This one brings back some memories. Learned a lot from this episode when I did the floors on my '87 Trans Am.

my high school car was a '66 lemans ,, factory 8-track , bucket seats , rally stripes ,, my friends always wanted to ride with me ! Even though my car was 20 years old,, oh the memories !
I worked in a body shop for 10 years.
But it was never at this level.
I really enjoy seeing the Improvement in methods and techniques. We didn't have clecos,
We had a bucket full of vice grips and a flanger. We had a string and a tape measure. We did have a Sharpie though. You guys are great.
This is a real fun show to watch.

I miss seeing Lou. He just jumps in a does things, learning as he goes. He'd be a great guest fabricator on Roadkill. This show was a regular for me.

One thing I loved about the LeMans for the 67 model year was the rear quarter gills. Sad no one makes reproductions of those fenders, the smooth ones are nice, but the gills just make it look so much more aggressive.

That car might look alright when It's done, although I don't think it will ever be the same again. The right way to do a restoration like that, is to jig up the interior & trunk areas before cutting out & replacing the panels. I've driven in some A body's that were done like that, & like I said before, they are not the same.
Looks to me that the quarter panels were in good condition except for the bottom 2 inches or so.
Man, I forgot how anarchic these shows' senses of humour were back in the 2000s 😆

Never seen that before... cutting everything away and putting new metal in temporarily. What is the advantage of this over just welding in 1 piece at a time?
You can adjust every peiece to make it fit better
You do it then see how much you cut back out to re weld. What kinda question is that? You buy new important clothing without trying them on first?
