    • @Better578
      @Better578 4 роки тому +3

      Most guns are just sidegrades of each other, the default weapons in several cases are the best available, like the Orion for the VS heavy.

    • @ThomasSorensen1
      @ThomasSorensen1 4 роки тому +22

      @@Better578 Yeah, but as I have played more and gotten better at earning certs I noticed more how each weapon does have a different feel, and in certain fights may be more or less effective. Or some guns might only be effective in certain niche situations they can be a lot of fun to use when you get the chance. It helps keep the game more fresh for me and more exciting when fights change and you're tweaking your loadout as quick as you can before your redeploy

    • @nokta7373
      @nokta7373 4 роки тому +2

      Guns are tricky since their effectiveness really depends on the situation. While some weapons are undoubtedly hot garbage, rating other ones isn't that easy since one might be a close range beast but suck at range while another could be the exact opposite. You'd need to make a lot of distinctions then which would make a tier-list kinda pointless.

    A note on Symbiote: When used with Bionics your health only ticks down once to 50 hp + 900 shield. Its incredibly good on shield regen medics, combat engineers and LA's

    • @AMDeZani
      @AMDeZani 4 роки тому +7

      That’s not true. Symbiote still can’t kill you, but it reduces you to 1 HP, not 50. As for medics and light assaults... the issue with the former is a crippling vulnerability to EMP grenades, and with the latter, the Light Assault implant arena is SO competitive that you seriously can’t afford Bionics in many situations.

    • @BSEUNHIR
      @BSEUNHIR 4 роки тому +1

      Another, much more important note on Symbiote: It only ticks down your health if you equip it while being alive. Redeploying stops the tick, ez bug.

    • @JohnFromAccounting
      @JohnFromAccounting 4 роки тому +8

      Incorrect. It ticks down to 1HP in one tick. The downside on Bionics is not EMP grenades. You can avoid that and play around it. The biggest problem is that you are revived by medics with 100HP and die to everything in the game. You cannot accept revives unless you are in a completely safe location. The danger of EMPs is vastly, vastly overstated.

    • @AMDeZani
      @AMDeZani 4 роки тому +2

      Shane Bradman If you’re in any sort of moderately sized fight, there is a notable chance of you being EMPed as soon as a push comes in, and that means you’re now down to 100 health. Of course it’s not going to happen in every fight at all, but to just dismiss that weakness is essentially blind fanboyism for Bionics.

    • @JohnFromAccounting
      @JohnFromAccounting 4 роки тому +4

      @@AMDeZani If a fight is big enough for EMPs to be spammed, you should have no problem getting good flanks and killing a dozen guys. Don't go through obvious pathways because that's where EMPs get thrown. If you're finding EMPs to be a problem, your playstyle is not making use of Bionics.

    LA + High Dps Burst weapon + Ambusher jets + Flight suit + Safe fall + health regen.
    No joke you can make it across most points in 2 or 3 jumps. Now add map geometry like hossin or structures like a crown, you are king of mobility.
    Health regen is to help avoid being tied to medics and embrace the mobility and constant movement, and safe fall is pretty much so you can fall and jump crazy distances without having to waste your jump on decelerating or for again, those crazy high ambushes down into target.
    Fun and super fast paced playstyle highly reccomend if you're a heavy assult stuck in the ground like I used to be.

    Safefall is A tier meta if running as an engineer pilot, especially at max level as it allows you to bail and survive in many situations. Otherwise it's usefulness is limited (although on stalker infiltrator tower stomping you can drop from top to bottom and take zero damage, which is neat for evasion but probably less useful than other things)

    • @TrueFlameslinger
      @TrueFlameslinger 3 роки тому +1

      As a pilot I prefer just going down with the ESF. Noseguns are terribly hard to aurax and having counter-intel/target focus/ammo printer is so much more useful to being able to take and survive engagements than losing and having to bail out (Or just plain die)

    • @LCInfantry

      @@LCInfantry yeah, I personally prefer Target Focus and either Ammo Printer or Counter Intelligence. Besides, ESFs cost more than respawns, even when pulling from my own silo

    • @Kevin-kf9ct
      @Kevin-kf9ct 3 роки тому

      @@LCInfantry Because nothing else really helps that much. I run Target Focus in the other slot and if I have Counter Intelligence I'll take it on A2A builds, but Ammo Printer is in practice of little utility if you have ammo mostly maxed out - apart from LOLpods nothing has an ammo pool that is limiting if you sink certs in.
      For A2G builds I'll equip AV Mines and sometimes mine carrier maxed too. If you're going up against armour with Hornets then if you do over extend then bailing appropriately allows for all sorts of creative mine placement - on occasions taken out three or more MBTs after bailing into the middle of an armour zerg. C4 on really tough sundies can be useful too, Start at max targeting altitude, alternate hornets and AI nosegun all the way down then bail at the end and deliver the finisher with a brick C4.
      Dropping into an infantry fight is less interesting, but those mines can get max kills and as I have ASP an LMG on an engineer when you bail behind the front line can net a few satisfying kills, especially if you take a camo that doesn't shout your faction.
      Certainly safefall just to bail and redeploy isn't much use, but with a bit of creativity over where you bail it gives you options that after equipping target focus that are superior to any other implant on a pilot build.

    Hurts to see Catlike in C. But it make sense, I guess. You really need to unlock rank 5 in order to benefit from it. When you do tho, it opens up so many ways to play that it's a complete game changer for an experienced player that know how to move around a base. The numbers of people I smoked in 1v1 by jumping on a box I shouldn't be able to jump upon? Priceless. Can't live without it now and when I go Carapace + Combat Surgeon on my medic I really, really, really miss it. Catlike is love Catlike is life. Also, Carapace + Combat Surgeon is an S tier combo for Medic especially with resto kits. Just pop a restokit before engaging, pop your AoE heal and go. Really makes you super tanky and you can easily take on fully shielded heavies in 1v1.

    I know this video is old but for anyone who stumbles their way here, Safe Fall is a MUST for endgame Light assault with maxxed Ambusher jets. Obviously the point of LA is that you have verticallity on your side, not only can you go up but you must be able to go down safely too, I cant begin to tell you the amazing flanks and positions you can get yourself into by making those HUGE ambusher jumps from a high place - it brings a truly unique playstyle to the game with great effectiveness. and having safe vertical travel is a massive advantage over other players especially when you are getting out of the heat with your jump jets. Safe fall is VITAL for light assualt ambusher jets.

    Hey Cami, I was fully expecting to disagree with the majority of the list as tier lists are usually very opinionated. However, I must say that with the help of your livestream's chat, you guys did an absolutely amazing job and I agreed with just about the entire list. Two things I would change up however, would be two exceptionals which if you get lucky and receive them, are definitely worth using. In both cases, they are NOT designed for the main frontline combat scenario, but as soon as you are engaging sidelines, they are both easily A-B tier, edging towards S.
    - Minor cloak - this thing is amazing when you are behind enemy lines in a great position, and suddenly have 3-4 people hunting you. I've lost count of how many times this in combination with ammo printer has allowed me to double my killstreaks as light assault. Furthermore, it's surprisingly good with infiltrator snipers - allows you to permanently peek and take your time finding targets and assessing the situation. It basically results in having stalker cloak with a sniper.
    - Counter intelligence - people have gotten used to Q-spotting a lot more than a few years back, and following that, have become used to relying on their minimaps. Once again, when in a side-engagement position you get spotted, you HAVE to know that it's time to disengage. To be perfectly honest with you, I would take this implant over ANY other implant in this scenario. It requires you to have a good understanding of battle flow and enemy mentality, but it is easily god-tier to know when you are on the minimap and when you are not. Combined with sensor shield is my favourite duo

    For me implants are situational. I prefer Assimilate and Regeneration over Survivalist, simply because it's good with adrenaline shield and allows to take on multiple enemies in a short time. E and D tier are situational implants, while higher tiers are just universal. Minor Cloak is great for ambushes when you know where to hide and when to strike, safe fall allows you to run down the cliff and catch someone with their pants down, nightmare and covert drop are great for suicide atacks, and the list goes on.

    Counter Intelligence is severely underrated. It gives you a lot of information as infantry classes so you can survive longer by avoiding dangerous walkways, and knowing exactly where your enemies are. On Light Assault you'll feel the benefits more than anything else. On Heavy Assault you can get an opportunity to turn around and start firing at your attacker much earlier, or rush behind cover to decided what you want to do next. The only class I wouldn't use it on is Infiltrator because it doesn't fit with the playstyle. I don't know how much you've used this implant but you should give it a chance. Information from Counter Intelligence is more valuable than a lot of other implants that give interesting stat boosts.

I'm not that good in a frontline role i'm more a support (Medic or Engineer) so its also nice sometimes for just leaping right off the top of a tower or down a cliff to get back to supporting my team as fast as i can while everyone is trying to find safe ways down.

    Here are some of my opinions based on your video.
    Gunslinger is indeed terrible. It's obviously made for the gunslinger loadout, where you wield two pistols. This implant does nothing for the 1v1 and very little for taking out multiple targets. I think it should double the ammunition in your pistol reserves and offer you either a speed boost or assimilate type benefit. Where it can help you disengage from targets and take advantage of pistols' high alpha damage. Help make it a guerilla style of play.
    Response Jacket is fantastic. Do you know what I'm getting hammered with all the time as NC? Banshee rounds and Lashers. Wearing the jacket reduces those projectiles to a tickle and it's gonna take twice the amount of rounds to take you down. Also, not all sources of explosive damage you take first are gonna be direct hits. Sometimes you'll get hit with weaker indirect damage, cause maybe he missed his shot. And then you're a juggernaut! I run this all the time on engie, with survivalist. Speedy and resilient....fantastic.
    I wish Fortify was good. I really don't wanna spend the ISO to max it out. If you're on a control point, I think short term damage resistance would be a lot better than a small boost to your shields and some regen. Or maybe it should act passively when you're on a control point. That'd make it leagues better....
    I've been using Cold Heart on my engie's "Max buddy" loadout and it's actually useful on a point hold. When you're healing maxes so constantly that you don't have time to manage your tool's heat, it punishes you less for overheating. It gives me more up time in that situation. Cause, y'know, NC maxes like to stand in doorways and take way too much damage.
    My dude I had an engineer obliterate me comin from around a corner and I was literally like "How's he movin so fast!" And he was running sidewinder and survivalist. That's the only time I've actually been killed by someone using sidewinder and it kinda left me dumbfounded. That particular loadout seems like a very enjoyable meme.
    Electrotech belongs in E. It breaks my heart. It's a fantastic implant but I got tired of teamkilling entire squads cause my shields went down and I triggered a set explosive. I couldn't take it anymore. I still remember that time in a biolab; sitting on the stairs at A point. My shields fell and I teamkilled at least 3 maxes, 2 engies, a few heavies, etc.
    I love mobility mesh. If you value mobility, I think it's great.
    I only see heavies run battle hardened and assimilate, on occasion the HA specific implants. For that reason, I'd definitely say it's meta....
    I think you're way off on Deep Operative. I wanted to love this implant. Just like gunslinger, just like electrotech, etc. There are so many so many problems with this implant. But, let's start with the good. When I'm running my sneaky loadout, I have just what you described equipped. When it works, it works really well. There's nothing quite like it. You're runnin' around with your suppressed cyclone, picking off targets and escaping back into the shadows. But, then you take damage. See, the hangups I have over this implant is that, firstly, it takes time to charge. There's no obvious indicator, by my reckoning, that your Deep Operative implant has taken effect. You're running around the battlefield and uh oh you took a stray bullet. Guess what's completely useless now! It also doesn't work for me in my run and gun playstyle. People still spot me like I'm not even using it. Now, I could maybe see this useful with a scout rifle or sniper. But, here's another problem. You're giving up an implant to use this. You need to pick survivalist, you need to pick battle hardened, etc. etc. Your guns also don't have unlimited ammunition. So, you're sneaking around and getting kills until you run out of ammo. So, I find it necessary to either run extra ammo in my suit or implant slot. But, then I can't run nanoweave, etc. I think the benefits that this implant gives you are just not enough to justify it over a "normal" infil loadout. I don't run basr so maybe I need to try it out with something other than smg's.
    I don't know why you'd run Infravision when I believe it's still possible to exploit free NV on everything.
    I don't own bionics but have always wanted to. I don't think it should be as high as you place it, though. Look at this thread www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/fxe3y8/bionics_the_implant_that_generally_makes_your/
    I think you could take Survivalist on any class and not feel bad about it. It's always been a bit too strong I think haha.
    When do we get Combat Surgeon for engie? Restore an ammo tick or repair something to gain resistances.

    • @CAMIKAZE78
      @CAMIKAZE78  4 роки тому +4

      Damn man, a big ole thought drop here!
      On the topic of Response Jacket, that is something we actually didn't consider in the stream where we put it in the list. Regardless, I think it may also come down to the fact that you need to take another really useful implant off of a loadout to put it on... It's a tough balance to make, the same deal with every implant in the list.
      Yeah look Fortify definitely needs a rework. The issue I have with Cold Heart is that you need to score a headshot kill for it to actually work, which means it frankly doesn't have a reliable enough impact to warrent taking it over something else in my opinion. Electrotech has it's ups and downs, I didn't know it took out allied explosives though.
      How does one exploit free NV on everything? I am curious more than anything now.
      Bionics I haven't used either, but the guys on the stream made it very clear that they wanted it in A tier with all things considered. Survivalist is without a doubt a meta pick though!
      Thanks for dropping all the thoughts here man :)

    Covert Drop at max rank is good for ESF pilots and Valkerie pilots/gunners as well because it gives you 6sec stealth once you land assuming that you will spend some time in the air if you press U right after jump of aircraft those 6seconds would be enough to wait whole time of redeployment relatively safe. This is good for new players which are learning how to fight in air and they would go through road of pain and fails jumping of smoking aircrafts over and over again hundreds of times... But i agree with tier placement because the niche of use is really tight and its only useable at max rank so yeah, E tier is correct for it...

    logistic specialist is really good if you're team know how to use it or if you're running with an outfit / friends. You take the invis and smaller radar Flash. Driver with this implant. Well it's nice as a squad mini sundy in which your mates respawn on you, hop off then rush point. It's good for places with lower pop areas and if you have a few flashes running this you can easily use them to muti ghost cap, respawning on the flash that needs help then U ing into another flash. Which is to say, really good on hossen. Other maps it can be good when attacking player bases with the defenders having little power to stop your spawning even if they get help.
    With randoms it's a live improvement but don't really turn into anything that good.

And on the outer edge of grenade damage, you're taking barely any damage at all. I've had times where I've seen a grenade, jumped away, but didn't get far enough away from the blast but also only took ~200ish damage to my shields. In this case, because *_some empires like to spam certain green hued explosion grenades..._* to a ridiculous degree, having further protection from any more blasts can save you more than you realize. Especially if you are behind cover. Response Jacket has saved my ass from HESH farmers shooting into buildings more than I can count.

    For door peaking and hit/run focused combat medic gameplay, it's a blast. You can get into a scrap, run to cover, and crouch walk strafe at regular movement speed and catch people completely off guard. It's not that great for point hold or field fights, but is good for those close quarters chaotic battles where you never know what's around the corner. Plus the ability to crouch strafe while reviving allies makes you much harder to hit, barely having to slow down or expose yourself while getting revives off.
    It's niche as hell though, outside of this playstyle it's not really useful.

It completely changes what you can do with the class, especially when paired with Catlike Since crouching has less visibility than walking/running, and Deep Operative reduces it further by 75% - that's in addition to being able to flank people much easier thanks to catlike jump height.

For tower stomping it's superlative - with a bit of luck and not killing the same people too often so they come back with dark lights you can get totally insane K/D runs. The Crown and Indar Excavation are particularly lucrative - a K/D of 30 or more is by no means impossible if the defenders are not paying attention to you (after insertion by an ejection seat ESF)

    How do you have two main weapons instead of having one main weapon and one sidearm? Does it have to do with membership privilege?

      It's one of the ASP Perks. ASP is a prestige system that you can unlock when you get to battle rank 100. Theres a tab for it somewhere in the in-game menu.
