Few things may need correction, a7c ii has no raw output - 2:08 ? Seems only a7cR has the raw output. Also a7cR 4k 60 has 1.2x crop so completely uncropped may be wrong here 4:01
You said both AC bodies are "predominately plastic construction", and the full frame bodies are "predominately metal construction". That is incorrect, as according to Sony both AC models have a full magnesium frame and they show an exploded blowup of this frame on the website.
The CR is not positioned well, The A7RV is only $900 more and when you're already spending the $3k it makes sense to just grab the extra features of that camera. They should have made an A1C with the 50mp stacked senor from the A1. Then they could have charged $3499 and it would be a perfect in between model. If the A7CR price drops to $2700 I'd grab it though because 61mp is super awesome, it just seems expensive in the lineup.
We see as the only but important defect that the latest Sony Alpha models no longer have a connector for a remote shutter release. For those of us who are creators of aerial sports content and other extreme sports, it is a basic function to be able to connect remote triggers.
As an A 7 IV owner, if I was gonna pull the trigger on another camera it would be the A7 RV I think, and not this dumbed down version of it. I was hoping Sony would come out with something that didn't have so much rolling shutter. Maybe a camera with its stacked 50 MP like the A1. Neither of these 2 non-new offerings address rolling shutter which is the big weakness of both A7 IV and RV
Very much. For me, a lot of room to grow into the A7 IV. I have been doing a deep dive into S log 3 for photos and videos and its VERY satisfying once you learn to get it right. But I would like a higher MP sensor for bird and nature shots where more crop is handy. Also i want less rolling shutter. So in other words, I want the A1 but with the new screen and AI. Same with the A7Rv. I would like a stacked sensor, 50 MP or higher with the newest AI autofocus and ideally a price lower than what my kidney can fetch on the black market.
@@PowerGrindBoxing You won't regret it I don't think. I love mine and there is a ton to learn about it. Next I may play with S Cinetone. But S log 3 offers a LOT for both photos and video once you get it. Try the software On1 for grading S log 3 photos. Does most of the work itself.
Next time talk a little faster. I think you need to talk about Sony camera naming convention and feature nomenclature. I'm more confused now than ever before. Did you say anything about tracking capability? I'm trying to figure what is best bang for buck but with best subject tracking options and performance. I currently shoot A77M2 and A99M2.
A7C2 seems to have better features and better auto focus. The only thing the R has over the 2 is the uncropped 4k60 but to me that's not a big deal, just shoot wider.
I bought the a7C last year because of its small, rangefinder-like body. These new ones are real tempting. Are the batteries compatible with the a7C? That would be the only hassle, having to carry different batteries and chargers.
The cameras and lens is available for preorder on our website, and we should be shipping them out pretty soon. You can check it out here: bhpho.to/3PjTfZY
Awesome specs . They are semi retro-ish back in the day . I don’t this the. Ikon ZF is going to have the same specs or abilities. I’m tempted on getting the a7cii. I want something small and with this phenomenal focusing capability’s to go in a kit with my two , a7siii’s . I have the lenses I need . But dang is that 16-35ii nice . I have the 16-35 f/4 pz. It’s ok but the power Zoom isn’t the best. It jumps into its zoom ruining any quality zoom . Then controlling the zoom speed is impossible. Sony need this new ii version in a pz and a proper quality and controllable zoom built in and as external zoom control system.
Please detail that! If I understand you right its a very desirable feature. But what do you mean exactly please? Can you click the photo button while filming and it creates a photo without stopping video? My Sigma Fp did that and its SUPER useful
What do you think of these new Sony cameras?

Sony is like the APPLE of camera world
@6:43 just spilled my hot coffee all over the place (thanks)
"And light weight to boot" at :33 seconds. Very "cheeky" B&H, very cheeky..
I think the mid 30mp is a pretty great sweet spot for most photographers.
Sony should bring back the Rx1R model and crush Leica in compact point & shoot style cameras.
Good information and comparison.
Pls do vedio on e mount lenses❤
debating on the A6700 or A7c II, big price difference but very similar feature set except for sensor size.
id say if you have heaps of full frame lenses, the a7cii and if you have apsc lenses a6700.
2:15 Can the Sony a7CII really shoot RAW video externally 🤔

No way in hell you'd ever see a stacked censor at ina compact body like that.

Bingo
A 7SIV should be coming soon lol. Are you enjoying the A7IV? I’m thinking about making the purchase.

@@jamescohen I am seriously considering the A7IV! Might take the shot today! Thanks for the feedback.

The body on the A7Cs are magnesium alloy like the A7II and A7R5.

which model you recommend for Videography?

low light comparison between these 2?
On the R, 4K60 & 4K30 are pixel bin’d and the video is less sharp than the A7Cii. Also, are the HDMI specs for the A7CII correct?
Image sharpness is not an issue between these cameras. Both cameras offer he same 1 x Micro-HDMI port. >Mark

No worries, the Sony a7C II takes the same battery as the a7C, NP-FZ100 battery.
Does either have a thumb toggle for AF selection like the bigger cameras? I recall the original A7c did not.
Both cameras have the AF ON/Off toggle button on the rear panel. >Mark

Do they overheat?
any 4k\60 heating issues?
When does it get released in USA?

Will the A7CR allow you to pull images from video like the A7RV?

Incorrect. 😓😓😓
The A7CR 4k/60p does have a ~1.2x crop.
Bro looks like Alan in VIVA LA DIRT LEAGUE
Ah, please talk slower! I have to pause and rewind constantly to catch all the lightning fast talking.
The choice to do away with the “tilt-screen” on the a7CR is going to result in thousands of lost sales to “photographers”
nice
tilty flippy screen!
Seriously!!!
