Btw her highest recorded note is B7 (ending whistle harmonisation in Can't Let Go), her highest live note is Bb7 (guinness world record, Emotions live at Vma's 1991).
Her vocal coach said she can surpass the piano so yep, easy access to the 8th octave, and her lowest live and in the studio is F2.

her highest note might actually be an F#8, from when she was swimming with dolphins last year, it it is an exclamation so it might not count

@@bobturner2312 well her vocal coach said she can surpass the piano so she can definitely go in the 8th octave, but it's not in her known vocal range cause it's not musical so she never hit it. But omg if it's actually an F#8 she'd have more than 6 octaves😍😍😍
@@federicoraggio8111 see thats where its confusing, it was clearly an accident, wildlife its counted other range. But if you count every note, exclamations, accidents, vocal fry and speaking shes has 7 octaves 5 notes and 1 semitone!!! (A1 - F#8)

@@nolubabalongesi44 I know. Not in whistle register but that still doesn't take away from that impossible range. He needs to work on those high notes, though, because often times they sound like squeaks, but he's a great vocalist nonetheless.
@@ie2428 Hmm This is his whistle register. And he doesn't need to work on his high notes, let's be fair. 😊 And he's called best singer in the world by experts for a reason. And ge uses a cladsical bel canto technique for gis head voice (he also has a university degree in classical music, not only contemporary music like some believe), there's nothing "squeaky". That's a much fuller tone than wha can be achieved with a contemporary technique
@@JasminGardenia I mean when he's in the upper 7th octave he starts to sound very squeaky. I heard his D8 and it sounded a lot like a squeak. He doesn't have a whistle register. This is obvious because of two reasons:
1. True whistle notes are breathy and thin. It's like distinguishing falsetto from head voice: they can easily get mixed up.
2. When he ascends into some of his higher notes, starting with an obvious head voice into his supposed whistle register, there is no vocal break. No matter the agility, there is always a vocal break when switching between registers, and whistles aren't a magnification of head voice, but a separate register entirely.
These are just some reasons why he doesn't have a whistle register, but this doesn't take away from the fact that he is one of the greatest vocalists. There's no arguement there. I mean, having a whistle register isn't EVERYTHING, and it doesn't take away from the fact that his voice is inhuman. I mean, if I tried to replicate any of those superheadvoice notes, my throat would fall out of my neck.
@@ie2428 Oh man... every single expert says that he has a whistle register. Every one. And with all due respect: you are a layman. And no, he doesn't sound squeaky. And with all due respect: the argument with the allegedly missing vocal break when he switches between registers doesn't make sense. Dimash never switches between these two. He uses head voice for his 6th octave and the whistle for the 7th and 8th octave. And you can also see it on the embouchure that he is in a higher register. On his high head voice notes he, of course, opens his mouth wider than on the whistles. Also: there is no such thing as "superheadvoice"

True as you pointed out, her most impressive vocal ability is actually transition between registers, alongside her vocal agility.
That 'Vanishing' performance lacks the seamless chest to whistle transition heard from her SNL shows (both rehearsal & the formal versions), but sounds less stressful with great melismata. The 1995 & 2013 "All I Want for Christmas is You" live shows are better in my opinion. She was explosive during early to mid 90s before being more refined since then.
I highly recommend you to listen to the entire "Lead the Way" ballad. What a showcase! "Glitter" is her most vocally sophisticated album in my opinion. The debute & "Emotions" on the other hand are most explosive & energetic. "Daydream" (especially the Tokyo show) is her best live performance.
