Definitely need to redo the series. Since deflect arrows was patched in 1.5. Shield blocking stacks with armor reduction for 97%. I think all the videos were just made so early, a revised series would greatly benefit our community and you should certainly have that knowledge, and be the one to do it.

The shield charge bug isn't pached, there is a way to fix it, even when not playing on pc. The Dragonborn DLC allows you to unlock an option to remove all perks from a skill tree, without resetting the skill level. Simply remove all perks from block and put them back. That allows you to use shield charge again.
Do you mean the "Make legendary" function? It seems like it gives back your perks, but also reduces the skill level to 15 again. So is it really a viable way to get around this bug? PS: I'd like to know which things said in the video have changed since 2012 lol

Eso is a casual that plays on baby difficulty, he reads info off of wikis for content, pronounces r's where there arent any, and generally is just a slow person.
Combine the Targe of the Blooded with the Ebony Mail and a dual casted Fire Cloak spell to do some serious dot rampage. You can simply have Close Wounds ready in your right hand to heal every small incoming damage while you bash and sap the opponents health away.
That was`very well written and spoken with your guide my Alik'r warrior build and Vigilant of Stendarr may work. If you have time I would love to see you explore these optional two classes.
you can level up blocking quick at the beginning of the game and do some quick leveling up. you do this by going to the whiterun watch tower that was attacked by the first dragon you fight and near there should be a giant camp. you go and attack a giant and have it fallow you to the tower. the tower has to be attacked by the dragon first. you go in to the tower the giant will fallow you and wont be able to get in. the wake up to it and just block and sheild bash untill your hearts content.
borgshadow13 Well most of this is updated though. But when it first came out. Dayum. We're talking flying Mammoths's and mid air frozen arrows and items. Guards randomly fallin trough the ground, when trying to arrest you. Fun to watch, but annoying. I like using Restoration and the Rally Spells to become the ultimate support character. With the Respite perk, you can power bash then cast a healing spell to buy more time and stamina.
The torch damage goes up with high archery skill and the fire damage is at 3 but goes up based on proficiency in related destruction skill. Still nothing like a shield or weapon but just handy for roll playing

@shadowcrawler77 it is not the armor rating, it is the shield material. if you plan to use that shield because of it's great size, then get deflect arrows to cap it.
if u are up agaist forsworn and ur toast hold up ur shield and hope one of them does a dual power attack or if ur lucky and 2 or more people do power attacks it will stack the effect of slow motion and u can out even up to 3/6 times as many attack depending weather or not u get 2 times or 3 time as 3 times is Soo much slower also extra useful to mages as they will have time to switch to dual casting and make use of the impact perk and stun All the enemies
+sharki9876 They did not mess *all* of them up. Though, I think I have an idea why deflect arrows got messed up. Before you can get 100% Magic Resist (or was it fire, frost, shock?) no cap. Now, it's 85% capped.
I know this video is old now, but there's an exploit missed here. If you've got vegetable soup (or any other stamina regen soup/effects), bash, and then spam the crouch button as the bash connects and does damage, as you toggle your crouch, you bash again and again, faster than you could ever bash otherwise. This is great for spamming targe of the blooded, enchanted weapons (like mehrunes razor or anything else), or bash-mining ore with a pickaxe (yes it works) I can't assume I'm the first one to find this exploit, but I haven't seen any videos covering it.
Good info. I once told people how to rapid fire a bow especially crossbow. I even told people how to stack 3 equipped armors on fallout 4. Easy on Skyrim though if you don't mind being a werewolf or vampire Lord. If wanting to be human the jail glitch works still. Duplicate vegetable soup so you have that instead of a potion.
Ahh block. A buddy of mine, after watching Captain America, pondered whether he could play through the entire game using only a shield (and restoration magic). This he proceeded to do with the aid of vegetable soup. As such, this video is not telling me anything I don't already know. But I love these videos, pms00, they're very well made.
Ive notived that the game doesnt care about certain skills with sheild in their wording also working with 2h. So far ive tested that the perk that disarms and the perk that lets you move faster while holding up a sheild both work with 2h. This makes me wonder if the arrow one that maxes block also maxes 2h block? Anyone know?? Would be appreciated.

Is it patched? I've never had my shield charge stop working, and EVERY character I make has it for stealth sprinting. btw this is the first vid I've seen with that tip/glitch.

First off, if you're referring to wards absorbing the magicka effects it would only work with wards or that daedric artifact shield that projects the ward, the magicka resistance perk works regardless giving 30% magicka resistance regardless of using a shield or blocking at all, and the atronach perk gives you 30% spell absorption regardless of blocking at all.
well, spending blocking perks doesnt just optimize shield blocking effectiveness, the numerous effects from the high level shield skill are quite useful, in addition to if you get armor capped without enchanting, as in you smith your armor or whatever, you can use other enchantments on the armor other then armor enhancement, such as resist elements and other stuff
I have a good strategy for 1 on 1 combat when facing an enemy keep your sheild up until he/she/it does a power attack thus the quick reflexes perk will kick in and then power bash (power bash makes enemies fall to their knees while regular bash just staggers them for a second) and finally spam power attacks. If your facing a tough enemy or on master back off a bit before they fully get up and right when they start charging towards you charge at them so they fall over. Your welcome (:3
Not sure if anyone has mentioned vegetable soup stacking yet. But I know if you eat seven at a time you can run indefinitely while it lasts, nit sure if block running requires more stamina, and your armor weight will drain more without the perks. Theoretically though just eat more and block run for 12 minutes.
Can anybody tell me if Deflect arrows is still bugged in Skyrim SE? That is to ask, does selecting the deflect arrows perk still set the damage reduction to maximum regardless of the weapon that is used to make the attack against your character in Skyrim SE?
Every time I have tried to get into blocking it has failed to prevent enough damage to be worth it and I am better off just killing the enemy as fast as possible. Case in point the giant frost spider in bleak falls barrow hit through my block and took off way more than half my health. I have read enough reviews of block to know that it can be great but it frustrates me so much that I can’t get it to be anything other than a death sentence to try it that I always restart any time I make a character with the block ability selected.
Hey, does the blocking bonus also applies if your blocking with a weapon? Like 1hand sword, the higher the %, the better the sword will block? Also, the perk quick reflexes also applies with swords to? (Again, using 1hand sword) Or does it need to be a shield to activate the perk?
the armor rating of the shield would do nothing. if you actively BLOCK the attack, then it would work like this: 100 damage hit, mitigated by 567+ armor rating, strips 80 damage 20 damage remainder, mitigated by capped block, strips 17 damage 3 damage taken by player
You should think before you write, the armor cap means that if you pass it it won't effect the mitigation. Therefor 567 armor mitigates as much as 1000 armor.

@TheBraveWimp - 25% magic resist racial bonus. but you can achieve the same effect with nord or dunmer, at the cost of more enchantment slots.

when the shield charge runs out can you spend a dragonsoul in apocrypha to reset the skill tree and just re-use all the perks to get it back?

Some info on here is outdated. He mentions at 4:11 that Deflect Arrows perk deflects 85% of all damage. This was patched and is no longer true.

Bethesda should hire this guy for developing/fixing perk trees in a patch or the next game.
