This song was written about the only woman he ever loved😢💔 not for Brian. He left almost everything to her and her child. They lived together for a while and were engaged until she broke it off, telling him she wanted him to be happy even if it wasn't with her. She knew he was Gay long before he would admit it. That is how much she loved him. And he, her.😢😢😢
Soft beautiful song. An absolute crowd favorite around the world. Even in non-English speaking countries they sing along with this song. Thank you for your reaction.
I’m 65, and I remember when I first heard Queen. I ran out and bought that album and so many of their other albums, playing them over and over and over, and realizing how blessed I was to be living through one of the greatest ages of music ever. I enjoyed and was awed by the music as it happened, and realized the world would be listening to it for 50 years into the future and beyond. When I play the music I grew up with, it just never, EVER gets tiresome!
Those visuals - one man singing against the backdrop of the audience lit in a spotlight, another on a 12 string guitar heard at the back of an arena...magnificent. Glad this may offer calm for any storm you may be fighting.
The most insane thing to me is that Freddie had no formal vocal training. Please check out The Show Must Go On. Freddie was so ill Brian didn’t think he’d be able to sing it yet Freddie knocked back a vodka and nailed it. It has some of the hardest vocals of all their tracks. Also, Barcelona where he duets with Monserrat Cabellé , a famous opera singer. I can’t think of anyone but Freddie who could hold their own on stage with an opera singer like he did. Brian May and Roger Taylor are also really good singers- says a lot when the guitarist and drummer can also sing really well, not many bands like that about!
That’s one of the things that always impressed me bout Queen. All those guys could sing their asses off. Hats off to Roger who could sing and beat those drums. Stamina for real

Great reaction, thank you! This song makes me teary every time but it is so beautiful & sung with such passion by Freddie & superb guitar played by the incomparable Dr May! ❤️❤️
There is nothing more beautiful than this song and Freddie Mercury. The crowd is testament to how this song is recieved and beloved. It gives me goosebumps. Miss you Freddie. Xxxxxx
I just absolutely love this live performance. The 7/12/1986 Wembley concert was fantastic. You should react to the entire concert from the beginning. The way they structured the concert was impressive. They spent a lot of time in strategically playing certain songs at a certain time. The concert just had such a perfect flow. A couple of people did the entire concert in 8 it 9 parts in order without any problems of getting blocked. Queen sold out so fast they had 2 nights in a row at Wembley. The Saturday, 7/12 was the one that had 15 cameras for the DVD. It’s the best of the 2, IMO. The stage was huge. If you thought Freddie ran around at Live Aid, wait until you see this!!! It’s also the first time Freddie had the new “wireless” microphone! The opening of the concert was amazing. Hope you are able to do this. Back to this song. It’s just beautiful and slow songs really showcase Freddie’s incredible voice. He only needed Brian on guitar and 80,000 fans. No one has ever controlled an audience like Freddie. Including the fans in the show was a priority with Queen way back in the 70’s. No other group ever cared to do that. They were first in so many areas. I will never tire hearing that God given voice with a vibrato like no other!
Thank you very much for your great reactions...please react to "you take my breath away" live at Hyde Park from the 70s...in my opinion this is Freddie's best vocal performance... Just him, his piano and his incredible voice...
Freddie was TRULY a very special experience. We, his fans love him and miss him every day so much, Hearing the crowds sing his songs to him at concerts was truly an other worldly experience.
With all the smiling he does you’d never know the painful things going on in his personal life right now, thank you so much for the reaction and I hope everything gets better for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just love your reaction to Queen...Your smile alone just makes me happy when your watching Queen, and Freddy sing...Queen is one of my favorite bands, and to me he had the BEST VOICE EVER!!!
Freddie born in Zanzibar and imigrated to the UK. Studied & got an art degree and had the best rock voice ever. Combine him w/ Dr. Brian May -astrophysicist and incredible guitarist, John-electrician and amazing bassist, Roger-dentist and drummer w/awesome falsetto voice = Queen greatest rock band ever. So happy youngsters are discovering their magic!
@@c8Lorraine1 he designed the amp that Brian May used, from what I understand. I think what makes Queen unique is that all the members have a spirit of generosity for their audience. They wanted to give the audience the best possible experience, to make them feel like superstars and part of the show. It comes across to all their performances, they are talented of course but they wanted to give to the audience. I don’t know of another band that communicates that as well as Queen does and their music touches my heart and takes me to a beautiful place that no other music ever does.
Loved your reaction, thanks! You're going to want to remember this song, the words, and the interaction between Freddie and the audience. It will be important to remember when you eventually watch his last video ever. If you really want to blow your mind, watch this song performed live to a spanish speaking crowd of 250k in Rio in 1985. It's incredible. Hoping things work out the way you want. Stay strong. We got you.
They love him is an incredibly large understatement. The the entire band, but Freddie could make the guy in the back row feel like he was the only one in the audience, he made sure that the audience were a part of the show and a part of the band for that night.
Have you ever heard ‘Barcelona’ Freddie with the Italian opera singer Montserrat Caballe - if not give it a try or maybe some of Freddie’s Japanese stuff, he had a real love for that. I’m so happy and rather jealous that you have come into the fold of people who love Freddie, jealous because I remember having that ‘first time’ feeling from so long ago, it makes me feel young again. I used to live near Freddie and we attended the same college (some years later) I love that I may have sat in chairs , walked the same corridors that he did and even be taught by some of his lecturers, but most of all I love that I have heard his music for over 45 years and loved it all. My husband, who is much younger than I, is a huge Queen, particularly Freddie fan in the truest sense of the word and we certainly bonded over his love of this fantastic group of men who got together to make magic. By the way in the reaction video to you hearing Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time, you asked who was the falsetto I’m the harmonies - that was the drummer Roger Taylor - when they were recording the harmonies Freddie kept going to the box and saying to Roger ‘one more time, only higher’ which he did until frankly he may have needed surgery on some part of his anatomy to be able to sing any higher if you get my drift? Hahaha. I hope you continue on your trail of discovery with Queen they have a lifetime of work for you to discover and in my heart I can truly say there is very little you won’t enjoy and most of all have fun with it like Freddie did. Happy trails my friend.
I love the fact that you SO appreciate Freddie's voice. This song is tinged with sadness, it was written about Mary, the love of his life, even though he was gay, and talks about growing old together, which obviously never happened......so sad....
This is why I love watching reaction videos, watching your face light up while watching Freddie hold a crowd of 100k people in the palm of his hands is pure magic!

You have to hear the studio version of 'You Take my Breath Away', the voice of Freddie does literally that. Queen is the only band in the world where every member has written hit songs and the first ever rock band to be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2003

That performance was at Wembley Stadium in London. It was another stellar performance by Queen, and of course Freddy! I was at that concert and can remember it like it was yesterday! It was Queen’s final live concert at Wembley! Awesome reactions from you on this one, and all the other Queen that you have done 👏🏻
I love your reactions! Your so right they don't make songs like this anymore. It truly makes you feel happy and cry at the same time because it's so beautiful. ❤
The love Freddie shared with the fans was, and is, unbroken. I don't know of anyone who could evoke that invisible family cord that bound him and each of us together. Hundreds of us were crying as we sang. It was the best gig I ever attended.
Been with you since your Queen journey began, mainly because of the reaction you have, and your appreciation of Freddie and the boys. If you need further proof of Freddies power, even 26 years after his passing, watch the Green Day crowd at Hyde Park in 2017, they sing along to BoRhap, word perfect, it is one of the most moving things I have witnessed.
Lovely reaction as always! This song always is a little bitter sweet to me too. Especially when he sings, when I grow older I will be there by your side. As you can tell he wrote this for someone he loved after the relationship ended. But this later became his love song to the audience with them singing part of the song back to him.
The saddest thing to me was understanding the atmosphere of fear and unescapable death that lived in the game community at that time. Freddy kept his Aids diagnoses from his fans until his death neared. I always wonder when Aids began to impact the lyrics of his songs. It adds another of depth to the words.
You really have to check out the Rock in Rio 1985 Version of this song... there you'll see how much the crowd loves him ^^ Btw. I love your reactions. Thank you for it from the bottom of my heart. ^^
Thank you for this great reaction its wonderful to see you back, please can you react to Save Me live at Rock Montreal 1981, I think we all need a bit of saving from time to time.
Fun reaction. You smiled all the way through. Freddie & Brian were quite the duo. This is actually a stripped down arrangement from the piano based studio cut. Always great to see them like this.
Hi Patty, you need to do a little research..Freddie stated that the song was a love song for the audience..at the end he says, “I still love you” while pointing at the audience...do you really know for a fact that Mary Austin was “by his side till the very last breath Freddie took”?..there’s a lot of Chinese whispers going around about Freddie’s life...check your sources.💐
@@josephinemonahan915 Like you I know nothing factual. Also like you only what I have read . In the documentary that I watched it had said that Mary Austin was with Freddie until he died. Did not intend to offend .
@@josephinemonahan915 How much money did he leave her? Freddie signed a will in September 1991, that gave half of his vast wealth to Mary and the rest to his parents and sister. Most of his friends, including lover Jim Hutton, were given £500,000 each or a house.Jun 28, 2022

You make me so happy! Queen is one of my top bands and always has been. Thank You for recognizing the off the charts talent!! Freddy and Queen had something so special. My husband and I love your videos and how knowledgeable and appreciative you are of this very special man Freddy and his band. I love to make suggestions of other music from the 70's and 80's you've never heard. So keep listening to Queen cuz I've never heard a song I don't love. The classic rock back then was so amazing and I never want that music Era to die so I'm going to suggest 2 songs and if you've never heard of these songs I think you will lo e them both😉 1. Boston - Peace of Mind 2. Heart - Crazy Thank you for the joy I get from watching you listen to this brilliant music, your reactions make me so happy and I'm sharing your videos and everyone has the same reaction to you as me. I've watched other channels having a similar premise as you and I like some of the others but not as nearly as much as your channel. Don't ever change! Jill
So glad to see you back reacting to Queen; you do it so authentically. Love your big smile. Suggestion: Save Me, Montreal 1981, Play The Game, Milton Keynes 1982. Two really nice ballads.
I love your reactions here! And you’re one of the only people who did a reaction video that highlighted that high note Freddie hits before he says “I still love you” to the crowd. That was a songbird type of high note with his vibrato and it was the best thing I’ve ever witnessed. This is probably my favorite version of Queen’s live performance for “Love Of My Life” but the version of this song from “Rock In Rio” from 1985 was right up there with this version from Wembley except the crowd in Rio sings a lot more of the song than Freddie does. Also, I can’t wait for your reaction videos for all of Freddie Mercury’s solo music videos from his 1985 “Mr. Bad Guy” album. Queen has a lot more to react to as well, you should react to “The Invisible Man”, “Too Much Love Will Kill You”, “These Are The Days Of Our Lives”(Queen’s final music video with Freddie before he died in 1991), and “Mother Love”(the last track Queen recorded in studio before Freddie’s death). There’s so much depth in Queen’s music catalog.
Beautiful reaction your smile says it all you have so many more amazing queen songs to react to but try and watch the crowd in Rio singing back to Freddie 300 thousand people so amazing thank you take care x x

Totally agree. That crowd just went wild.was great to watch
he seriously should check that one out!
You have just witnessed greatness!
Love love and love your Reactions to Queen! Thx
Don’t stop me now for a good feel factor plus Freddie’s amazing vocals 👍
Thank you for this great reaction its wonderful to see you back, please can you react to Save Me live at Rock Montreal 1981, I think we all need a bit of saving from time to time.
Fun reaction. You smiled all the way through.
Freddie & Brian were quite the duo. This is actually a stripped down arrangement from the piano based studio cut.
Always great to see them like this.
Yes.. I wanted o comment to tell him how much HIS smile was infectious and so genuine. A true love of the music and its expression.
There is nobody like Freddie, he had a gift.
And when Brian May lead guitarist plays his Electric guitar that guitar he made with his father before Queen became famous a priceless item to him !
Beautiful darling 🔥 Thankyou
Thanks for this.. I really love Brian's 12-string...
Gorgeous song
Incredible! Love this, he had the crowd under his spell!
He wrote this song for Mary !! And Mary Austin was by his side till the very last breath Freddie took.
As usual, a great insightful reaction. I immediately subbed when you did Rhapsody because you pick up details that most, if not all, reactors other miss. Hope things are well.
Brian May said when he plays solos he just tried to be an extension of Freddie's voice. 👍
Their duets are something else. Spine chillingly beautiful.
This whole performance is amazing. But Bohrmian Rhapsody and Under Pressure, you REALLY need to check those out!
Looks like someone became a queen fan! one of the only bands that i can listen to over and over again and i always find something new and can make me Cry!!
I still miss Freddy every day since his death. Love of my life always brings me to tears, because i know the story behind it. God bless Freddy and his beautiful, amazing voice. God i miss him. 😢
The classic rock back then was so amazing and I never want that music Era to die so I'm going to suggest 2 songs and if you've never heard of these songs I think you will lo e them both😉
1. Boston - Peace of Mind 2. Heart - Crazy
Thank you for the joy I get from watching you listen to this brilliant music, your reactions make me so happy and I'm sharing your videos and everyone has the same reaction to you as me.
So brilliant 🙏❤️❤️💜💜
Love you. X miss you Freddie. X
He always had the crowd in the palms of his hand. I wish I could have gone to see them
I love so many queen songs but I really like who wants to live forever video and live version at Wembley. Save me video and live and teo torriate. Live is also great 😊 oh and it's a hard life. Is also brilliant there's so many great song it's hard to choose as queen had such a variety of styles and brilliant music x
You need to watch Under Pressure live at Wembley. It’s AMAZING!! And I think you’re gonna be surprised!!
Freddie was and is loved very much. He left us this amazing music. What a wonderful gift. He will be forever missed.
I recommend You A Winter's Tale and You Take My Breath Away (Live At Hyde Park 1976)
You should watch Queen + Adam Lambert sing this song. It's just Brian and the audience (Freddie makes a cameo appearance 😉). It's pretty moving. Even now when Queen performs they pay tribute to Freddie multiple times throughout the concert.
