I love your baking videos. These are all things I will bake for myself now I live alone. No fuss and little expense though seems like your grocery is cheaper than mine. Thank you very much
Just love your posts, from SA the conversion makes no sense, but I have made many of your recipes converting where I need to and want to- you are spot on with the quantities and results - not a high end baker here, but appreciate the simplicity and affordability of each of your posts. You are a cost saving, baking and cooking guru for the man-on-the- street. Keep up the good work, and have a break. You deserve it - so much good work deserves a break
I was wondering what to make for a Christmas dessert since there will only be three of us (if our weather cooperates!) This Yule Log is perfect! We’ll done! 😋😊🥶🇨🇦 It’s -26 C!
It looks absolutely beautiful and would be very fudgey as there is no flour. My family will be very happy to be served this on Christmas. Thank you very much for another winner. 😋
You are the best! Your recipes are easy to make and easy on the wallet. They always taste delicious too. I have been baking for many years. I look forward to your shows and I always learn something new. Today is December 11, 2024 and it is 27 degrees Celsius outside, 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Christmas Greetings from Florida, USA. 🌴
Oh my goodness, I have the exact same bone-handled knife! Used to belong to my Grandma. I love it so much that I'm terrified to use it! And I REALLY want to lick that chocolate bowl! Love how simple your recipes are! Can't wait to try this!
Nice! I love yule logs, I'll make this recipe this year. Although, filling I love and will probably swap in, is berry or cherry jam. It goes so nicely with the chocolate icing. Merry Christmas!
Look Dave, let's not beat around the bush, Wednesday comes, first the news and then, where's me baking video?, I can't be waiting until the afternoon, get it together man. People are relying on you, sanity in a mad mad world. This one is a cracker though. Top Man.
You never fail to produce a beautiful, delicious item of food. Love the alternate suggestion for dessert on Christmas Day. When you were smoothing out the chocolate cake and cream using what you had as the tool, shows many, no need for special tools. My mouth is watering just watching. I was going to ask about the Christmas cake progress and the mince for the tarts. The smell in your kitchen would be amazing. Keep them coming. Traditional Christmas goodies can not be beaten. In Australia it is more the prawns and pavlova because of the heat. I would love to experience a white Christmas.
My son makes a chocolate log every Christmas Dave he’s done it since a boy and he’s 26 now it always goes down a treat , sometimes he changes up the filling , yours looks beautiful also thank you , Amanda xx
Oh my ! I have NEVER been able to make a Swiss roll or a Yule Log. I simply can’t get the cake to roll without breaking BUT I am going to try one more time - thanks to your video 🎄 l have to say I held my breath when you rolled the filled cake ! Well done😁 And “Mele Kalikimaka “ as we say here in Hawaii 🌴 Thanks for another terrific video 😊
That looks absolutely scrumptious Dave 😋, would love to attempt to make this, but it might be a step too far for my clumsy arthritic hands to manage without having a chocy mess all over my kitchen floor!😱😂. Your tip on the grease proof paper/kitchen towel rolling technique seems excellent, & the end result looks fantastic!😍 Such a huge financial saving on buying a ready made version from the local bakery or supermarket at a fraction of the cost, & tasting much more delicious. Bravo Dave 👌👏 another winner & hope you savoured every dreamy morsel! YUMMMM! 😋👨🏼🍳👌🥰
I have always loved eating these, tho never had the courageto try to make it myself... I will give it a test run this weekend ( 14th and 15th Dec), and if I can do it, will make at least one, probably 2, on Christmas Eve to take to the family gathering
@ I also play. Classical nylon string not too good I am afraid Noticed your nails trimmed left hand, longer right Watch all your posts love the content Got any recipes for jam doughnuts Best regards

Delicious looking! And a wonderful size 😃👍🏻♥️.
I want to try that again. Years ago I tried one but the sponge cracked all over when rolling it up.
Thanks a lot....the trick s ro roll it while it is still a little warm, nice and slow and then let it cool. Good luck.
😍
❤️👍🏻
Many thanks.
I have always loved eating these, tho never had the courageto try to make it myself... I will give it a test run this weekend ( 14th and 15th Dec), and if I can do it, will make at least one, probably 2, on Christmas Eve to take to the family gathering
Good luck....I hope it turns out great....just roll it slow and careful. Thanks.
hi dave, can you explain the reasoning behind the egg separation and then recombining please?
😊
I bet your Christmas table will be wonderful. How long will the log keep Dave 😊
Thanks a Carol......It's good for 3 - 4 days in the fridge. (If there's any left after 3 - 4 days)
I had no idea you could make batter without flour. I know some say "no flour" but usually they use cornstarch or semolina or other substitutes.
Yes no flour in this one and the sponge is really light and delicious.
The title is missing and r. But I love your videos!
My pleasure....Thanks.
Would it have to be eaten the same day ?
You don't have to....It should keep in the fridge for - 4 days. Thanks.
ive done this but took out of oven spread the sponge and rolled straight away why warm much easier
Can I come and live with you 😅🤪😂🤣
I'll get the spare room ready.......Thanks a lot
Do you play guitar?
I was going to ask the same question👍
I do....have done for years....Can I ask what prompted you to ask. Thanks.
