      I watch you all the time. I have a large investment in Toni Brattin wigs. No bells and whistles but nicely made. Taz is wearing the brand more and more. My hair is getting thinner and thinner with some noticeable scalp on top. I love the spirals but they overwhelm me. My hair is naturally curly too. Now that I’ve been watching how to thin and cut, I think I can manage making some of my wigs work. I think I’m crazy. I have a 17 year old mind and a 76 year old body. Everyone says I look like I’m in my 50s so is that too old to pull it off?

    She looked so cute when you finished. You can wear her everyday. One thing, I had watched a video and the serrated blade was on top. From the video I watched if you were to clamp down all the way it would actually cut the wig shorter. I’m curious about that now. Let me know if you know.
    Great video!

    • @fakehairmama7104
      @fakehairmama7104  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Jenny! Yes, the hairs that you are thinning will be shorter. But you can control how short they are by placing the shears further away from the wig cap. However, you need to thin the area that you feel has too much density. You should not thin right at the wig cap so you still have hair to cover the wefts and any permatease. Hope this helps 🙏
      Thank you So much for watching 👀!

    I have this wig and totally agree on the mushroom headedness! I looked at the listing pix and seems like the blond one listed has more waves toward the top so it looks less 'shroomy, so I thought I'd add some waves to it. But now that I see the difference that a bit of thinning makes, I might thin it before I wave it while I have it on the wig head to work on it. Thanks for posting this! I always appreciate and enjoy your reviews and tips!
    Also, question: It looks like this kind of acts like razoring. Does it give that same effect? Thx!

    • @fakehairmama7104
      @fakehairmama7104  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Why am I here! You are very welcome:) I have found some variation in the curl pattern in all my Breezy Wave Cut wigs, but they all have that mushroom appearance on top. I have never razored, but it appears that with razoring you are removing more hair per area. With the thinning shears, you are approximately cutting every 3rd hair or so. So it is more of a blended look.

      Just make the wig yours, play around with it and wear it around your home for a bit when you are home. I found that in doing that, I get to see it more and make any "corrections" if needed. Sometimes I love the way it looks so much I want to go out! Your self-esteem and confidence definitely connects here! Remember also that your the only one who really knows it's a wig. I was wearing a cheap synthetic wig once and a lady complimented me on my hair! Best of luck to you and have fun with them!

    • @fakehairmama7104

      Hi sharcon! It really is a matter of preference. Some people love the "80's" hair look😉. I think some wig manufacturers add extra hair to cover the wefts. Especially Amazon wigs, they tend to go overboard.
