No auto-tune, no ear-piece, just pure raw talent. The guitarist is an astrophysicist. The entire band is amazing. You MUST watch their 20 minutes at Live Aid. Repeatedly voted the world's best live performance of all time.

Freddie Mercury was a GIFT to music, perhaps a gift to the world. He would've probably succeeded in most any genre where he used his incredible voice (even opera). Vocally, he was unlike anyone else. That voice was his signature. His bread & butter. His artistry. His claim to fame. What a showman! What a loss!

Freddie's astonishing voice it's not up for debate it's just fact. Even scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. He was able to create a faster vibratto and several more layers of harmonics than anyone else.

@@shilohauraable his voice naturally uses the ventricular folds to sing along with the vocal folds, this causes an effect called sub-harmonics, which are higher vibrations that occur together with the fundamental vibration generated by the vocal folds, see that some notes sung by Freddie sound higher than they really are, seem more intense.

From the UK 🇬🇧. Love your reactions and enthusiasm for Freddie ❤️💞. They got the best out of each other. Even Freddie didn’t like people calling him the leader of the band. He always said “ I’m not the band leader, I’m the lead vocalist. We are 4 equal members/partners”. Rog, Bri and Deaky worked as hard as each other because they are a once in a life time band. University degrees in Art, Biology, Electronics and PhD in Astrophysics. All song writers that individually wrote a number one song. We must give credit to the whole band, they were really talented musicians, all of them.
But of course, Freddie Mercury stands out, just being Freddie. His unique voice, his charisma on stage, his energy and the way that he, that all of them had to make the crowd feel like one of the band, was unbeatable and not able to be copied. Many have tried, none have got even close.

Your ears have been blessed by the king of rock :). Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole!
If you think Freddie's voice is versatile... you have no idea. He had an entire album with an opera singer called Montserrat Caballé in '88. If you listen to their duet "Ensueño" and then to "Exercises in Free Love" (only Freddie) from that album, you'd think he was two different people. And the only formal training he got was in piano. He had no vocal training! Think about that for a second... He was something else. He also wrote both of the songs you've heard so far (this one and BoRhap).
You mentioned his lungs. I know I've seen a video (I think from Queen's '86 show at Wembley) of Freddie jogging across their gigantic stage and singing without missing a beat, insane.
Can't wait to see more of your reactions. I'd love to see you react to one of Freddie's impromptus. It was a sort of vocal improv he'd do during the shows sometimes. Just search "impromptu queen" and you'll find several.

i think you could be right in saying that? i'm 59 now and have been a fanatic since '76, we always loved them all and knew how good freddie was but it is looking back now that we can see how truly amazing he was, great musician and fantastic performer, on stage he runs up and down steps without dropping a note, as a unit all 4 were on top of their game and each one is just as important as the other, it annoys me when people write Freddie Mercury and Queen!! 👑✊🇬🇧

3:43 Yes he is known for his fast Vibrato. 4:57 True thats why he is considered one of the greatest vocalist of all time, he has sung so many genres and he could adjust his Voice to everything and always sounded Great. Him singing Opera is really nice to listen to. 5:07 its not just your opinion but 90% of the Queen fans too xD. Btw Freddie learned singing by himself. 10:28, yes Roger Taylor did most of the high notes in the Harmonies, especially all the falsettos in Bohemian Rhapsody and Somebody to Love were him. A performance where you can really hear how beautifully high Roger can sing check out Lap of the Gods Live at the Rainbow 1974. Singing and Drumming at the same time is very hard and you don't often see drummers doing that, Roger is so special thats why I love him so much. They were always greater live, there are some songs that are better with the studio version but thats very very rare with Queen. Nice Reaction. Don't forget to always give the whole band credit, there is no Freddie without the whole band. The band also has no leader, they are equally greats.

I LOVED your comment! And yes, Freddie made it Clear that there was NO leader, he was the frontman and lead singer but every member of Queen is equally talented. John Deacon doesn't get enough credit, in my opinion. What a wizard not only on the base but he created a special speaker because of his knowledge of electronics. May, Taylor, and Deaky. All worked so hard with Freddie to create the Best sound, entertainment and performances and no one can top them!

It's not just Freddie's vocals that are the amazing thing. They are a genuine 4 piece band and all have input into the performances. They varied their live performances each time, especially riffing at the end. Only good musicians, aware of each other, can do that. They didn't see the point in just reproducing the studio version live.

The fact that none of that mattered to us, in the 70's and 80's. We were so nonchalant about how people dressed, wore make-up or their sexual orientation. David Bowie and Todd Rundgren wore tons of make-up, Elton John and Boy George were in full costumes. When New Wave hit everyone wore make-up. We did not care. We just loved the MUSIC.
Now people have been indoctrinated by the FAKE MORAL MAJORITY. They are fear-mongers. The crap with bathrooms, what are the chances that your child will run into an 8yr old transgender child in the bathroom? If they actually do, so what. The child does not want to draw attention to themselves. They will be in a stall. The fact that they are hypocrites is pathetic. They chased President Clinton until they got him lying about a consensual affair. Then we find out that Gingrich was having an affair and left his wife who had cancer. There were other republicans outed for having affairs. Thinking about them has given me a migraine. 😬🤯

@@Green-eyedGirl19 I grew up in the 60’s & 70’s my dad played in a folk trio & produced for a couple bands. Deep down I wanted to be a Go Go girl & then I wanted to be hippy! Glam Rock came along & I was completely intrigued! One moment I was an Osmond fan the next thing I knew I was going to KISS concerts! I thought Bowie was unique then Queen came along & I couldn’t take my eyes off Freddie. My mom loved the Beatles & was a huge fan of Queen & Axl Rose, yes!! She knew her music! I’m a conservative but do respect others’ opinions. I love music & sports which are deeply rooted in my upbringing! I’m Coach for the USA Racquetball Team & was inducted into the USA Racquetball Hall of Fame in 2013. I don’t want to be politically lectured to by the super stars of music & sports. @@debramoore7513 Oh wow, Racquetball. Congrats for being admitted to the Hall of Fame. I was born in 61. I had an aunt Sandra who was 11 years older than me. I was her baby. My Parents lived close she would babysit me. She loved the Beatles. I remember every Friday my Grandmother would drive us to Draisen's Music Store and my Aunt would pick out 45's. We would go back to their house and dance and sing. I was in Elementary School in the early 70's. I had a crush on Donnie Osmond. My sister and I got a record player and Osmond and Partridge Family Albums one year for Christmas. My parents listened to Country Music and in the 4th grade, I demanded my own radio. That was 71, so I heard Todd Rundgren, The Carpenters, John Lennon, The Jackson Five, then we got Disco, the Bee Gees. The first album I ever bought with my allowance was Earth, Wind and Fire. I was into Motown, also. I had Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Super Tramp...etc.... I never went on the Rock side. The 80's was Music Heaven for me. Tears for Fears was my favorite group. Their songs are very thought provoking. I personally think Everybody Wants to Rule the World is the Greatest 80's song. I have seen TFF in Concert three times. Those of us who became Adults in the 80's lived in a magical music universe. The majority of groups grew up with us. We were all the same age. We had MTV and VH1, when they played Music. Blondie was the first video ever played on MTV. I saw them in Concert opening for TFF. Many of the groups still tour. My husband and I go to concerts as our vacations. We have seen INXS, TFF 2x together, they were in concert with Hall and Oates, one time. That was great. I don't know if you have heard of LIVE FROM DARYL'S HOUSE, if not go online, NOW! He has great guests from every genre.
We saw U2's Innocence and Experience Concert in 2018. It was like an amazing Broadway Show. We also saw Dave Matthews, Cheap Trick, and Foreigner in 2017 and 2018.
Are you a Pentaholic? They are an amazing A Cappella Group. We saw them in 2019. Have you heard their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody? Brian May loved it. In ten years, they have never done a song that I don't like. I hope we will get to go to concerts this fall.
I actually met two really close friends on UA-cam in 2007 and 2008. I went to South Africa for three and a half weeks in 2016, that was amazing. I met Lionel on You Tube in 2007. We would write to each other and send our favorite songs to each other. Eventually we chatted on Gmail, then FB Messenger. He is a Tour Guide. I feel so bad for him with the Pandemic, he completely lost his career of 15 years. He is amazing, he is so knowledgeable about everything in his Country. We went on a five day Safari in Kruger Park. If you or anyone you know wants to go on the most amazing trip in the World, I can definitely help with that after we are free to move about the World. My other friend lives in Scotland. I was going to visit Scotland in the Spring of 2020. Hopefully I will get there in 2022.
Thanks for your comment! Stay safe and well. Sorry for the War and Peace comment. I have Asthma and I have only been out of my house less than 10 times in a year. My husband has an essential job, so I am home all day, bored out of my mind. I am tired of shopping online, reading, binge watching TV shows on Netflix and Amazon, doing crafts....etc....truly thank you!

What's missing in today's music is, look at how Freddie acts in his band. He knows he has top people covering him in his band. The energy is very high and they love so much what they do. Yes, the music today depends more on machines. They need to go back to the basics. The heart needs to come back in the music today. Maybe that will give the bands more energy and love for the music.
