I already loved Whitney Houston and I thought it was her song. After the presenter said - new singer, Mariah Carey, debut album, etc. I remember collecting my pocket money to buy her cassette - it was "expensive", I was 14, and hers was the very first album that I bought, original, not copy :D I still love all of the tracks from that album, she is still the best.

They both inspired generations to sing and both have received many accolades. However, Mariah is the most successful out of the two. Mariah has called Whitney the voice many times in her career because she's humble and will never disrespect her. Whitney has never reciprocated the same gesture just "She's a great singer".

I don't think she's much of a Whitney fan. She's done reaction videos to her though. I love Mariah and Whitney and I'll admit I love Whitney a little more (personal preference) but if you're a vocal coach, you should focus on style and technique and try to put personal preferences aside. I think both singers have their strengths and weaknesses.

Every showcase of Mariah vocal's in that video IS live. Just google the date and name of the performance and look for the company that's hosting the show. They have the records for live shows. Great video! I definitely think there are some better videos of her best live vocals, and yes, 2 or 3 clips on this video aren't live vocals, unfortunately. (they're either lipped or dubbed idk). She has vocal nodules, which I understand can damage your voice, so that is probably why she has started lip synching as of late.

- The ‘America The Beautiful’ 2005 shown performance was playback, but watch the same song performance at 1990 (The Slay Is Real)

Every showcase of Mariah vocal's in that video IS live. Just google the date and name of the performance and look for the company that's hosting the show. They have the records for live shows. Or you can just put the video in an audio setting and remove the some sound parts to hear if it's live/dubbed.

Great video! I definitely think there are some better videos of her best live vocals, and yes, 2 or 3 clips on this video aren't live vocals, unfortunately. (they're either lipped or dubbed idk). But it's nice to see a reaction to her prime vocals, as opposed to her more recent vocals, which you've done a video or two on :)

The one song you didn’t know (at NFL) is called Don’t Forget About Us, back when We Belong Together was her biggest hit after 2 tough eras (Glitter and Charmbracelet), they went after a song for the Platinum Edition of The Emancipation of Mimi that would emulate We Belong Together and try to snatch another success. If you listen closely, it’s virtually the same song!
