Thank you for putting this video up. I have a similar unit that doesn’t use MOST but goes through aux input. I have been watching Mr12Volt products on the forums for a while and this was a good video to see its functionality in action
Yeah it does look good, hoping the lack of bass on the v2 is fixed. More importantly though the mic it uses is a shame because the other generic AUX versions use the factory mic which works with steering wheel button
Out of curiosity, can you listen to the FM radio/Sirius while still having carplay selected or is it only your phone's music while in car play mode? Thank you!
Hey there. How's your experience been with this box almost a year later? I just purchased one and have been reading spotty reviews on the forums. Most specifically, and like everybody else, I'm wondering about the audio quality. Do you think it's serviceable? Would love any of your thoughts. Thanks!
Now that you have has it for a while are you still liking it. I am installing this weekend in my 2011. Have all the audio bass issues that were discussed in the M3 forums be fixed?
Yes, I love it. All of the bass issues are fixed with the new model. It sounds fantastic. I am planning on making a follow up video in about a month or so going over the quirks and things I've learned. Traveling too much recently to sit down and pump it out.
Could you do an update video bro, you’ve had the system for 2 months. Would be great to hear the positives and negatives of the new mr12voltsysem. Also was the mic placement ok?
I am out of the country but I will make an update when I get back early October. Mic placement is OK but the mic pics up exhaust noise no matter where you put it. Sounds similar to the OEM mic.
Where did you use the fiber optic Cable and Loop supplied in the kit or if it is even necessary to use? I have an issue with the system not consistently playing audio while on CarPlay. Radio and aux with normal CIC function works but as soon as I head into the mr 12 volt. It may or may not work and I have not been able to find/identify a pattern as to what makes it work or not. But I did not use the FO loop. Car is a e90 with HiFi and no cd changer(I coded)
Take a look at 10:15 ish in the video. I used the single long Y split fiber cable to bridge between the OEM and new system but I didn't have to use the loop. I have not experienced this issue but when I first did the install I had an issue where my phone call audio would swap between CIC and 12volt. I solved when I unpaired my phone with my CIC and then repaired after 12v was running. Also all of the issues I did have went away when I updated my iphone to the latest version. Best of luck man, wish I could help more.
Where did you buy the car play device from? I got the aftermarket screen that has car play, the 1 you have seems way better everything plugs in to OEM, I want it also lol
is there a way to make the original lvds cable (blue end) longer? mine is really short and i can't plug it in the original ccc idrive... I can't pull it any longer here is the problem: ua-cam.com/video/YqhADPziyYM/v-deo.html&t
They are! But to be honest the flat EQ / default settings are 9/10 right out of the box. It sounds incredible without even changing anything so don't let it scare you.
Thank You great video! Have you made progress on your F/U video? I am looking into purchasing one very soon. Thanks 😊

Wq😅😮
Thank you so much
I spent hours only to find out that the new I drive cable needed to be jammed in

Awesome guide and review, man. Thanks for putting in the work.
Thanks for the video, will be installing it today on my 335i hifi with bavsoud speakers, sub and amp. What sound settings you end up with?
At the moment I'm using the flat EQ. Lowkey sounds the best.

Hi, I have an E60 CIC whats the difference from audio_cdc and mp3_cdc?

Thank you, can’t wait for the update video 👌

Talk to me about the EQ settings. Look mega complex.

how did you code the cd changer option in bimmercode?
Headunit -> Expert Mode -> 3000 HMI
Find CDMM_CHANGER_3 option and change it to mp3_cdc
CODE -> START CODING
