  • Hey, we had some trouble with retracting our Thor Ace motorhome power leveling jacks. We wanted to share our trouble shooting ideas with you. We manually lifted the hydraulic jacks and then tried to figure out why our Lippert Components touch control panel system had a blinking error. (Error Fault Mode).
    ⭐Steps for Troubleshooting:
    1.)Check the manual and try to reset the system
    2.)Search the internet / UA-cam and check for a specific manual to your RV/Coach
    3)Call the manufacturer / tech support for additional help and suggestions.

    Thank you for this VERY informative video! You just saved our lives with our 2019 Thor Windsport when our jacks wouldn’t retract on a Sunday! We called 9 Mobil RV repair people, no one answered their phones and then we ran across your video! A million thank you’s! Of course when we got back in our RV, our panel wouldn’t stop beeping so we just disconnected it, but we will certainly call the manufacturer tomorrow!

    Thank you so much! I'm sitting here at a KOA in Texas, and all the lights were flashing! hitting the 4 buttons reset the system. Nice to be level again.😊😊

    My problem was all lights were coming on and the coach would not turn on the system. Luckily i fast forwarded to 7 minute mark and found how to reset! Thank you again. Also note that the emergency brakes must be depressed before pressing all four buttons! Thanks again and you saved us so so much heartache. I am now a subscriber! hehe

    Brother, thank you for ending another night of frustration! I should have looked on yt last night but was too exhausted. I had blinking lights telling me Wait, Engage parking brake and Excess Angle. Brake was on and parked right where several nights before had leveled with no issue?
    Last night I slept with the tiny bit of slope. Barely noticeable. Tonight I pushed the 4 buttons as you said and she's gtg! Many thanks!
    The techs oughta include this tip in their new purchase walk thru. Mine's barely a month old so I have learn as I go. Now to see what other content you have! 👍🏻🛎🛎

    Thank you for this video!!! I searched everywhere for this exact problem I was having after having to replace the seals, O-rings, gaskets, etc.. in one of my hydraulic lift cylinders. BTW, if anyone has a leak, save the $5oo to $900 they'll charge you for a new one... take the unit off and find a hydraulic repair shop; they will sell you all the required seals, rings, etc... The total cost for all of mine was under $60, and the guy at the counter put the new ones on for me. The manufacturer should be ashamed of themselves, they say you should just buy a new unit to save the trouble of finding the exact parts required... They don't put any data on the hydraulic cylinder on purpose it seems so you cant buy replacement parts..... who knows.... If you live in Michigan, I would recommend RC Fluid Power Inc in Davison; they treated me GREAT.
    Also, thank you for the link to the manual! You're AWESOME!

Easy fix with the two-second reset with all four buttons... wish that was in the manual!! Thanks again and excellent video!

    Your da man!! Thank you.... here’s what happen to us
    My batteries on my coach got drain I accidentally left my oil heater on for a few days I never check my connection we came home from a long trip it was night time , so I just plug it in never look if the power cord was connected to power. Any way when i check a few days later i realize the coach was blinking red light on dash board and control panel the dash was dim I mean it was dead it was a miracle the coach even stared. On then other hand it was nice and toasty inside the coach LOL.... I stare the coach it was a live again. I let it running for about 30 minutes everything was back to normal .......Well almost everything. I notice all lights were blinking just like that I have the same system and my jacks did not work. I try to look for a reset button I hold down off and on button, I try all I could think of nothing work. Then I started to research till I come across your video today I’m very appreciative of you guys i follow your instructions and it work like magic. Thank you so much it all works great again. I never had any issues with it to begging with ,but this fix the problem. One again thank you so much. Safe traveling friends!! Cheers.
    Is not over now I find out a weird clicking noise coming from then engine !!!! Not sure what it is the also happen after the batteries nearly died on me so if you know anything about it please let let me know this goes to anyone reading this.
    Once again thank you so much. Take good care and be safe.

      A high pitch click would be a relay. Don't know why though. Be sure you batteries are fully charged then turn each gizmo and gadget on/off to trigger all the relays. One may be stuck from when it went dead or "welded" the contacts together

    where are you disconnecting the power from specifically? the wires going into the jacks, or the one for the control box?

    • @RVBarndominium
      @RVBarndominium  2 роки тому

      On the hydraulic unit itself is a plug that goes to a direction relay. That relay controls whether it goes up or down according to what signal it gets. When disconnected it defaults to "raise the jacks". Im sure you can find info online for your make/model and/or call the manufacturer and they will send you tech info on your particular model

    I have a Thor and after I did the two second hold on the four arrows of the panel, I got a “low voltage” error. The two house batteries are 4 years old and the chassis battery is three years old. Do the jacks run off the chassis battery? Does this mean I need to replace the battery? I appreciate any clarification you can provide. Thanks

    • @RVBarndominium
      @RVBarndominium  7 місяців тому +1

      Take all the batteries out, charge them overnight then take them to an auto parts store and they will load test them. If a chassis battery is dead replace all of them. One weK one will kill the new one.
      The levelers use the chassis onboard batteries.

    My problem is on a 1993 Coachman Santara Spartan Diesel Pusher, I cannot locate the Leveling Master Panel anywhere. All I have is a light on the dash that shows Jacks Down. There is no control panel anywhere that I have looked. Someone had to put the jacks down somehow so I'm at a loss for words to describe my frustration with this location of the Jack Leveling Control Panel. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don

    • @RVBarndominium
      @RVBarndominium  3 роки тому

      Hey Don! We know first hand how frustrating that can be. The only thing I can recommend for you is to start with any manual book you might have access to. If you dont have that , can you ask the pervious owners or whoever put the jacks down? You might be able to call the manufacturer of the jacks or the motorhome for help too. The last recommendations would be to Google a search or ask in an online forum or Facebook group for help. Hope you can get it figured out. 👍

    We have a 2019 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. We purchased it new and this year, the first time out we had problems getting the rear jacks to go down. After resetting them a few times they decided to work. The last camping trip, everything worked great until we got home. We went to level our coach and the rear stabilizing jacks just clicked and would not go down. We got an error code on the panel that showed the right rear stabilizing jack was the fault. I checked all the wiring harnesses at the motor, they were clean and tight. We manually extended the rear jacks and then when we went to push the retract all button, all the jacks came up except the right rear. I pulled the motor from the gear box and checked the gear box and it seemed to be running smooth but when I turned the armature of the electric motor with my fingers, It was very rough and felt like there was gravel inside. Was not smooth at all. Am I right in thinking that the motor is bad and drawing too much amps? If so, can these motors be rebuilt somewhere since no one in Spokane Wa. will do them. Lippert wants 545.00 for a motor. If there is someone out there that can rebuild these motors, where and who? Am I right in my diagnosis or should I continue to look somewhere else. Is this normal for it to feel so rough when I turn the armature? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you. Dan DeRuwe

    • @RVBarndominium
      @RVBarndominium  Рік тому

      Unfortunately, I am not an RV mechanic. I'm just an RV owner. My jacks have never been like that so I cannot say whether it is a motor issue or not. To check to see if that is normal...take another one off and see if it sounds the same. It may just be that you're stripping the gears by hand turning it. I would assume that those levelers have a gear reducer on the motor or that the motor is connected to a gear.
      You can always get the gear model number and look for it on Amazon or eBay.
      Hope you find a solution
      Happy camping
