For me the grip is totally fine, especially in comparison to ZV-E1. And I love the ability to turn on the APS-C mode (while doing photos) and even mixing APS-C mode with Clear Image Zoom while making videos which gives really huge zoom on a prime lens, and that was not possible with ZV-E1. I've set APS-C mode to dial-down and zoom to custom lens button. Using most of the time with great, relatively cheap and lightweight Sony FE 1.8/35mm lens while having the option to zoom in thanks to the body software and I'm overall very happy with Sony A7Cii. Been using before ZV-E1 for a month and I don't look back. I thought I will miss more framerates, but A7Cii is just better (weather-sealed, viewfinder, more buttons, higher resolution...), and just in case more framerates you can generate with many softwares.

Great walkthrough. The ability to change settings on the LCD is a great addition. Sony should add this to all future cameras. We all know that Canon has had this for a while. For solo shooters of video or photo, such a feature is extremely appreciated. I wonder if it can be added with a firmware update.

    Great video!
I want to ask you what type of white balance you use when shooting outdoors.
Do you use the AWB or adjust the kelvin properties, or do you manually set the white using the color passport?

Would you prefer this over ZV-E1, I found that ZV E1 has incredible photos with 12 mp.

I would think so. ZV I think is terrible for photos but that’s just me. I have 1 and I think it’s mediocre at best.

Seems like a solid camera. To be honest I don´t understand why people get this one over the a7IV. the price difference is not that big, at least not here on the other side of the pond. The A7 IV handling, dual SD etc are far more important. Also once you put good glass the size difference becomes less noticeable. For me a camera is a tool to capture some amazing moments. Hence using it should feel natural and then I can focus on the photo/video. So handling and having redundancy make it less cumbersome. Or I´m messing something?
The production and quality of your videos is a good as gets Don´t loos that one your channel becomes to big :)

I sold my a7iv and bought the cii with the earnings. It's noticeably lighter and better feeling in the hand for me, I'm 1000% happy with the trade!

@@hdwblade Thanks for the input. So the difference is that big?

@@asiadmajeed I didn't think so at first but it's been really nice to use. I will say my 1.4 35mm sigma feels more front heavy now, so I'm actually looking to downsize and get something smaller, maybe a 24, but so far it's been a noticeable improvement to my quality of life while shooting

There's color banding on the left side of your black background...

Not sure how much this makes a difference, but the A7Cii doesn't have a fully mechanical shutter. This can affect bokeh. Regarding the lack of joystick. That doesn't bother me, as I rarely find the need to use it on my A7RV (I have the A7Cii for travel). You can either use the touchscreen (like a joystick and move your thumb around) or I have mapped the AF-On button to "tracking". I lock on and grab the subject and focus & re-compose in-camera (same for video btw). I've added the nice Smallrig grip baseplate for added pinky.

I have the a7cii and the shutter can close fully when not in use to protect the sensor, so how is it not fully mechanical?

Everyone seems to say the same stupid comments about this camera .If you want all the thing that the A74 has you buy the larger camera .You cannot have the best of all things.
