the Spider Verse was that he is an original character of story. How? because so many black characters that are made, the story line behind the character has to fight through is always the whole fighting against discrimination and prejudice crap; that story line for black characters has been getting old. Miles' story is completely different, original, and can relate to other people. Another thing I like about Miles in his movie, he is a hero who does not try to fight for a girl. A hero doesn't always need to have some girl in his fucking life as a prize in his hero work; no kissing scene whatsoever for Miles as a hero, I swear, if I see the girl getting introduced as the character's crush by watching her walk down the school hallway in slow motion and waving her hair to the side and smiling at others one more time, I will give the producers a black eye. And lastly, Miles' motivation is completely justifiable. Ever since I was 14, I always hate how teenage characters in animated stuff or movies are always rebelling against their superiors or elders and not following orders believing that they can fucking do shit on their own as if they are fucking ready. Just like how my classmates rebel against our teachers. Miles is actually rebelling because he made a promise and wishes to keep it and doesn't want to let the person he made that promise to down, and I freaking admire that! It reminds me when I went behind my parents back to get some meat, crackers, juice, bread, chips, and water in a bag and my brother and I would take the bag to this homeless person who need it. I admire teens who rebel against their elders for a good reason and only when the elder is being a complete shit case. Also, he feels guilt for doing nothing to help so he is trying to make up for it. He is a teenager who is rebelling for good reason. I freaking love that. I had Miles all wrong back in 2011 but thanks to Into the Spider Verse, I have a new found respect for him and he is my personal favorite as Spider-Man. I don't like characters because they are the same color as me, I like a character just as character, how his/her story goes to make me like them and how I feel relatable to them. I have been in Peter Parker's shoes before but I am black. I don't need to relate to someone because of skin color. I relate to characters not because they look like me, I relate to them because they are a human being like me. Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero since 2001 so I say "EXCELSIOR"!
I funny enough had a rant to my girlfriend about certain expectations. The idea of diversity and pandering can align but aren’t the same thing. The idea of diversity is allowing new characters to theoretically be played by any race and it not making a difference. To say Miles Morales is “black Spider-Man” is ignorant. He just stands as another version of Spider-Man and I enjoy that.
"Another thing I like about Miles in his movie, he is a hero who does not try to fight for a girl. To be fair this is a Spiderman story, No (good) Spider-Man story has a love interest be Peter's/Spider-Man's main motivation unless it's to set up him being taught another lesson like in the original Sam Raimi Movies.
@@thewriter8762 Humour me. Imagine if Idris Alba played Superman. What would be the backlash? Hardly any because if anyone complains, they are racist and "its about time we had a black Superman. Who cares if he is drawn white, Idris is a good actor." now imagine if a white big roided out white guy played Cyborg. Lets say Brock Lesnar. Same response? Nah. Instead it would be the reverse. "Uhh he's black in the comics, this is racist. They're literally genociding black characters out of the comics reeeeeh!!!!" I say this because your "saying Miles is black spiderman is ignorant" is wrong. Sadly more and more youngsters are starting to identify Spiderman as always being Miles, and Peter as "the white guy stealing from black culture because the film clearly says 'Im Miles and im the only Spiderman' at the end."
It was a tough call that year when this movie was nominated for Best Animated Feature in 2019. It was up against Incredibles 2 and instead Spider-verse won. Both were great flicks.
@@TheFlamingShark I only see one problem with this movie when miles calls his dad. I am shocked 😲 that his dad did not call him back with his dad also being a cop. Even 911 calls you back if you call them even if by mistake.
@@loganshaw9198 I'm more than certain that his dad call back. But Miles ignores it, as he does with everyone else through out the entire rest of the movie
(At 1:38:08) best scene in the movie. And added with the "What's Up Danger" line. Even though he looks like he's "falling" down, the angle of it shows he's "rising" up.
1:57:26 They used PDNY and not NYPD is because it's part of the whole Miles's Dimension is different from us. Like how it showed earlier during the first Peter Parker's introduction in one of the ads he's swinging by, the Coca-Cola sign is called Koca-Soda instead.
1:26:25 I love the detail of Miles' invisibility being patchy and inconsistent; he isn't threatened by his Uncle Aaron so he can't totally activate it, but at the same time he knows he should be fearful so he subconsciously won't remain fully visable. His body is going to war with itself.
I do believe it is safe to say that Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is so far the only movie that contains a popular meme and *didn't* make it cringey.
25:00 I like how Gwen immediately went to African possibly because she was in front of Miles lol. Stuff like that makes the dialogue seem so realistic the way the outside world influences spur of the moment conversations.
One thing I noticed is that at 1:40:33, when Gwen says "I've been there", she probably means that she felt "That's not my Peter" when she saw Peter B. Parker, who felt the same with this version of MJ. Kinda touching tbh
It's also possible she felt that way when she saw Miles' universe's Peter's death being broadcast on the news like some kind of cruel reminder by the universe (so she was probably relieved to see some versions of him weren't destined to die; it would've been interesting to see her determined to prevent Peter B. Parker from sacrificing himself for the same reason Miles was ("I can't let Spider-Man die [again]" or "I can't let Peter Parker die [again]"). Likewise with Spider-Man Noir, but he kept his mask on the whole time, so it was probably easier to keep those anxieties in check around him (she sees her old friend as Peter, not Spider-Man, after all) and I don't think he would've stayed behind if he didn't have to, since he's kind of a revolutionary figure in his world and would feel he's shirking his uncle's lesson of the people's "responsibility" to redistribute the "power" that's being abused by those in charge (and he's got his own kingpins to fry).
I loved his reaction to the Doc Ock of this movie, I loved it too. And I was actually kinda surprised, a little, when I saw how well she was received. I think it's great ! :)
Fem Doc Ock was voiced by Kathryn Hahn, she was "Agnes/Agatha" in Wanda Vison and is 100% ready for Doc Ock cosplay any day. Also in "Parks and Recs" and probably at least 1 other thing you have heard of
One of the many things I love about this movie is that it really makes you FEEL the weight of Spider-Man dying. Several shots of just people staring at their phones and looking shocked and dismayed... It's genuinely incredible.
(49:40) Hard to spot, but aside from a Shaun of the Dead reference in the city billboards, I saw Clone College (a spoof on the directors’ old animated comedy Clone High).
came back to this reaction after seeing across the spiderverse in theaters. fingers crossed that shark will react to that movie at some point after it comes out on streaming !! i’d love to see that
"I wonder if they couldn't use NYPD for some reason." My theory is Peter B. Parker is OUR Spiderman. When you see him swinging in New York in his dimension its if front of a Coca-Cola sign. Notice In Miles' Dimension when Pete is transported It's now a Koca-Soda Sign. All brands in Miles dimension have name changes, I'm assuming the same for PDNY.
It was kind of poetic that the family was glitching threw the train as king pin was fighting spider man, I think it represented all 5 sets of his family from all 5 demention seeing what he was doing. So no matter what universe he gets in contact with. They know he's a monster
I love this movie, but one of my favourite scenes is when they are in the cave and Noir says that one of them has to stay behind so the others can return to their own dimensions. Every single one immediately volunteers to sacrifice themselves.
Watching this before your across the spiderverse reaction and I forgot how beautiful this movie was. I’ve been crying since Aaron’s death and still sniffling as Miles becomes Spider-Man. Your reactions just added to it aswell. Definitely gonna subscribe now and can’t wait to see more reactions
I'm pretty sure Liv has shown in the comics, so she's canon. Spider-Ham is from a universe where all marvel heroes are animals, Thor is a frog, for example. Noir was voiced by Nicolas Cage.
It definitely deserves all the hype and praise it gets. For me personally this is the single best Spider-Man movie ever. Its well written, funny, intense, has heart and well acted. The highlight is of course the animation. I consider myself a nerd/geek for not just animation but just style choices and the look and vibe of whatever it is. I can't think of a single movie or show that really looks like this. Best way I can describe it is a CG movie done in the style of Claymation.....which is incredibly cool and fascinating. Only thing that comes even close is "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs".
Also, I remember back when this movie came out, there were a lot of people who claimed Miles was...useless isnt the word, but i dont know what else to use, for most of the movie, but like, its understandable, by the time he got bit, he was already super stressed due to his new school, then suddenly he gets his spider powers and doesnt know how to use them, then spider-man dies, and then all this kinda stuff happens, its understandable that he is overwhelmed
The balls on this guy to post the whole movies, also I saw his zootopia reaction back in the day but based on the beginning bit of 200k his old channel got deleted BUT HE STILL CONTINUES LMAO
blows my mind how you get through the copyright junk on yt but I'm not complaining. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, it was like watching it with a friend and your reactions were priceless you are very expressive and genuine
I've been watching his reactions for years. And Yes he always uploads full reactions for free even if not on youtube. At one point he uploaded a 5 hour video of him watching a season of adventure time. He lost 2 channels already for doing this stuff... But I like that he is honest and does it because he wants to. Not because he gains anything from it.
I remember reading the Spider-Ham comic back when I was a kid. That was definitely a real character from a real comic. He's a spoof, obviously, but he did exist.
One of my favorite moments and I'm not sure if TFS realized this was 1:46:57 which is where miles takes a page of out the original peter parker's book.
Not me thinking the title meant that he was blind… like I thought “blind reaction” meant a blind person was reacting so when he started talking about the way it looks I was so confused lmao
Dude I so appreciate that you let the credits roll to show respect to all the people who worked to make good entertainment a reality. Too often we just take for granted how many people it takes to make some of these movies. SM into the SV from start to finish is probably among one of the most satisfying Spiderman films out there, and if you consider all the Marvel characters as part of the MCU regardless of studio, it's definitely one of the better Marvel movies.
I love his character, did you know that Miles was animated in 16 frames as peter was in 24 frames. it's a small but cool detail. also rip Stanlee, godspeed brother godspeed
I love how you recognized the Prowler so quick and I love your reaction to genderbent doc oc, it was pretty much the same as mine. Not every day you see a canonic genderbend of a character, only a few shows and movies have done that. 10/10 great reaction tho

To be fair this is a Spiderman story, No (good) Spider-Man story has a love interest be Peter's/Spider-Man's main motivation unless it's to set up him being taught another lesson like in the original Sam Raimi Movies.
Finally someone said it everything I couldn't put into words
@@thewriter8762 Humour me. Imagine if Idris Alba played Superman. What would be the backlash? Hardly any because if anyone complains, they are racist and "its about time we had a black Superman. Who cares if he is drawn white, Idris is a good actor."
now imagine if a white big roided out white guy played Cyborg. Lets say Brock Lesnar. Same response? Nah. Instead it would be the reverse. "Uhh he's black in the comics, this is racist. They're literally genociding black characters out of the comics reeeeeh!!!!"
I say this because your "saying Miles is black spiderman is ignorant" is wrong.

This was easily the more well rounded film in my opinion, so I'm glad it won
Yeah, this was going to win hands-down. As much as I did enjoy Incredibles 2.
Holy shit, you know it's something special when it managed to beat pixar...
@@TheFlamingShark I only see one problem with this movie when miles calls his dad. I am shocked 😲 that his dad did not call him back with his dad also being a cop. Even 911 calls you back if you call them even if by mistake.

I still can't even think about A Silent Voice without wanting to cry. The movie or the manga.
i didn't even know you reacted to this movie, this re-upload was a huge surprise to me, it being on youtube is an even greater surprise

I love the detail of Miles' invisibility being patchy and inconsistent; he isn't threatened by his Uncle Aaron so he can't totally activate it, but at the same time he knows he should be fearful so he subconsciously won't remain fully visable. His body is going to war with itself.

Because she was done well enough to give off bad ass intro plus u wouldn’t have known unless u paid attention at the beginning
the scene with miles tied up and his father talking to him through the door always gets me, the voice breaking always brings a tear to my eye.
Fun fact: the movie starts of ‘choppy’ or with a low fps and gradually gets smoother as miles learns to become spider-man
Edit: typo
1:03:53
Bagel effect starts here
I knew someone would say it
Fem Doc Ock was voiced by Kathryn Hahn, she was "Agnes/Agatha" in Wanda Vison and is 100% ready for Doc Ock cosplay any day.
Also in "Parks and Recs" and probably at least 1 other thing you have heard of
Aunt Mae’s the G. She’s like Alfred with his shotgun 😭😂
Aunt May and her bat (maybe she should take Batman's place) and Alfred with his shotgun for the perfect melee/ranged combo.
Man, I can't wait until the sequel's been out long enough for you to react to it.

THE FEELS.
I like your funny words, twist man.
"that bagel really hit the spot"
came back to this reaction after seeing across the spiderverse in theaters. fingers crossed that shark will react to that movie at some point after it comes out on streaming !! i’d love to see that
I'd be more surprised if he didn't, I'm sure he already has the movie in his sights. It's just a matter of how long until he can find it in hd 🤔
“You know, I guess one person CAN make a difference. ‘Nuff said.” -Stan Lee. RIP Legend.

The fact that the robot was probably all she had left of her dad makes it sadder
"oh great, it's Liv", which means she and Aunt May are/were friends
I have no memories of this place. I honestly can't tell if I've watched the original reaction or not, so let's do this
I'm pretty sure Liv has shown in the comics, so she's canon. Spider-Ham is from a universe where all marvel heroes are animals, Thor is a frog, for example. Noir was voiced by Nicolas Cage.
24:45 his laugh sounded like it was emitted from somewhere not from my headphones and scared the ever loving fuck out of me
It definitely deserves all the hype and praise it gets.
"Just in case we get a sequel, I don't wanna loose her."

1:49:09 Nah that ain't a scar, Miles has it too. It's just part of the whole 2D line art style to show where her jaw line is
Also, I remember back when this movie came out, there were a lot of people who claimed Miles was...useless isnt the word, but i dont know what else to use, for most of the movie, but like, its understandable, by the time he got bit, he was already super stressed due to his new school, then suddenly he gets his spider powers and doesnt know how to use them, then spider-man dies, and then all this kinda stuff happens, its understandable that he is overwhelmed
They've had "Into the Spider-Verse" but this year they're coming out with "Across the Spider-Verse"... Can't frickin' wait!!
It's ironic how this is uploaded after invincible ep 1

This dude literally uploaded the whole movie. But it is interesting to see his reaction lol
"Flaming Shark" is possibly one of the coolest names I heard.
SM into the SV from start to finish is probably among one of the most satisfying Spiderman films out there, and if you consider all the Marvel characters as part of the MCU regardless of studio, it's definitely one of the better Marvel movies.
holy shit I used to watch your reaction vids like 4 years ago and this just popped into my recommended, great to see you again
