As it happens I've just acquired all the parts for retrofitting folding mirrors. Ive got a couple of weeks coming up where I'll be doing the filming for quite a few new videos that'll be released over the next year, and that'll be one of them but I'm not sure when it'll actually be uploaded. More details to come soon 👍
@@adrianharris5481 Sorry for the delay, been a little tied up. OK, so you need the two mirrors and the switch block and some wire and crimps. So the switch block is easy, the part nunmber is 61319217371 (available from both the E89 and E93, but if from an E93 make sure it looks correct). Now the mirrors are a little more difficult to sort out, what you need are 3 pin connections but then you also need them to be Powerfold ones. The part numbers are on a sticker inside the housing, so most sellers just give the number from the arm and that's no use as they are all the same. So you're going to have to rely on the seller stating that they are powerfold. Now to add another bit into the mix, there are also Powerfold with dim dip, but these need to be in association with an interior mirror that has the dim dip facility already. This is the page (bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E89/Europe/Z4_23i-N52N/R-N/jun2011/browse/vehicle_trim/outside_mirror/#7212575_8) that gives you the various part numbers for the mirrors, but only useful if you can determine the part number to start with. Now I've took a gamble as one of mine I've got has the dim dip facility in it, but then I'm also retorfitting the interior mirror as well, so hopefully that'll be OK without the other side, but we'll see once I get these all installed. Oh and on the wiring side you'll need some 0.75 (for positive and negative) and 0.35 (for the linbus wire) I hope that is of help. Not sure when this will be uploaded though.
Very similar, with the new version, instead of connecting to the iDrive controller, you have a Y cable that plugs into the rear of the headunit. This saves you the trouble of removing some trim, just though that it's a lot tighter behind the unit due to this new cable.
Absolutely priceless tutorial many thanks please keep doing any helpful advice videos
Nice to see you again! I pray to see more of your videos. Fresh air for our Z4. Thank you!
Thank you. Got more videos to make but it's finding the time to do them unfortunately.
I mounted mine along the fuse box to have access without unmounting glove box, it's a banger
It would be nice if you can hook up the microphone to the Oem microphone 🎤
@Tracertme you can only the new version box.
New updated video coming soon.
Hi, great videos, really helpful. Do you have any plans or details regarding retro fitting folding door mirrors. Ady
