Since you two finished the arc, I was curious if you had figured out that Tengen's wives had personalities that mirrored the trio? Zenitsu and Suma are emotional and full of anxiety. Inosuke and Makio are aggressive and short tempered. Tanjiro and Hinatsuru are calm and levelheaded. It's a nice little detail most don't pick up but was curious if you two did
The three wives act exactly like the three young demon slayers. Tangiro is just like Tengin's favorite wife, Makio is a match for Inoske, and Zenitsu acts exactly the same as the whining wife
The reason why Ume(Daki) was shown in the light at the end scene is because she never chose to become a demon. Gyutaro chose for her when they became demons.
You can see that Gyutaro also saw a lot of himself in Tanjiro because he called him all the insults that people would say after him in the previous episode. Also, it was revealed in a data book that Daki/Umi stabbed the samurai in the eye because he was saying horror things about her brother and the reason why she reverted back to her human self and not Gyutaro was because she didn't choose to become a demon like he did. So she was given the chance to go into the light, but instead choose hell to always be with her brother
Actually she wasn't given the chance to go into the light, the anime made a mistake adding that in the episode, it wasn't in the manga. She was always bound for h*ll. Just as Tanjiro said before they died, "No one will forgive what you've done". Gyutaro also reverted back to human self when we see them walking into the flames.
@@Scrazelope they probably did add it on purpose, but it's still a mistake, I think they misinterpreted something when adapting that scene (maybe they took Gyutaro's words as fact, despite all the context?) since having the light there doesn't make sense in the series and is a plot hole
Nezuko's blood demon art can burn demons or anything part of a demon. So, she just burned the gyataro's poison. She doesn't actually has any healing abilities.
thank you, It's surprising how many reactors all jump to the conclusion of her being a healer when it's been stated many times her demon arts burns demons and not humans. Then the the fact she doesn't heal any wounds like the cuts on Inosuke or Tengen. She literally only removes the poison after burning his blood blades.
Those aren't flame. It's her blood and yes,her blood has healing abilities. Literally her entire powerset is based onto Kamado's bloodline enhanced by blue spider lily. And just like Tanjiro she can attain Muzan to become a true immortal demon queen.
@stefanocremonini2656 she's never healed anyone other than burning gyo's poisonous blood out of them. The cuts and wounds are all still there. Tengen is still missing an arm and eye. All she does is burn the poisonous demon blood out of them. Because her power burns demons that's all. The only regeneration she can do is to herself like most high ranking demons.
It's actually very convenient she's part of the good guys, because can you imagine how incredibly useless she would be as a villain demon with that blood art?
I can't help but feel terrible for Daki and Gyutaro, because what choice did they really have? The way everyone treated them and abandoned them made Gyutaro do things to help them survive, and they eventually lost all of their humanity as demons because it was the only way they could stay together. Daki choosing to stay with Gyutaro even if it meant she would be reincarnated into a life of suffering made me tear up.

To be clear, Nezuko can’t heal. Her attacks hurt demons and are completely harmless to humans, so what was happening was that she was burning all the demon poison away, but was leaving the humans untouched
It is consistent with her powers because we saw her burning Tanjiro inside his dream and destroying his dream slowly by bringing his demon slayer equipment back in Mugen Train.
(At 7:11) Oh yeah I remember: Daki: "So… you can use Demon Blood Art too, huh? I never heard Demon Blood Art that only hurts demons. Whatever you did me, it's taking me a really long time for me to heal from"
It's like at least the third time I watch this and yet I poured my eyes out, which I hadn't done the previous times, it gets more and more tragic the more. you watch it.
Just a quick trivia here... The patches on Gyutaro's face and body are the symptoms of 'Congenital Syphilis' and in Japanese Gyutaro actually translates to it... And so does Daki in Japanese refers to Syphilis disease too....
Nezuko's Blood Demon Art only affects demons, as we've seen with Rui, Daki, and Gyutaro (SPOILERS and to an extent later, Genya), so she can only "heal" wounds if they were the subject of a Blood Demon Art. Meaning she can't just heal any injury, and that she's not entirely just a Mary Sue for the Three Demon Slaying Amigos.
I've always liked that the mugen train and the entertainment district arc both end with the trio in tears but the emtional tenor of the scenes are almost completely opposite.
So, quick explanation of nezuko: her blood art doesn't heal at all, it just destroys all things directly demon related. wich includes the poison that has demon origin.
no, im confused why everyone misunderstands this part 5:21 her power / blood demon art is the same as it was from s1 ep 19, shown to burn Rui's threads and not Tanjiro meaning it either only or mainly burns "demon cells" and its been shown other times too of course meaning "demon poison" would also get burned away since the poison is made from demon blood
What a good episode, Daki and Gyutaro's backstory always hits me in the feels! Also as a side note, with them reacting to Demon slayer in English, I'd love to hear what they think of the characters' Japanese voices.
Almost every time a demon gets finished off, we find out a tragic backstory concerning how they came to be. Very few of them ever started off as horrible beings. Gyutaro walked that line because he did horrible things as a human but much of what he did was for Ume. The rest of the upper ranks, for the most part, do NOT walk that line.
Tanjirou's face in the moment where we see all three of the main crew scream with effort, it truly looks like he's on fire, he managed to *set his heart ablaze.*
The light and dark represent heaven and hell, Ume had the option to go to heaven because she died in self defence and it’s her brother that got her to turn into a demon. At the end of every demons death we see their last moments before they go to hell, and for rengoku we see go to heaven. Also, considering the time and place most everyone believes in reincarnation
Nezuko cannot heal per say. Her flames only burn demons, so she could burn away the poison. Can't heal WOUNDS though, but with Gyutaro's attacks it was really the poison that was the most immediately lethal. Nice detail, really powerful demons take longer to turn to ash when they're killed. You can see Gyutaro's head took WAY longer to disintegrate than Daki's as she was considerably weaker than he was. Daki was named Ume after the disease that killed their mother. The disease was actually Syphilis. Gyutaro's appearance is most likely a result of being born while his mother had syphilis, as it's known to cause things like the scarring on his face. Being really sick and having children, NOT the best thing to do. Next season's not slowing this train down.
Daki said in ep 7 that nezuko's blood demon art only burns demons so since the poison is demon made she can burn it away i forgot this till 10 mins after this ep 2 years ago and thought she was just the plot armor for everyone cuz i had made peace that both Inosuke and Tengen were going to die i was ready and then they were fine and alive and i was annoyed till i remembered what i said earlier in this comment
It's been that way from the start, not just from S2E7. Like in the Rui fight, her BDA is noted to have specifically burned Rui's thread, but not Tanjiro, or in the train arc, where it surrounds Tanjiro and burns Enmu's rope, but doesn't hurt him.
Not to be "that guy" but of all the reactions i've seen for the past year+, this is the first one i've nevebeen in my feels.. coincidence.. its the first dub one i've seen
as someone who's dealt with disassociation i can relate to zenitsu waking up with no memory and suddenly finding his body fucked up and his friends all injured
The dark place was purgatory when gyuataro started walking to the flames that was hell. Heaven was the light . I like that Tanjiro will show empathy to his enemies afyer he defeats them. The demons do deserve to go to hell for what they did. Im glad that we see three guys improve and get stronger. I swear they always make the hashira likeable.
Have y’all seen that meme where it liked SpongeBob saying: we did it Patrick, we save the city. And the city is on fire. Edit that new character will be very important also a new trailer show tengen will make an appearance
20:28 he wish good life for hissister by making her oiran(prostitute). That's how harsh their life is. even without demons entertainment district is messed up.
Gyutaro wasn't doubling down at the end. Daki was trying to follow him to Hell when she had a chance to go to Heaven, and he was trying to hurt her feelings enough that she would leave him so she could have a good afterlife in Heaven.
TLDR; Nezuko doesn't heal them, she can only burn the poison from their bodies 😋 I'm sure others have mentioned but its easy to miss! Nezuko's fire (demon art) specifically burns and hurts only demons (including things they create like these blood sickles and the poison). She does not harm non-demons with her flames. So she doesnt heal their wounds, all she is doing is burning the demon created poison from their bodies. They still have all the stabs, cuts etc. that they got otherwise. Still a great support ability but not technically "healing".
ye if I was them and went thru that I would do the same I don't blame those 2 tbh, and also when it showed the heaven and hell Daki was able to go the light because she didn't choose to be a demon her brother made her one so that's y she was in her human form
Ume means plum. Giving it a name after a disease means that spots on the body with this color appear in sick people. It's not the name of the disease, it's just a symptom. That's probably not what the parent had in mind, but that's what her brother thinks.
Not exactly : 梅毒 (baidoku) means syphillis, it's constructed with two kanji : 梅 (ume) meaning plum, and 毒 (doku) poison. Syphillis symptoms in the mother also explains several things in her brother's appearence, it fits what we know.
I read the manga and am currently watching the anime, Kenny a few episodes ago: "What if tanjiro turns in to a demon in the future? Like this is a little foreshadowing?" Me: 😳You do not know how right you are. 😳
11:31 Tanjiro is a member of the Heart of Gold Protagonist Team alongside Goku, Naruto, and Luffy. I'll be interested to see Tanjiro go up against a Frieza-type villain. A villain that is completely evil, irredeemable, and has no tragic backstory to sympathise to.
That back story for the demons always makes me cry. However you 2 are just "eh, tragic but they were terrible or I'm so confused" i guess there's just something broken in me. I will say the correct phrase is "they're terrible BECAUSE they had a tragic upbringing". Also keep in mind they didn't reach adulthood.
Hold up... So basically if a person had the worst childhood, that's no reason to become any kind of negative influence yourself? You should just deal with it somehow or let it go now that some time has passed?
Nezuko is a strong demon, but at this time it’s likely Gyutaro was stronger. If Gyutaro still had his head Nezuko probably would’ve found it harder to dissolve Gyutaros final attack.
It was never about fate Gyutaro said no matter how many times he was reborn, he’d always be a demon, as in, so long as he was given the choice, he would become a demon, every time As for Daki, or rather, Ume, she said that no matter what, she’d always be reborn as his sister, she chose to never leave his side, to always be his sister, because she truly loved her brother, and refused to live a life without him Neither of them regretted anything as they went to hell together, because they would always be together, whether as humans or demons, they would always be brother and sister Not by fate, but by their own choices
For the record, regular members qualify to be Hashira after being able to beat a lower moon. This generation as you can tell is Low ranking Hashira level in strength but lack experience.
Like what some other comments said. Nezuko doesnt have any healing powers. Her blood demon art is Exploding blood, which is basically purple fire which only affects demons, or anything demon-related. Nothing human-related, which is also why tanjiro has just passed through her flames undamaged. Gyaturos poision is demon-related which is why inosuke and tengen got ‘’healed.’’
Daki(Ume) could’ve actually gone to Heaven/reincarnate. She made the conscious choice to kill people yes but Daki herself didn’t make the choice to become a demon. Gyutaro made the choice for her which intern allows Daki(Ume) to go towards the light.

Daki: "So… you can use Demon Blood Art too, huh? I never heard Demon Blood Art that only hurts demons. Whatever you did me, it's taking me a really long time for me to heal from"
The two of them walking toward the flames together never fails to make me tear up lol
(At 7:50) Yeah that's not poison. That's just swelling from broken bones bent in an wrong direction.
Daki doesn't refer to Syphilis, Ume does, Ume peans plum and the word for Syphilis in Japanese translated literally means plum poison.
The reason why ume stab the samurai Is because he insulted her brother
The fact that season 3 will be the last calm/happy season 😭
There were too many characters anyway
They made it out of this arc with no fatalities. Such a nice change from what usually happens in this kind of anime
They really put the emotions in this one
Remember rui ´s family < even it’s hell we will go their together too > this is called love❤
7:52 we dont have "healing" like its funny how just before she said that tanjiro said "it burned away the poison" it didnt "heal" anything 😂
Almost every time a demon gets finished off, we find out a tragic backstory concerning how they came to be. Very few of them ever started off as horrible beings. Gyutaro walked that line because he did horrible things as a human but much of what he did was for Ume. The rest of the upper ranks, for the most part, do NOT walk that line.
spoilers
akaza is the only one with a tragedy among the upper-ranks right ?
@@satiramalek2572 It's been a long time since I read the manga, but I believe that is correct.
SPOILERS:
DAKI/GYUTARO, Hantengu, Akaza are the only Upper-ranks with sad backstories.@@satiramalek2572
I wonder if Doma and Gyutaro were still buds? Too bad we never got to see them interact.
Fantastic reaction to an amazing season! Looking forward to season 3!
(At 29:44) The fact that all the three out four of them are crying, because they all survive this with severe injuries, they're a little relieved.
their back story makes me cry every time... if just one person saved them and was kind to them they may never have become demons...
Much like shigaraki in that sense. It really does take just one person sometimes and maybe the whole outcome would be different
Tanjirou's face in the moment where we see all three of the main crew scream with effort, it truly looks like he's on fire, he managed to *set his heart ablaze.*
The entertainment district arc is just top tier. Such a great season. I never get tired of watching it. Glad you two enjoyed it. :)
(At 27:40) No… this is something MUCH worse, that not even Nezuko cannot undo.
(At 18:20) Well, she was still half alive
Dude, the pure fear on Uzui's face at 2:17
Daki said in ep 7 that nezuko's blood demon art only burns demons so since the poison is demon made she can burn it away
i forgot this till 10 mins after this ep 2 years ago and thought she was just the plot armor for everyone cuz i had made peace that both Inosuke and Tengen were going to die i was ready and then they were fine and alive and i was annoyed till i remembered what i said earlier in this comment
It's been that way from the start, not just from S2E7. Like in the Rui fight, her BDA is noted to have specifically burned Rui's thread, but not Tanjiro, or in the train arc, where it surrounds Tanjiro and burns Enmu's rope, but doesn't hurt him.
@@natalimoinayes but this is the most recent example
This season is peak.
That was the weirdest interpretation of "you, the sole blemish on my family" I have ever heard lol. Love yalls reactions tho keep it up!
Not to be "that guy" but of all the reactions i've seen for the past year+, this is the first one i've nevebeen in my feels.. coincidence.. its the first dub one i've seen
"the same one she killed earlier" there is a massive time discrepancy in between, at least a hundred years
as someone who's dealt with disassociation i can relate to zenitsu waking up with no memory and suddenly finding his body fucked up and his friends all injured
7:23 finally I found someone who notices
no matter how much i watched this i cant help but cry because it reminds me and sisters
(At 22:17) probably somewhere in the space in between where your judge whether to go to Heaven or Hell?
The dark place was purgatory when gyuataro started walking to the flames that was hell. Heaven was the light . I like that Tanjiro will show empathy to his enemies afyer he defeats them. The demons do deserve to go to hell for what they did.
Im glad that we see three guys improve and get stronger. I swear they always make the hashira likeable.
But in Japanese and other eastern religions hell is temporary so they'll be born once again as brother and sister.
Gyutaro is my favorite upper 6 so far. I love and miss him
Another great episode can't wait for more
Have y’all seen that meme where it liked SpongeBob saying: we did it Patrick, we save the city. And the city is on fire. Edit that new character will be very important also a new trailer show tengen will make an appearance
Good timing on season 3/4 letts. I was finishing the "mu in muichiro" volume 14 of manga
I feel like demon in kny is the meaning of dark side in real life
I cry every single time
The next 11 Saturdays are gonna go so hard
I was going to recommend JJK to you guys after Demon Slayer, but then I remembered you still have swordsmith village to finish ToT
They are watching JJK right after demon slayer anyways
20:28 he wish good life for hissister by making her oiran(prostitute). That's how harsh their life is.
even without demons entertainment district is messed up.
Gyutaro wasn't doubling down at the end. Daki was trying to follow him to Hell when she had a chance to go to Heaven, and he was trying to hurt her feelings enough that she would leave him so she could have a good afterlife in Heaven.
TLDR; Nezuko doesn't heal them, she can only burn the poison from their bodies 😋
I'm sure others have mentioned but its easy to miss!
I think the dub is good but I'm really bummed they rewrote the "measly eyeball" line
She’s not a healer. She’s just burning the demon poison blood.
Doma’s voice in dub 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Stephen fu everyone
now, watch in japanese dubbb.. daki's voice actor is just so good!!
ye if I was them and went thru that I would do the same I don't blame those 2 tbh, and also when it showed the heaven and hell Daki was able to go the light because she didn't choose to be a demon her brother made her one so that's y she was in her human form
Ume means plum. Giving it a name after a disease means that spots on the body with this color appear in sick people. It's not the name of the disease, it's just a symptom. That's probably not what the parent had in mind, but that's what her brother thinks.
Not exactly : 梅毒 (baidoku) means syphillis, it's constructed with two kanji : 梅
(ume) meaning plum, and 毒 (doku) poison. Syphillis symptoms in the mother also explains several things in her brother's appearence, it fits what we know.
Nezuko can't heal remember her little fire power thing only works on demons and the poison she took away is demon poison but it's still pretty OP
I read the manga and am currently watching the anime,
Kenny a few episodes ago: "What if tanjiro turns in to a demon in the future? Like this is a little foreshadowing?"
Me: 😳You do not know how right you are. 😳
Their backstory was really sad!
I just love that Uzui got to retire.
You put episode 18 on the thumbnail I was confused 😭
You guys are awesome!
U guys will cry 10 times more after watching akaza"s back story
nezukos fire only affectys demon cells and since the poison is made with demon cells nezuko just burned away the poison its not really a healing skill
By eating snake and insects gyutarou got the ability of poison resistance and poisoning enemy
It was never about fate
Gyutaro said no matter how many times he was reborn, he’d always be a demon, as in, so long as he was given the choice, he would become a demon, every time
As for Daki, or rather, Ume, she said that no matter what, she’d always be reborn as his sister, she chose to never leave his side, to always be his sister, because she truly loved her brother, and refused to live a life without him
Neither of them regretted anything as they went to hell together, because they would always be together, whether as humans or demons, they would always be brother and sister
Not by fate, but by their own choices
For the record, regular members qualify to be Hashira after being able to beat a lower moon.
This generation as you can tell is Low ranking Hashira level in strength but lack experience.
Like what some other comments said. Nezuko doesnt have any healing powers. Her blood demon art is Exploding blood, which is basically purple fire which only affects demons, or anything demon-related. Nothing human-related, which is also why tanjiro has just passed through her flames undamaged. Gyaturos poision is demon-related which is why inosuke and tengen got ‘’healed.’’
She can’t really heal but her flames will burn any demon including demon poison.
yeah... of course... they lived together for hundreds of years, but they needed Tanjiro's intervention.
Daki(Ume) could’ve actually gone to Heaven/reincarnate. She made the conscious choice to kill people yes but Daki herself didn’t make the choice to become a demon. Gyutaro made the choice for her which intern allows Daki(Ume) to go towards the light.
nezuko is literally plot personified
no cat cameo smh, missing the kittys
Demon slayer series is about to end in 12 weeks, can I say, this channel has a great reaction videos than any other. Kenny Montana sometimes predicts the plot of the animes they watched. Thank you you always giving us best videos.
Can I recommend another anime after demon slayer series
Can you watch "Your Lie in April" or "Akame ga kill"
I won't spoil anything but both animes has a sad ending
To be honest, when I watched this in English Dub, I lost all of my emotions for this episode 😅. I cried when I watched the Japanese Sub 😢
