After 1200+ hours in a magrider... I'd say that Vehicle Stealth is *king*. A lot what gets new players killed is that they get lit up suuuuppper easily on the map. That's pretty much asking for every harraser/ESF/MBT/Heavy-harraser in the area to get a free meal.
I wouldn't think it would matter much since any large vehicle should be manually spoted the moment it comes over the hill. Personal when ever I get to a new area manually spotting all enemy vehicles is a religion of mine.
@@endorsedbryce You're assuming that the enemy infantry is looking in the correct direction to see the magrider. It's been a while since I played but when I did one of the main tenants of magriding was flanking the enemy and using hit and run tactics so the enemy was always looking the other way when you popped out of cover to take shots at them.
@@rolasmola9641 It's a game with 50+ people per side someone is always looking the right way to spot a tank. (it's sort of hard to miss) All they have to do is hit one button and then it's one the min-map for everyone. shure you might be able to surprise noobs not paying attention to their surroundings. but the vehicle stealth feature ain't helping you with that.
@@endorsedbryce I'm not so sure about that. I think you're underestimating just how chaotic large scale fights can get. I'm not saying it's the be-all-end all, but simply being able to get a magrider into position on a flank undetected can be enough to overcome a stalemate at a choke point. Forcing an actual human being to have seen you and spotted you can make the difference between getting there unseen and announcing your presence to the entire enemy team.
In the really early days (during and just after the closed beta) the Vanu PPA on the Scythe was just obnoxiously OP, and anti air play was so weak. 100 rounds per mag (vs the 26 it has now) and thermal vision. Almost no one had certed into the expensive 1000 cert anti air options yet. I got good at low ground hugging flying and flipping around buildings quickly, and legit felt guilty for the kill streaks I'd rack up. 100 kills per Scythe was an easy average, and it didn't take long either. I used to travel around with my two brothers escorting their sunderer, and during low pop hours we would routinely go 3 vs 10 and easily cap territories due to being able to just lock the enemy out of ever reaching points. It was so bad, but so good for the certs. And to be honest, shameful fun too. Getting road kills on anti air maxes like super mario, and taunting the rare lock-on AA user to reveal themselves, just to tank the hit and shoot back. Very different these days. Get cocky for a second and you're ripped to shreds. I miss it so much, but would never ask for it back.
@@UnknownSquid actually air play is why I quit the game when it was still fresh, only recently with the "combined arms" update, I started enjoying it a lot, a LOT more, A2G still has it's place and is still stupidly effective as long as the pilot can maneouver, but at least getting groundfarmed is completly avoidable.
@@Skilow actually before cai tanks would be able to shell esfs and libs more frequently because of high velocity shells. If an esf get hit by that it was probably hovering, flying too low a d slow. Like what alot of esfs are doing right now... I got called out for hacks nowadays for shelling them midair😋 The reason that the airgame of the past seems op is because too few skyguards and lockons were wide spread. Without CAI the esfs wouldnt be able to spam a2g weopons so hard with current aa arms tech wide spread reinforced by tankers high velocity skillshots.
u can´t one shot infantry, u can´t one shot esf.. the bullet drop is a joke. I prefer to use the ap. hesh is also an option. but HEAT at the prowler is a joke.
Best thing in my opinion for a beginner is to use a lightning instead. It's not as strong as a main tank but it takes less resources that someone like a starter desperately needs. You can still get lots of kills both infantry and armor using the appropriate gun barrel in a fight. You also need to be a good engineer so that means get the things that you'll need to keep your vehicle alive. 😏
Positioning!!! Reading the map and picking the fights (when to go head on and when flanking might not work) would be extremely helpful for new comers. While of course everything takes time and has a learning curve, avoiding the 'red-flags' could dramatically improve the survivability in relatively short time.
As a Pro tanker for NC (Emerald server) I've overpowered MBTs even with a gunner. One tunneled visioned on our base, I crept up, landed an AP shell up his ass. He started gunning the engine, and I put a second shell in his rear before he got his turret aimed at me. I finished him off with a third shell. he took...half my health off. AP Lightning vs a Prowler w/ Gunner.
hey cami have a look at the damage profiles and reload times on the tank guns, you might find some surprises that contradict what you are saying about dps and ttk
Pretty sure he's referring to HEAT having a shorter reload time (for vanguard it's 2.5s vs 3.75 for AP), which results in HEAT actually having more DPS than AP, even though AP does more damage per hit (600 for HEAT vs 850 for AP), The only real advantage for AP vs HEAT is the alpha strike damage and projectile velocity. The values are different for Prowler and Magrider, but HEAT still provides more DPS.
Serkong sorta of like first hit damage. So for instance shotguns don’t have very good dps because of long rechambering times, but they can kill in one shot so they have very high alpha strike damage.
wanna be a better gunner? learn to read the battleroom: if you shoot and the enemy shoots back, don't sit there and soak tank shells; shoot and move use the lightnings low profile to your best advantage. find cover that blocks all but your turret, minimizing the enemy shots! engineer with the anti-tank archer rifle is excellent on oshur for harassing boats
8:32 Sorry to say it but the Prowlers base cannon is the defacto best option it has, Why? Reload speed, coulpe that insane reload speed with barrage and you have one *HELL* of fire storm brewing. I mean it was the first weapon I auraxiumed, (have 4 aurax medals for it now) followed by the mossy's Hellfire Rocket pods. Funny enough I can't fight other pilots to save my ass, only people I can beat are new to flying in PS2. Anti infantry support? I've actually been complimented on many occasions for my diligent mopping up of squishy vulcan/rocket fodder
Your preference for AP is outdated. HESH and HEAT are now of the same damage type as AP and offer very similar vehicle ttks. The classification is now as follows: AP to have the best chance to land a shot, HEAT to have the most chances to land a shot, and HESH for best splash.
I sunk a lot of certs and DBC into air vehicles but gave up dogfight for tank battles. As much fun as running a harasser pack is, nothing feels as good as sitting in your prowler and shelling tanks from half away across auraxis
Heat actually has a higher DPS, but because people panic and retreat the second they take damage, it can only become more powerful if two tanks refuse to disengage with eachother. Also, the Vanguard HESH is arguably in a class of its own bc it is the only one that can OHK with splash. HESH can also hit infantry that you can't see and due to conservative way people use MBTs, the reload rate reduction for HESH isn't quite as big of a deal.
Great video! As you talked about the different points, all of them happened in the footage. 😄 Engie directly behind the tank, the tank behind who refuses to move...classic! 😋
wow. A vehicle guide where someone actually talks about the 3rd person camera, even in games like battlefield, the 3rd person camera for tanks is outstanding, even if you use it just for the ability to look over a hill or around a corner without exposing yourself. The ability to see your tank is also helpful in a fight where you can’t look around, the amount of times I’ve known I needed to get out of the tank because I saw a brick of C4 land on me while I was fighting is insane. Sometimes you can even kill the guy who placed the brick, nobody seems to expect an engineer to just appear next to them
Can confirm. The AP is the best. I have beefed up my.mag with the AP and Saron. Ive gotten *very* good at precision-shooting infantry and somewhat proficient at sniping ESFs. (Yes an AP will 1 shot an ESF at full health). You dont need the splash damage. Your ability to fend off other tanks and vehicles outweighs that trade-off _far_ too much.
I play with HESH in my vanguard but the splash radius was reduced from 5 meters to 2. I agree 5 meters was too much but should have been left to 3 at least, same on the lightning.
@@edwinortiz4421 irl HESH is just less effective against tanks than AP. The idea of HESH or high explosive squash head was that the concussive effect caused on impact by a plastic cap on a HE shell will cause spalling in vehicles, killing the crew. The problem is that the spalling issue can be fixed with anti-spall liners and such. Tanks today mostly use APFSDS rounds against enemy tanks. APFSDS has excellent penetration and is less susceptible to countermeasures compared to HEAT shells. HESH rounds today are mostly used against buildings and lighter ground vehicles but HESH aint as widespread as HE for example, which does those jobs just as well. I dont know where you got your ideas from.
oh no Im well aware how HESH works. Been playing war thunder for over 5 years now and for such there are legit mechanics and stuff that explains how each round works. Just for me HESH is less effective than what it should be, understand that frontally it’s hard to be effective. But sides and back should do a lot of dmg
@@edwinortiz4421 Understandable. I do enjoy WT myself but i dont like to rely on it for accurate information on ammunition types. Its best to double check with other sources. Anyways, it would be nice if ps2 would get ballistics similar to WT. Implementing realistic muzzle velocities (just faster shells with less drop), armour mechanics (angles/slopes/thickness/types of armour) and damage models (depending on the type of ammunition used/where on a given vehicle hits are scored/ which type of armour is mounted on a given vehicle) would be very nice.
Heroes and generals War thunder World of tanks All have realistic simulation and combat in mind Planetside meanwhile are there to put a threat to infantry, break stalemates and just for funzies. The only thing I would change is the quantity of tanks. There’s usually way to many, i’ve had fights where there’s more tanks sitting outside of a room waiting for a poor foot soldier to peek put and get oblitirated than actual foot soldiers contesting that building
I switched from the default Viper to the HEAT on my Lightning under the impression it'd be balanced between infantry and armour but its absolutely not. The HEAT seems like it doesn't have any high explosive at all. The amount of time I've shot at infantry and they've been enveloped in the flames but not even got a hit marker is ridiculous. The only time I seem to damage infantry at all is with a direct hit. Should of gone with the AP canon, the heat canon is next to useless on infantry and does less damage to armour than AP.
Does anyone know why (and when) the Forward Vanguard Shield visual design (shown at 2:54) was changed to its current, hexagon-pattern visual design? I think the older one looked better. (And I'm aware that the old Vanguard Shield itself had its own visual design, but that's not the one I'm looking for)
My issue has an engineer reping a dudes tank is I'm on the side and for some ungodly reason they decide to rotate OVER me then back up so I've just been saying fuck it lately and jumping right onto their damn tank lol
A buddy of mine and myself used to be an awesome two man tank crew. Then came CAI and we haven't played much since. Have tanks been altered, or should I say, corrected since then?
I still don't understand the AP obsession. The standard ammunition has significantly shorter reload right out of the gate, which SHOULD translate to DPS, does it not?
They are two different weapons for two very different situations. HEAT is for sustainable firing at close to mid range where cover is close by and easily accessible. AP is for mid to long range where sustainable fire is not likely safe and cover is limited.
10:00 Vanguard vs Prowler (both w/ gunner)=1 very dead prowler (the vanguard can kill it in 7 seconds, so it spends the entire fight under it's shield and is practically invulnerable.) enforcer lel
Unless the Prowler is smart and keeps it’s distance! I agree that no MBT can challenge the Vanguard close range, but with some distance and clever positioning, Prowler becomes king.
@@agenttarian3672 Yea, especially if it has cover and the Vanguard is exposed. Smart Vanguard drivers don't usually just expose themselves, but remember...2/3 of them are dumb.... Also the prowler is better in a longer fight, as it is less utility-bound.
I forgot when the PlanetSide 2 channels we're about making useful information available so newer players could get into it instead of just making demands from the developers.
Prowlers win face to face engagements most of the time (yay TR) because they can just fucking supercharge, deploy and shit on the enemy with a barrage of hellfire from a double barrel cannon.
In your example, the magrider would have to be using AP rounds (which could perhaps let you two shot another tank, depending on other sources of damage). But it’s impossible to not destroy another tank if you hit it 8 times, unless maybe if you were using AI rounds or something. Maybe. Or perhaps the magrider had an engie behind it, repairing.
@CAMIKAZE78 Is hull covering a retreating ally a thing or usefull in PS2? By that I mean when you see someone taking a beating and falling back you use your tank to shield them from fire. I play a fair bit of WoT and this is an essential team skill for heavy tank drivers in that game and was wondering if things like that transferred over.
The way you move the tank is torture for the secondary weapon user. If you're not facing an overwhelming amount of damage to be required to dodge shots, just let the enemy hit you while allowing the secondary weapon to hit more times by moving in a predictable manner. Otherwise lock the vehicle and only use it yourself.
Man, I really wanna play more NC. But every time I hop in a Vanguard it's just, I dunno. Haven't found a single top-gun/secondary that I actually like using.
A solo Vanguard can take down a 2-man prowler. Hard, but i've done it several times. Killing lightnings while solo becomes second nature after a while. It is a very routine thing. Just remember: Shield before he shoots you, but not if he's gonna get into cover right away, reverse-and-turn to face him, and put your shells on target.
Flying, i'm getting better at it and once i'll master it any gunner will be thankfull to me. I'm generally flying without a gunner, with a valkyrie, going against ennemy planes and infantry to train my maneuvers and see how much i can dodge, how close can i get to the ground and not crashing at high speed, how fast can i turn, how well can i naviguate a terrain that i can't see. I also like doing harasser shenanigans. I'm a bad gunner, but a medium/good driver.
lol i love these vids where you see people fighting vanu with like 3 lightnings and 1 heavy with a rocket launcher no harassers or magriders zipping around. i've never encountered this scenario :P
This could deserve a complementary video about tank loadouts. You talked about the gun a lot (AP), but what about the modules? Emergency fire extenguisher? Front shield? Nimitz reactor? Racer? And what about the secondary armament? Should I go Kobalt? Haleberd? Canister? This would help a lot avoiding spending certs into not much desirable stuff. :]
About not causing a traffic jam, there would be a real world example in Ukraine. Russia had a 40 mile long convoy that was essentially wiped out since they kept on causing their own traffic jams when javalin missiles destroyed the first and last tank in the column.
I would honestly advice attempting to give up on first person view (unless you are somewhere safe and just sniping targets). It won't take you long to place an imaginary cross-hair at the right spot in third person view. Using the reload marker as reference until you get good at it also helps. Playing mostly in 3rd person really helps with aiming while moving once you get the hang of it.
Oh, one more thing: in 3rd person view you no longer have cannon sway and recoil! So even when sniping, it's best to set your aim in 1st person view and then switching to 3rd person to get rid of recoil and chain shots.
Can you do a video with tips specifically for the magrider? I frequently find myself being beaten in 1v1s with vangaurds and sometimes prowlers. The mag just seems weaker or perhaps im not using it to its full potential.
Dont waste your certs on a Magrider It's the worst MBT by far...The only thing that it can do that the other tanks cant is go up mountains even then a harasser is still better in most situations with a very similar playstyle sadly. If you do want to be a good magrider though just get max stealth Rival combat chassis and max magburner with the FPC cannon and sneak up behind your target. Pretty much the only thing you can do seeing how bad its mobility and defenses are compared to the others
one problem. I aux my AP and now working on another turret :3 so far going hesh Also question now of course they will defend it but, Vulcan harasser op?
Nah, the AP gun will be ~85% of your damage regardless of the top gun. Having a faction specific top gun helps attract gunners, but if you’re in an outfit or even just a platoon, you can usually just ask if anybody wants to gun with you
1:00 this sounds so obvious but it irks be that devs think it's okay to give new players gimped versions of every vehicle. Then they wonder why the new player experience is so lackluster...
You can earn a white camo from the objective directive line, and a faction specific camo from the basic training directive line. The cooler skins are all behind a paywall, but it is a free game and the devs need to eat
@@agenttarian3672 i get that they need to eat but all skins helms and outfits are paywalled. If you look at r6 siege and warzone the skins and helms and outfits are all free with the choice to buy. It just feels bad compared to other fps fsp games
michael perlman I’m not disagreeing that the cosmetics are a bit overmonitized! (I wish I could earn some of the outfits!) But it is a small game, and nothing that impacts gameplay is locked behind a paywall, so at least we got that. And in case you didn’t know, you can buy outfits and a camo in the new sanctuary location, and completing directives gives you some of the coolest armor and vehicle cosmetics in the game
So for all of my Vanu brothers and sisters out their, I want you to remember that you should not treat the Magrider as a tank. It has the lowest stats out of all of the MBTs but it has a boost. That alone makes it the cheekiest tank in the game. Learn to use that boost to doge shots, and circle strafe other MBTs, but Most importantly don't fight a fight that your not going to win. Know when to retreat and reposition. If you see a Vanguard pop its shield, then dont attack, wait and hit him from a different angle. If they decide to charge you, get ready to boost out and hit them in the rear. Your armor in this tank is your mobility, and if you learn how to use it right you can win any one on one engagement.
I have to disagree with you on one thing. AP rounds are great but for new players Hesh will be more forgiving because of the splash and as their aim improves they will have the option to migrate to the AP rounds. I know it is buying two guns instead of just one but Hesh fits certain jobs anyway and you can get a lot done with Hesh and you need to get a good top gun and aside from the enforcer for the NC I would suggest the Halberd. The combo of AP and Halberd later on will be very effective and your gunner will hopefully be more experienced when you are learning and thus good with a Halberd and you will be effective much faster with your tank.
@@NK-qn6pq you need to use HESH to auraxium the Vanguard so, don't be so dumb about it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that someone else won't have a use for it.
@@darrenskjoelsvold The Vanguard is for killing TANKS. It can kill infantry (but I use HEAT, because I can fight off tanks that attack me). Killing tanks is more fun anyways (how is sitting on a hill shelling a base with HESH fun?).
@@NK-qn6pq Vanguards are also for killing Sunderers and Hesh can be handy for attacking buses, especially when they are crawling with Engineers. I would actually strongly suggest Sunderee hunting for the beginner Vanguard driver and crew. You play a pivotal role in defending bases and territory and with a Halberd and Hesh, you can still engage enemy armor. You're also going to be very good at dealing with Sunderer balls and even Colossus tanks and their support. But for real, the combination of a Hesh and a Halberd is actually good all around build. You can then go up to AP and be a dedicated tank killer but you by then will have also improved your aim. Heat is fine, and it does alright in most situations but it's also not really a question of "will you have heat?" because you start out with Heat. When looking for a new gun, I recommend Hesh first, then AP.
10:10 sorry what you said there is bullshitThe highest DPS you can out put comes with the standard weapon when you pick up the tank... it reloads way quicker than the AP or the Hersh. The only way that you can surpass the DPS of the standard gun with the AP or Hersh is if the driver with the standard don't have any re-load upgrade on the gun and you running AP has 2 or more and with hersh 3 or more. (i'm talking about vanguards here, any other tank on this game are trash and shouldn't be considered a MBT.) So, fo some one that know "so much" about this that's making a video about it, you're talking a lot of bullshits per phrase. Fall back in a strait line... ( wait; what? is that serious?) if you are falling back is because you already took a hit, if you took a hit you already have some damage and your enemy have already figure out where his aim needs to be to hit you every time. By falling back on a strait line you're making his life very easy by asking him to adjust only the vertical aspect of his aim if he wants to kill you, So yeah by all means do that; Preferably on a MAG or PROWLER with me siting on a vanguard on the other side. The first aggressive maneuver a tank commander should learn in this game when in a armor colon is "Shoot the retreating vehicle" as they most of the time are one or 2 hits away from death. So when i saw some one starting to back up i drop any target that i have and it's not on fire; and open fire on that vehicle.
Hence why it doesn't feel like a tank. It's ambush dependent. Which is fine in an open map, but if you're in Hossin or in the canyon in Indar near Quartz Ridge or some of the roads in Esamir, it doesn't give you much option for holding ground. I would give up some speed and the ability to climb walls in trade for some extra frontal armor and more HP. I rather wish NS had a common core MBT you could use for that option so Vanu can stand toe to toe with the other two factions in those situations. Compared to the other two factions the Mag Rider does not stand up favorably in conditions where it must be a tank. And for ambush you could arguably be better served with a harasser, or a 2 man cloak flash with AT mines. Since both are cheaper to purchase, faster, and the latter would have situationally higher alpha damage.
It would be nice if I don't get cussed out whenever someone gets in my gunner seat of my maggy because I don't driver very well and die, I just gave up on gunners. I can solo ok, but I'm just sick of the stupid attack comments
@@NK-qn6pq can confirm. Played only VS for years and thought I loved the maggy. Spent 30 minutes in a Vanguard on my new NC and realized I had no idea what a tank actually was.
man i was once in a vs heavy tank thingy alone and rushed the TR ofcourse i ignored some enemeys but i killed so many tanks and felt like rommel 2.0 xD
Newbies can actually get into tanking instead of being instagibbed. I generally prefer the way it is now, especially with all the tweaks they did post-cai to fix the major issues. If I had to change anything from the way it currently is, it would probably be some more damage for flanking, maybe an extra 10 - 15% on top of the current ones. But it's not like vehicle play was totally ruined. The reason most vets complain is that their play style of instagibbing newbs from behind got nerfed. But that's a good thing for the health of the game.
@@Chiaros The flanking stuff idea is fine but CAI made a lot more things worse then just MBTs. For example the generel Liberator, Harraser, air-game, vehicles vs. Infantry etc. And the people just don't like the long ttk because it's a bit boring as it is since CAI.
@@jonasbaumgartel5994 Yeah, but the TTK isn't that long, honestly. Tanks aren't supposed to melt in two seconds. If you land your hits then the target dies fast enough, but they now have a window to respond to it or flee. And yeah, fleeing isn't fun but it's better than certain death every time someone shows up behind you. Back when the game was more populated, flanking was harder to pull off cause there were enemies everywhere. So it was also more rewarding. Now it's much easier to end up behind someone, so it shouldn't be such an uncounterable move anymore. As for the rest, I think harassers could use a bit more armour and the ESFs could use a more fun and engaging way to fight heavily armoured aircraft, but I'm sure that will get solved sooner or later. Or maybe us mozzies shoud just accept we aren't meant to solo a liberator :D
Tanks are redundant in the current meta. Too much AT content, exacerbated by the LA's new(ish) rocket launcher. If i pull a tank it's almost always invariably a skygaurd or very occasionally an AP to cheese a sunderer spawn from distance. Certainly never an MBT.
A tip, don't waste the shield so much, use the shield aggressively, and repair more often, and use the mjolnir, in your video there wasn't a single engage that would have been better with the enforcer.
i think lightnings are way under powered, the health should be at least improved as it is a TANK. Flashes can kill lightning in under 2 seconds from behind, harassers the same if not even faster (together with their high speed and relatively high health are very hard to defeat when in lightning) liberators can completely melt through multiple lightnings in no time. Even infantry now can easily defeat lightnings, without the 1 hit kill on area damage and with the low rate of fire lightnings are powerless against multiple infantry which can have c4, rocklets, anti infantry grenades, powerful ass rocket launchers, the archer and even grenade launchers, at least the vehicles cannot be damaged by small arms fire like in the early life of this game...
idk for me it seems that lightnings get targeted more because they can be killed so easily and do not have gunner unlike the heavy tanks that are a scary ass mobile killing machine
I don't have any problems in my lightning , I use AP on mine and just snipe infantry threats before they become a problem. With max vehicle stealth and racer chassis I sneak up behind MBTs and get 1-2 ap shots into their back at the start of a fight and usually win. I always try to stick around an area where I have cover from a Lib too.
I guess playing like that is a bit better, I myself have not used AP rounds much on lightning but seem a lot better than the others (the velocity helps a ton) though i dont think it should require to be played so stealthily, it is not a flash after all, it is a tank
Actually, Lightnings are very powerful for being a single-player vehicle. A skilled Lightning player can defeat an MBT without excessive difficulty. As for Liberators, they're a bomber. Use your speed and dodge the Tankbuster and run Skyguard if you want to deter air. Lightnings are more powerful than Harassers if you are paying attention, and you can outrun anything else.
I do not want the "lightning vs mbt" balance to be changed, a mbt even without a turret should be able to defeat a lightning in most cases, however the speed at which the lightning can be destroyed in real battles or even by single vehicles or couple infantry is a bit ridiculous in my opinion
Personally, I have a fun time parking behind a hill in a lightning and lobbing shells over it in third person at distant targets. Often times the low profile of the lightning means that they have a very hard time hitting you back. I suppose I should mention that, in my own experiences, most tank drivers don't seem to consider their vehicles as something built for killing other tanks. At least, if all the people camping on hills while they're being killed by flanking armour is any indication.
150AP needs it's velocity increased to atleast 2000meters/s . The fact that an Harasser can dodge a tankround at close range is bullshit. Did they ever fix the Skyguard vs Lib issue where a Lib can instakill a Skyguard while the Skyguard needs to shoot 2.5 full reloads to kill a lib ?. /Edit. A prowler Vs a Paperguard with both tanks equally geared and manned, the prowler will ALWAYS win because of 2800dps Anchor, even with the paperguards shield used, the prowler will shred the paper guard before your second reload. This is something i demanded to be changed... Anchor is a non-duration non-CD skill, while the paperguards shield is = once you pop, you can't stop. Basically... once you activate the shield, you can't deactivate it, while the Anchor can be deactivated at any time..
cami, u talked a lot about AP and how its waaay stronger than HE for an MBT (and rightfully so), but you said literally nothing about Hesh, whats your thoughts on it?
When I was referring to AP being stronger than other tank guns, I put HESH into that category as well (maybe I didn't make that as clear as I wanted). In my eyes, HESH is a great all-rounder for learning a tank, but not for actually doing well.
cool ty for clearing that up mate, i had wondered if you'd not noticed the hesh turret, but i guess you had! cheers! i have a friend who swears by hesh, ill have to break it to him gently! :D
Probably my faction bias, but anyone else feel like the magrider sucks ass? Like Cami said, its guns do the least damage, it has the least health, and its the slowest tank. What he didn’t mention is the acceleration on the left and right movement of the gun which makes it that much harder to actually hit stuff. All it has going for it is the fact it can get places tanks probably shouldn’t be, which really just makes it better at shelling infantry in bases with HESH, which is just boring and sucks for infantry. With a tank v tank fight the Magrider just feels like Harasser 2: the enslowening. The tank specific ability isn’t great either. It gives you another magburner charge and removes in progress lockons. All it’s good for is running away. The TR has an ability that increases tank DPS and the NC has a big fuck-off invincibility button. My main point is that a prowlwr and a vanguard might be able to have a close fight, the magrider will get shredded 7 times out of 10, unless it can immediately get behind the enemy tank and get a backshot first thing.

Rocket pods back in the days with thermal vision were so op it made players feel shame for getting killstreaks.
Look, I shall neither confirm nor deny this based on my past...

The reason that the airgame of the past seems op is because too few skyguards and lockons were wide spread.
Without CAI the esfs wouldnt be able to spam a2g weopons so hard with current aa arms tech wide spread reinforced by tankers high velocity skillshots.
Is it worse than back in the old days?

i think an argument could be made for HEAT with the prowler, since combined with the barrage ability it can really shell out the damage.
Was that a tank pun? I think I have shell shock now!
Exactly. HEAT has the highest DPS of anything, and as for the Vanguard, its HESH can OHK infantry with small, and that's a big deal.
u can´t one shot infantry, u can´t one shot esf.. the bullet drop is a joke. I prefer to use the ap. hesh is also an option. but HEAT at the prowler is a joke.

Accidentally dropped tank mine works too, i guess
I finished him off with a third shell. he took...half my health off.

hey cami have a look at the damage profiles and reload times on the tank guns, you might find some surprises that contradict what you are saying about dps and ttk
How so mate? Mind elaborating a little bit? :)
@@Propheteer_128 yep that's what I was talking about
@@Propheteer_128 alpha strike?
Serkong sorta of like first hit damage. So for instance shotguns don’t have very good dps because of long rechambering times, but they can kill in one shot so they have very high alpha strike damage.

No, it can't OHK with splash anymore. It got nerfed because the infantry cried. Use HEAT or AP
I agree 5 meters was too much but should have been left to 3 at least, same on the lightning.
hesh got nerfed, remember
can't 1-splash infantry anymore
Tank in Planetside is so weird. I have played WoT and WT for 5 years and when I drive a tank in Planetside, I like "OMG this is not a tank game" XD
I feel you, specially with this BS that HESH does less dmg than AP to a vehicle. They got everything kinda messed up and backwards
Heroes and generals

All have realistic simulation and combat in mind
Planetside meanwhile are there to put a threat to infantry, break stalemates and just for funzies.
The only thing I would change is the quantity of tanks. There’s usually way to many, i’ve had fights where there’s more tanks sitting outside of a room waiting for a poor foot soldier to peek put and get oblitirated than actual foot soldiers contesting that building
A good example would be Laotiao when he wanted to back up but couldnt because of the amount of sundy blocking his path.
9:15 Love how that Lightning just noped the fuk outta there.

@@fromaggio7654 so does the HEAT on Vanguard.

Suggestion for new players: bind something like CTRL or M3 (I use both) to switch from 1st to 3rd person.
Thank you a lot for still making armor videos!
Prowlers win face to face engagements most of the time (yay TR) because they can just fucking supercharge, deploy and shit on the enemy with a barrage of hellfire from a double barrel cannon.
People saying the prowler is op clearly havnt fought a magrider in one where you shoot it 8 times and the magrider two shots you so that happens

You can try, but it's risky. Whatever beat the shit out of your buddy could probably do the same to you.
The way you move the tank is torture for the secondary weapon user. If you're not facing an overwhelming amount of damage to be required to dodge shots, just let the enemy hit you while allowing the secondary weapon to hit more times by moving in a predictable manner. Otherwise lock the vehicle and only use it yourself.
when they're hitting you, just use your shield and tank the damage.
i personally like lightnings more then vanguards, cheaper and just as effective. though the can't take a hit so they are more hit and run tanks.
@Bart Dr I like Vanguard more, because when push comes to shove, being fast ain't gonna save you.
Thoughts on the new artillery cannons?
Depends on the tank I'd say. Satyr isn't an AP cannon, but it kills far quicker than the AP cannon
Man, I really wanna play more NC. But every time I hop in a Vanguard it's just, I dunno. Haven't found a single top-gun/secondary that I actually like using.
Overpowering a mbt with a lightning is very embassing ive done it to others and ive had it done to me.

I love your videos with them I learned about the vang
You is blue? You are the enemy!! TR 4 EVER.. im just playin man Good video
Георги Ставрев who cares about recoil, it's not an automatic canon ^^
Can you do a video with tips specifically for the magrider? I frequently find myself being beaten in 1v1s with vangaurds and sometimes prowlers. The mag just seems weaker or perhaps im not using it to its full potential.
Dont waste your certs on a Magrider It's the worst MBT by far...The only thing that it can do that the other tanks cant is go up mountains even then a harasser is still better in most situations with a very similar playstyle sadly. If you do want to be a good magrider though just get max stealth Rival combat chassis and max magburner with the FPC cannon and sneak up behind your target. How does one get skins without paying for them? The skins is more of paint jobs.
You can earn a white camo from the objective directive line, and a faction specific camo from the basic training directive line. The cooler skins are all behind a paywall, but it is a free game and the devs need to eat

DO. NOT. USE. HESH.
Especially on Vanguard.
Good to see your PS2 videos again Cami, too bad you're not on Emerald. Your old PXP friends would love to shoot you some.
(i'm talking about vanguards here, any other tank on this game are trash and shouldn't be considered a MBT.)
So, fo some one that know "so much" about this that's making a video about it, you're talking a lot of bullshits per phrase.
Will we see Camikaze videos being uploaded to Rumble or Oddyssee in the near future?? HOPE SO. I'm on youtube less & less.
Magrider is fun to drive, but it never feels powerful as a tank compared to the Vanguard and Prowler.
Maggie has lowest dps and doesn't have a noob proof ability like the vanguard does it is the most skill dependent of all mbts

Hey CAMIKAZE! Are you now officially back in Planetside 2?
Always been around mate! Just been getting into it more and more lately :)
Tanks are redundant in the current meta. Too much AT content, exacerbated by the LA's new(ish) rocket launcher. If i pull a tank it's almost always invariably a skygaurd or very occasionally an AP to cheese a sunderer spawn from distance. Certainly never an MBT.
A tip, don't waste the shield so much, use the shield aggressively, and repair more often, and use the mjolnir, in your video there wasn't a single engage that would have been better with the enforcer.
enforcer has more range.
i think lightnings are way under powered, the health should be at least improved as it is a TANK.
Your good but you need to learn how to fire in 3rd person, it will aid you when assault and firing on the move.
The tank shells just fall off so hard. Like shooting a damn soccer ball at em.
At least, if all the people camping on hills while they're being killed by flanking armour is any indication.
those are armored with anti infantry weaponry probbly
150AP needs it's velocity increased to atleast 2000meters/s . The fact that an Harasser can dodge a tankround at close range is bullshit.
Did they ever fix the Skyguard vs Lib issue where a Lib can instakill a Skyguard while the Skyguard needs to shoot 2.5 full reloads to kill a lib ?.
/Edit. A prowler Vs a Paperguard with both tanks equally geared and manned, the prowler will ALWAYS win because of 2800dps Anchor,
even with the paperguards shield used, the prowler will shred the paper guard before your second reload.
HESH is just HE renamed
When I was referring to AP being stronger than other tank guns, I put HESH into that category as well (maybe I didn't make that as clear as I wanted). In my eyes, HESH is a great all-rounder for learning a tank, but not for actually doing well.
cool ty for clearing that up mate, i had wondered if you'd not noticed the hesh turret, but i guess you had! cheers! i have a friend who swears by hesh, ill have to break it to him gently! :D
stay on briggs
I feel as though HEAT is basically worthless. On both tanks.
this game is just like heroes and generals but future
