Drifter jumpjets made LA my go-to infantry class when not dealing with any specific threat, they are fantastic in evolving the flanking/planning/scheming playstyle of the LA, one short thing to say about them that I don't think you mentioned: if you're trying to scale a mostly vertical surface that has some slope to it, like a rock/hossin tree/most cliffs/some buildings, then you can W into them and scale them a lot faster than you could if you just relied on your standard upwards thrust when not pressing any direction buttons. You're only a target when hovering mid-air if you do so at the altitudes people look for light assaults, instead, get to a high vantage point and drift very high up in the air to your desired flanking location, usually locations that other LA can't reach because they simply don't have the long-range mobility to get there without ending up against enemies due to fuel problems. Going for the long+high flank is fantastic for busting entrenched sunderers (you usually need a burst or two of your rocklet rifle as well against sundies) or careful tank mains, they simply don't expect a player to be 100 meter above them with no nearby buildings or normally jet pack scalable rocks. Another thing you can do with drifts is to simply hang in dead angles (areas where the enemies can't see you unless you go up or down), like large base towers between the second and third floor (the first floor being the entrance and having the elevators).
A bit late to respond but here I am. Some of the most fun I've had in game has been riding in a battle galaxy, which looks for vehicles that the gunners slowly chip away at. Anyone not in a gun can go light assault with drifter jets and C4(Called a C4 "Fairy"). Watch your map for when you are right above an enemy vehicle, and hop out. Hit your jets as close to the ground as you are comfortable and drop your C4 from above. Redeploy back into the Galaxy for more C4 and repeat. On lucky runs I've taken out small armor columns with 2-3 light assault units. I can only imagine how satisfying it is for the Galaxy driver to see the Transport Assist XP shortly after we hop out. Also lets you jump out and drift with your Rocklet rifle to dissuade enemy aircraft from your Galaxy.
I played a lot of engineer in my first couple of years of PlanetSide and I found that my favorite way to play engineer was to jump into a lightning and use it in very much the same way that light assault is used but on the scale of armor. When I came to the realization that I prefer to use my engineer for flanking I decided to try out light assault. Since then I have mostly played light assault. Finding an angle and forcing an enemy to turn their attention away from the main body of your army really is an awful lot of fun. Maybe you rack up the kills yourself because the enemy is focused on where are the other infantry are. Maybe you get iced but the main Infantry clean up the area because of your sacrifice. Either way, the battlefield has changed from your action. Great class and great video
Thanks to your insane FOV, I have just discovered that your planetman actually tosses the mag away when using the pdw. (11:54) And I've been playing this game for quite some time now. (ps4) The more you know!
Suppression is often often overlooked for LAs, but run suppressors on your weapons when possible as a LA. Concealing your position is super important, as loosing your element of surprise gives up the main advantage of this class. Sensor Shield implant has great synergy with LA's running suppressors. You won't show up on recon devices while getting into position anymore, which is going to GREATLY increase your survivability and chances of setting up a favorable encounter (enemy either totally unaware, or aware but does not know your location). Also allows you to set up pretty devastating C4 traps, get directly behind choke positions and fire at the backs of a tons of enemy heads grouped behind it. Definitely run Sensor Shield as one of your two implants for LA.
Tip from a LA Ambusher main if your looking to get into them. While your not as able to climb with them as a Skirmisher or Icarus pack if you know what to look for the maps are actually designed fairly well that you can navigate most buildings in a few jumps. Many buildings have angled roofs that allow you to jump up and kinda push yourself over onto the top the last few seconds of your burst, likewise a lot of taller buildings have various smaller buildings or objects that you can jump onto and then onto the taller building from. A good example of the former would be the buildings with a bridge connecting the larger building to a crescent building and sometimes a web of beams overhead, the larger building has a low point between it's two "roofs" right above one of the door ways that you can get up to with the Ambushers, likewise the balcony on the crescent building is accessible due to the sloped roof. A lot of using Ambushers is just reading the terrain looking for things that you can jump on or over, it's a very high mobility jetpack that demands a high mobility play style with a mindset that compliments it, and with basically requiring safefall to get the most out of it you are also a dare devil and a risk taker, once you get safefall high enough do NOT be afraid to take a fall from any height to get away from something, get to something or relocate. The only time you will have to worry about that is if you are jumping off the highest structures in the game (Tech Plants, Biolabs, rock bridges, air towers, etc) and even then you can usually midigate that by bursting a few seconds before hitting the ground, and at the highest levels safefall will still take most the brunt and at most you'll loose your shield. Also another less detailed but all the more valuable tip: Learn to use rooftops as cover. They aern't just your friend, their your best friend that will take hits for you if need be. Using those angled roof edges I mentioned to expose as little of you as possible and simply backing up when at the edge of a flat roof can completely obstruct an enemies view of you. If you REALLY need to duck out though back up a few steps and crouch, that's something I learned when dealing with people who are really good at headshots, because just backing up will leave your head exposed just long enough for them to get you.
@@mas0ny149 I've only ever really used it on drifters. But I have heard that it makes it much easier to get in and out. Probably couldn't hurt to experiment with it when you have the certs.
@@mas0ny149 Yeah, hear ya there. All I can really say is that to start out skirimishers aern't a bad idea, they teach ya good rooftop play and flanking. If anything I'd put certs into nanoweave or if you'd rather make an investment into making more certs play medic or engineer and upgrade your medical/repair tool when and where you can. Just be sure to only revive people when it's both safe for you to revive them and safe for them to be revived, no point reviving someone only to get shot or them die right after being revived.
Great vid - i've played a metric shitload of light assault (almost always my first auraxium on characters), and this guide is solid all around. I think I would add some notes about the mindset behind the class. I think that to spite the fact that light assault shares part of its name with heavy assault, LA is actually a fair bit closer to playing infiltrator. You really have to pick your engagements and capitalise on the mayhem in order to get the most out of this class. The lack of nanoregen / overshield means that, unless you score huge initial damage, you typically cannot win against a HA or combat medic. Thus, giving yourself that element of surprise and being able to pick your engagements is key to coming out on top. While the infiltrator gets his cloak, you get the manoeuvrability - how you use it is what makes the difference between a great LA and a terrible one. For instance, besides flanking, having an escape route at all times is your best bet for staying alive. That, and not being lazy - like you said, you should always be on the move and never staying in one place for too long. Overall, love the vid and everything you've been doing to teach new/returning players. keep up the great work! (P.S. - Gotta Love the moukass call out ! (that guy is one hell of a L.A. player)) o7
Cheers for the feedback mate! Definitely agree on the whole mentality side of things, the class is very much an agent of chaos when played correctly and to do so, you really need to get in that headspace that you outlined above. Apprecaite the input mate!
FYI jump-pads+LA = Slingshotting. It is known. AFAIK, at least on Waterson, I was the first one doing it with drifters. That was before the drifters got buffed a little so you could jump over shit. Now with Catlike 5 I never leave home without drifters, catlike, and minor cloak. Basically it makes you the Predator. Add the Eclipse VE3 and you have infinite ammo for your carbine. Then with ASP you can add an SMG as secondary for an extremely deadly loadout.
I'll have to disagree with you on the Icarus jets: in my opinion, they're better than skirmishers in 90% of scenarios if you learn the mechanics. The reason it feels like they don't have any horizontal movement is because of a mechanic called horizontal air braking. Basically, every jump jet has a max horizontal speed, and Icarus has the lowest one. If you try to use your jump jets to accelerate when you are flying faster than the speed cap, it will actually reduce your speed. The way to counteract this is to aim perpendicular to the direction of your movement so you aren't attempting to increase your forward movement. If you do a sprint jump and use that initial velocity to carry you horizontally, you can move just as fast as the skirmishers. Once you have that mechanic mastered, Icarus is just faster. It has about the same horizontal movement (although it is a bit slower to change directions mid air) and it accelerates you much faster vertically. Aside from the ambushers, this is the only jet that is fast enough to be used in a gunfight to throw off your opponent's aim. If you learn surfing, which is a more advanced technique, you can reach really fast horizontal speeds as well which allows you to have very quick rollouts. When combined with punisher jumping, you can cross insane distances in a few seconds.
Duuuude I'm almost certain that I was at that Hossin fight that starts at 11:50, that was super intense. Your POV is crazy, I need to upload mine, I had a ton of fun. I think I was playing NC also but I don't remember. If it wasn't this fight it was a very similar situation haha, that's such an interesting base to fight at. Great guide too. 2.5k hours in game but I still enjoy watching videos like this for others' takes on how they play etc.
Notes, for the jump pad drifting, hold forward (and obviously jump). This works, because of how velocity is handled in planetside, because holding forward makes your momentum based on where you are looking at approach maximum speed. If you are over this maximum speed, you will slow down. However, this slowing down does not apply to left and right momentum, so you keep that when you perform this action. Its also why you should start at roughly the apex of your jump
Thank you. Recently ive got with some luck the NV Implant and didnt know what to do with it. Yesterday i got everything together on my Light Assault and the chaos on the Battlefield you can archive with smoke is insane. Never saw so many teamkills outside of the usual NC battle.
In making these videos have you considered reaching out to the wider community of skilled players? There are some clear points in this video where they could clear up misinformation and provide advice on improving your content. Two quick examples of this being your statements on Iccarus - regarding horizontal movement and it being incredibly situational (this would suit your tips and tricks section, as the concept of jetting into angled terrain is relevant for all jumpjets). Secondly, looking at a prior video, nowhere in your medic video is it mentioned that activating your "F heal" before reviving roughly halves the time to revive. Little tips and tricks like these some of the best players of their class would be happy to tell you and would lend legitimacy to your guides. As it stands the community of skilled players are strongly against recommending your guides to new players, as all they appear to offer is a very basic understanding of game packaged in a long video. Tldr please reach out to the community of skilled players. We'd love to help large content creators like yourself improve the quality of your content.
I think its awesome you're giving us current videos for Planetside 2. Its kind of hard sifting through all the old videos (good as they are) and wondering if some of the things are outdated. Years of patches and such.
Been playing since Beta, and have come back to the game now and then. In my experience, Light Assaults (LAs) work best (as with all classes) when the enemy is busy with your teammates. It is much easier to flank as an LA on your own, and it's absolutely brutal when you're assaulting behind a contested frontline. Like the MAX, you can be the difference between a stalemate and a decisive assault/defense. A good flank in the right place and right time can break enemy resistance, just as a frontal assault by just one supported MAX can break the enemy. NEVER take a heavy class head-on if you don't have the clear advantage over them. Heavies are your worst nightmare in a head-to-head fight as they move too fast for a cheeky clutch C4 to take them out. Your advantage is always mobility, learn how to get in and get out of combat. LAs are not made to massacre entire enemy positions (though they can, but good luck doing that successfully on a consistent basis). Your role is distracting and messing with the enemy (much like an Infiltrator with more firepower) -- weakening your enemy's flank enough can force them to divert attention to you. The moment your enemy knows you're around, GET OUT -- you've done your job, and it's up to your team to push the advantage. That's all!!
@@tydwill2009 I can't testify if that's true, but as a former cadet, I can definitely say I'd prefer our bootcamp over having to re-learn the mechanics of PS2 hahaha
hey Cami , just wanted to say thanks allot for your video on the light assault, since watching this i actually became a threat on the battlefield, thanks again mate, have a good one
I never liked light assualt, but recently i had a daily quest, i was on a hillside battle and i had more kills in that life then i ever had in one life, in the end i had 58 kills, it made it easy to avoid deathtraps and chokepoints without taking 30 min detours on foot
I just use the NS-66 Punisher's specialized launcher to fly with. If you look behind you fast and shoot the launcher you can get a huge boost sometimes
Long time light assault main here, one of my favorite tricks is if you see a max run and wait around a corner, and drop the c4 on their head as they approach thinking they’re in for a free kill. Also, use this class to clean out that hill of pesky infiltrators
Any time you're jump-jetting, using the movement keys doesn't add to your existing momentum, it begins overwriting it. This is most noticeable when jumppad catapulting, but it also applies in general. Skirmisher jumpjets only move you horizontally at about walking speed, but if you sprint off a roof and jumpjet sideways without using movement keys, you can jumpjet at sprint speed or higher by slingshotting with gravity. Also, C4 is finicky when used on moving vehicles. Try to use it on stationary or slow-moving ones, otherwise it may not deal full damage. Along with that, you can detonate and throw a brick at the same time, so you may sometimes want to detonate the first brick while throwing the second, rather than trying to plant both and then detonate them. Many LA mains recommend using the Symbiote implant for its 20% smalls arms reduction so that you can use the suit slot for Flight Suit, Grenade Bandolier, or other items instead of Nanoweave Vest. Symbiote is pretty rare though, I don't have it yet.
Icarus is personally my favorite. If I Enter a building and am outnumbered. I quickly rush out and boost to the roof in literally a second. This gives me time to drop a c4 before the enemy chases me out the door and I blow them to bits.
i personally use the mod that turn you invisible when you take fall damages instead of safe fall, paired with the epic mode that give you higher shield at the cost of health with a shootgun, its quite fun to use
I would actually like to share a loadout.: Aerial Anomalies: Some kind of a carbine Hunter with explosive bolts Rocklet Rifle with Locklets Drifter Jumpjets Flight suit so it will last longer or ammunition belt Frag Grenade C4 Basic Knife Implants are personal opinion. I like to pull a reaver when aerial anomalies start and when I go down I quickly jump out activate my jets and get my locklet rifle after that the hunter and then the carbine, if any aircraft gets really close or is standing in the air I go up to them and throw some C4.
I be rocking the ambusher jets though, maxed out all the gear yesterday and it is a BLAST, I love being able to jump straight onto peoples heads and blast em right in the face
Hey man, this is mostly a great guide for newer players. Something you might not be aware of: Skirmisher and ASC do NOT stack in reducing shield recharge delay. While ASC still provides some benefit in the form of recharge speed, it's generally not advised to run both.
I find the Typhoon rocklets to be a good upgrade because its most often used against vehicles and these dumbfire HEAT rounds do much more damage. 90% bet, if you detonate a C4 on a vehicle, they'll instantly try to run and wont fight back which gives you plenty of time to put 2 salvo's of typhoon rocklets into it, killing it. and now you've got another C4 for the party bus.
Ugh I hate these series. Everytime I watch you play my mind just says "looks so cool. Lets 'main' this class", but my certs say "nah man you already spent your certs" :D Great vid as always. Btw as a returning player I have this memory that there was a skill so that the enemies wont see the kill cam or was it some other game?
This is more for mid game, but if you get an S version of your carabine, you can get a Smoke launcher and carry any other grenade that you want. Also, and this is more in emergency, blast a volley of rocklets on maxes, it is better from behind since the max will have to urn around
Did the infil guide get deleted? I'm noticing a deleted vid in the guides playlist. If not, any chance of making a vid on a knifer / scout style infil alongside the usual "sniper vs smg" infil vids? Here's hoping that stealth caps come back, really sucks to come back after an absence and find they've gone. That being said, I've just started playing Light Assault recently and I'm finding this guide p useful :)
Unless it was patched out, you can “climb” vertical structures and surfaces with the Drifter jumpjets by mashing yourself against said surface, then holding W and Space. I just love the Drifters since they give you a “freerunner” feel lol
Excellent rocklet shot in the beginning. Coming back to PS2 after however long it was since construction was first put in, the rocklet rifle confused, scared and annoyed me, and I thought I was gonna hate it. My opinion had reversed quite quickly.
20:40 I'm having a lot of fun moments with something very similar to your Surprise loadout. But it indeed took some time to get used to the jumping distances and heights, the recharge, the landing .. also, not fan of shotguns
There was this one guy (an enemy) in the crater looking area I was defending and basicaly all I saw was a rain of damage and in the dieing animation my killer flying over head. Drift jets are basicaly op when you are coming from high ground
One of my favorite tips with LA is to not drain your jumpjet completely as it regens significantly faster without the delay that happens when they get fully drained.
I find the Icarus useful for gaining high ground fast or countering enemies on the high ground, it’s also pretty useful for those sudden vertical ambushes, you can scale walls faster than a fully upgraded skirmisher which makes escaping faster. It’s pretty great imo
The light assault using agility to it’s advantage and when done right are pretty powerful and with versatile carbines and throw in a jet pack and you’ve got one hell of an annoying little shit to deal with
ENZAK has an Icarus jump jet loadout for VS which abuses the Horizon's accuracy and is one of the only loadouts where the Amaterasu knife is seriously good. Check out his video on it. There are no equivalent guns on TR or NC, but you could always use your most accurate SMG for similar performance.
Icarius is very great becuase your enemy rarly see it in actions. In short term they just dont know how to deal with it. Just like when the ns max was released. It was to overpowering because no one knew how to deal with them. But at this time they are alot more easier to deal with. I recommendnd using on brigdes fights to take care of those enemy light assults quickly after finding them and biolabs to get up fast. I find to many people taking for ever to get up high, which takes a long time and is easy prey. But with the icarius no need to worry.
Don't need luck for a mid-air kill. Depending what carbine you're using, you can accurately take out enemies up to 30m away while mid-air, and reliably take out enemies in the 10-20m range
CAMIKAZE78, i was excited seeing you use the NSX Tanto on the minute 4:00, but seeing you used it in the way i didnt meant to dissapointed me :C i was specting to you use the scope then jetpacking while holding it, its the only way the weapon is accurate midair, maybe you didnt understood while i explained the mechanic, anyways, thanks to at least try :p (Explanation what i mean: Jetpacking without scope = 1.5 CoF arround and 0.24 Bloom Jetpacking with scope = 0 CoF and 0.06 Bloom)
That doesnt seem right, the tanto I'm my opinion is a mix between a shotgun and an SMg, it has spread from the get go and flying aimed 0 spread makes no sense, maybe I'm wrong tho
@@sheepieworks4974 Tanto is more like a high precision NS-11C but weaker in every single aspect, saying is a shotgun/SMG is totally wrong cause this weapon is the worst for close quarter combat, even weaker than a pistol, the flying accuracy i think is a hidden feature
Im a fairly new player and have a question regarding different classes/characters. I have my character on level 13 now I think and have played mainly Heavy Assault. So I already have spent some certs for that. Should I make a new character now to paly another class or just stick to my existing character and just change the class and buy upgrades with earned certs?
im gonna try to stay away from c4... last time i used it and killed multiple things it wasnt the intented target. instead it was every single teammate in the area
If we’re talking asp, I would take the concussion grenade over msg secondary. Use it with grenade bandolier and you can quite literally walk into the point among stunned enemies. Works well with shotgun CQC + ambushed.
Do not spend your ASP on concussion grenades. ASP are best used for primary weapons in the secondary slot. You will get the most value out of the extra weapon opportunities than a grenade.
Question to vets and people who know stuff. Is adrenaline pump any good? Personaly I prefer to take 20% smal arms dmg reduction but I'm casual so mayby it's useful.
Adrenaline pump is good on special implant builds. The one required implant to use it is symbiote. This still give you the 20% resistance, while giving you the extra speed.
The reason I suggest it is that in the past (don't know if it is the same case now), I have always taken damage from not just high places, but using the Ambushers as intended and having the terrain dip slightly. It just gives the Ambushers a little more adaptability without injuring you I think.
I play Light assault sparingly mostly due to me being a Heavy and a Engi armor main so C4 Fairies have left bad tastes in my mouth so I feel dirty playing it at times
"nooooooo you can't just ignore my entire defense and drift through my base noooooooooooo" Haha drifter jets go P-Fshhhhhhhhhhhhhh (Really good vid man, keep it up)
I love them for one purpose. I hide in gaps on buildings or terrain, then launch myself right up next to enemy ESFs and drop c4 on them as they go past.
I'll add that this is not effective at all, takes a ton of patience and trial and error. But my god is it fun and it can really trigger some people when some little shit just appears in front of their cockpit holding C4

(that guy is one hell of a L.A. player))

Cheers for the feedback mate! Definitely agree on the whole mentality side of things, the class is very much an agent of chaos when played correctly and to do so, you really need to get in that headspace that you outlined above. Apprecaite the input mate!
I've invented a play style that is more confrontational than heavy or max with a LA
You can go head to head with a full squad and maxes with the victory.
You can use catlike to increase the dodging ability head to head. The rest you'll have to discover
14:51 LOL that was me that got you! :D
Never saw so many teamkills outside of the usual NC battle.
smoke brings chaors to a new lvl

Didn't know about the medic trick
My boot camp in the Navy which lasted 2 weeks was easier than becoming a decent PlanetSide 2 soldier . Last thing to mention is i love this game.
The best intro song I've heard on a Planetside 2 channel. : )
I just use the NS-66 Punisher's specialized launcher to fly with. If you look behind you fast and shoot the launcher you can get a huge boost sometimes
OMG YES Camikaze i was waiting for this series man, i cannot wait till combat medic and heavy assault , today is the update day !
Combat Medic has been done boss, check the description to check it out :)
@@CAMIKAZE78 Waiting on heavy assault too! Though I've never tried Light Assault. I'm kind of curious to try it now though.
My most played and favourite class. Just got the auraxium armour for it on my VS character.
Well played mate! o7
That last build seems pretty fun. Thanks for the video.
Long time light assault main here, one of my favorite tricks is if you see a max run and wait around a corner, and drop the c4 on their head as they approach thinking they’re in for a free kill. Also, use this class to clean out that hill of pesky infiltrators
At first I thought you said, "By getting our teeth into the life of salt." and I couldn't stop laughing. Sums up playing LA perfectly.
How to play Light Assault
Step 01: have a squad
Step 02: charge into the enemy
Step 03: scream "FOR DA EMPEROR"
Oh shoot wrong game XD
Sounds like the right game to me!
We are all guardsmen, and the enemy is that tau that was bragging about being ranged focused
"If you just hate EVERYONE! Friends and foe alike!" Hahahahahahaha nice one.
Lemme just flashbang the corridor yall are fighting at lol.
Icarus is personally my favorite. If I Enter a building and am outnumbered. I quickly rush out and boost to the roof in literally a second. This gives me time to drop a c4 before the enemy chases me out the door and I blow them to bits.
i personally use the mod that turn you invisible when you take fall damages instead of safe fall, paired with the epic mode that give you higher shield at the cost of health
with a shootgun, its quite fun to use
I would actually like to share a loadout.:
Aerial Anomalies:
Some kind of a carbine
Hunter with explosive bolts
Rocklet Rifle with Locklets
Drifter Jumpjets
Flight suit so it will last longer or ammunition belt
Frag Grenade
C4
Basic Knife
Implants are personal opinion.
I like to pull a reaver when aerial anomalies start and when I go down I quickly jump out activate my jets and get my locklet rifle after that the hunter and then the carbine, if any aircraft gets really close or is standing in the air I go up to them and throw some C4.
You van Aldo use a carabine that allow you to use the grande launcher atachement to maximise your E X P L O S I V E N E S S !

Do note: The Aerial Anomalies event has been removed on PC post-Escalation.
DRIFTERS BEST JETS, BEEN USING SINCE THEY CAME OUT, WITH SAFE FALL IT TURNS THE GAME INTO TRIBES
I be rocking the ambusher jets though, maxed out all the gear yesterday and it is a BLAST, I love being able to jump straight onto peoples heads and blast em right in the face
The icasus is useful because if u have a shotgun and u manage to run into enemys go up high quickly to avoid fire and aim down to do a headshot
Man the chaos loadout is very creative and seems really fun to use. Can't wait to try it out. Great vid as always
No, the kill cam is always on. Most people ignore it, but don't get too comfortable.
Nothing in the game yet to mitigate the killcam, but we can only dream! Thanks for the feedback mate :)
CAMIKAZE78 I often get the bug after death that auto spawns me or cuts out the kill cam / score card and puts me right into spawn location map 😂
actually emp grenades (and I think flash) blurs out the kill cams so it does kind of stop it
This is more for mid game, but if you get an S version of your carabine, you can get a Smoke launcher and carry any other grenade that you want.
Awesome guide!!
To hear that come from a LA legend like yourself, I really appreciate that mate! Thanks for the feedback :)
C4 + Rocklet Rifle with those +damage Heads, +Ambusher +Suit = insane vehicle killer
Watching this guy play light assault is well, humbling
What FOV do you play with? Seems a lot higher than default FOV.
for the last loadout... I also suggest bringing the one shot kill knife of your prespective faction. you'll have a hell of a time there trust me ;)
Unless it was patched out, you can “climb” vertical structures and surfaces with the Drifter jumpjets by mashing yourself against said surface, then holding W and Space.
Gotta love smokespam.
When you're the one doing it.
It is a one sided benefit unless you coordinate with your allies... I will say that much. It's kinda why I called it a "Chaotic Neutral" class :)
Smoking out heavily populated strongpoints is p much the only reason to ever use smokespam.
Or flash mobs.
20:40 I'm having a lot of fun moments with something very similar to your Surprise loadout. But it indeed took some time to get used to the jumping distances and heights, the recharge, the landing .. also, not fan of shotguns
Same, for my version of the "Surprise" loadout I normally run just the standard Carbine and Pistol, and my focus is on using one of the power knives.
There was this one guy (an enemy) in the crater looking area I was defending and basicaly all I saw was a rain of damage and in the dieing animation my killer flying over head. Drift jets are basicaly op when you are coming from high ground
Great video can't wait for a HA guide
One of my favorite tips with LA is to not drain your jumpjet completely as it regens significantly faster without the delay that happens when they get fully drained.
I find the Icarus useful for gaining high ground fast or countering enemies on the high ground, it’s also pretty useful for those sudden vertical ambushes, you can scale walls faster than a fully upgraded skirmisher which makes escaping faster.
It’s pretty great imo
Agreed, i use them with a cqc carbine and everytime i encounter a enemy i just fly up fast and hipfire headshot them
The light assault using agility to it’s advantage and when done right are pretty powerful and with versatile carbines and throw in a jet pack and you’ve got one hell of an annoying little shit to deal with
ENZAK has an Icarus jump jet loadout for VS which abuses the Horizon's accuracy and is one of the only loadouts where the Amaterasu knife is seriously good. Check out his video on it. There are no equivalent guns on TR or NC, but you could always use your most accurate SMG for similar performance.
Man, you are so badass. You make it look so easy!
Pressing control and jump with drifter will actually allow you to move faster than running also ignoring small bumps like rocks
Nice little cameo of Cami intentionally standing on a plasma grenade in the middle. XD
Look... A panicked Cami isn't always a Cami that deals with reason :)
Added in the best of playlist!
Depending what carbine you're using, you can accurately take out enemies up to 30m away while mid-air, and reliably take out enemies in the 10-20m range
great video! ive played for some years now but im still confused about the implant system. whats the fastest way to get the night vision implant?
I'm not versed in this but I think you have to pay real life money for it
Excellent job
CAMIKAZE78, i was excited seeing you use the NSX Tanto on the minute 4:00, but seeing you used it in the way i didnt meant to dissapointed me :C i was specting to you use the scope then jetpacking while holding it, its the only way the weapon is accurate midair, maybe you didnt understood while i explained the mechanic, anyways, thanks to at least try :p
(Explanation what i mean:
Jetpacking without scope = 1.5 CoF arround and 0.24 Bloom
Jetpacking with scope = 0 CoF and 0.06 Bloom)
That doesnt seem right, the tanto I'm my opinion is a mix between a shotgun and an SMg, it has spread from the get go and flying aimed 0 spread makes no sense, maybe I'm wrong tho
@@sheepieworks4974 Tanto is more like a high precision NS-11C but weaker in every single aspect, saying is a shotgun/SMG is totally wrong cause this weapon is the worst for close quarter combat, even weaker than a pistol, the flying accuracy i think is a hidden feature
@@sheepieworks4974 You're thinking of the tengu
Does the shield regen delay reduction in Survivalist stack with Adv. Shield Capacitors? I thought they didn't.
Do you still recommend Survivalist after the nerf for the skirmisher setup?
I'd suggest ambush jets as they are very good at escaping, engaging, and mobility
I feel like I'm gonna see myself dying in this video lol
I think in some of previous patch notes was mentioned that survivalist and advanced shield capacitor don't stack their recharge times

how can i increase my fov more than the game provides in the settings?
Im a fairly new player and have a question regarding different classes/characters. I have my character on level 13 now I think and have played mainly Heavy Assault. So I already have spent some certs for that. Should I make a new character now to paly another class or just stick to my existing character and just change the class and buy upgrades with earned certs?
Hey Camikaze78 did you make a Heavy Assault Guide?
I can do a quick HA guide for you:
1. Press "F"
2. Celebrate
im gonna try to stay away from c4... last time i used it and killed multiple things it wasnt the intented target. instead it was every single teammate in the area
Oh,Your a Light assault main?
Name every Implant only a Light assault can use
Ive read adv shield and survivalist aren't stackable. What's the truth?
If we’re talking asp, I would take the concussion grenade over msg secondary. Use it with grenade bandolier and you can quite literally walk into the point among stunned enemies. Works well with shotgun CQC + ambushed.
Do not spend your ASP on concussion grenades. ASP are best used for primary weapons in the secondary slot. You will get the most value out of the extra weapon opportunities than a grenade.
Thank you!
I don't use safe fall with ambusher. It's totally doable. If I need to jump down from high places I just use the ambusher to land down. No problem.
The reason I suggest it is that in the past (don't know if it is the same case now), I have always taken damage from not just high places, but using the Ambushers as intended and having the terrain dip slightly. It just gives the Ambushers a little more adaptability without injuring you I think.
yeah @@CAMIKAZE78 is right -- on totally flat ground, holding Ambushers thrust for the full duration will leave you with ~100 damage from the fall.
How do you get the cyclone?
Light assaults would be 10x less powerful if I could climb up a 15 degree slope as any other class, but unfortunately I need a jetpack to do that
I play Light assault sparingly mostly due to me being a Heavy and a Engi armor main so C4 Fairies have left bad tastes in my mouth so I feel dirty playing it at times
Organised platoons doing drifter jet C4 fairies is premium fertilised dirt.

Icarus jets need some kind of change, for sure.
