  • In this video we cover a handtrap or wrist control setup for a vicious elbow you can use in self defense or combat sports that allow elbows.
To practice this we use Revgear Mini T Micro Thai Pads (provided by Revgear): revgear.com/mini-t-micro-thai...

I always tell my son, “You just want them to realize that maybe they don’t want to fight you.” Love it!

Absolutely. Your first choice should not be to kill them. Maybe you're justified, but will the jury know that

Finally a youtube "how to" channel that actually knows what theyre talking about. The thing is, ive seen Icy mike execute several of these techniques in real life fights, and they worked just as he demonstrates. This man should have 100K followers right now if people wanna actually kearn real technique! Keep grindin mike!

Something I used when I was a little boy, while fighting bullys, before I learned karate!. The risk was, other guys can easily jump on you!. One on one, this is dope!.

Yeah if there is multiples you dont want to get too tied up with one guy... but if you can REALLY hurt that one guy it will discourage the others if they are still unsure how committed they are.

If anyone doubts the efficacy of handfighting to elbows, watch Jon Jones do it to literally anyone from within their guard. Usually he does it when people try to establish wrist control on him if I remember correctly, but in either case it's a great tactic that is proven to work at high levels of competition.

The only time I personally would use a head butt is when I messed up and whatever block I was doing wasn't good enough so I'll present the hardest part of my head for them to hit (also learned that from you)

Hey Mike, you may not want to admit it, but this is fighting like Wing Chun Or what Wing Chun was supposed to be. You know, close range, wrist trapping and elbows.
And there ARE counters ...at least in the stand-up game. One is the circling wrist escapes or "Huen Sau" ...which are pretty much exactly like what you showed. And yeah, everybody uses that. Pummeling in wrestling, etc. etc.
There's also a good counter-strike you missed for the defender ...a circling-over elbow, using elbow to counter elbow. It's called "Kup Jarn" or covering elbow. When the attacker pins your wrist against your chest and throws that hard horizontal or downward elbow, you relax the pinned arm and circle that elbow up and around the incoming elbow, letting the point of your elbow flop down striking the attacker hard in the face. It actually works. Trained realistically in a mixed context, it could be a really good tool. And since everybody uses elbows, you don't have to tell anybody that it was a Wing Chun move! After all, somebody else has to be doing this too.

Yep, that was exactly what I was wondering about. It sucks not having a gym around where I am, get ideas but gotta have a person to practice it. So I will live vicariously. Lol. What You said about the wrist lock I said same the other day, cause I took hapkido... But they use it in cacc too. OK so can you turn the hand the way you would for the "aikido" wrist takedown and throw the elbow? Thx

    • @hard2hurt
      @hard2hurt  6 років тому +2

David Joshua I just find it easier to grab and pin them like that... plus I am conditioned to do that from all the years I wasted in bullshido. I dont believe that it is possible to reliably use wristlocks while standing but it's a legit way to stay something else.

hard2hurt gotcha.. It works as a takedown.. If it's set up with something else.. Chi! Nah jk. A strike.

That knee-on-belly is nice, but if you just switch legs and do knee-on-face it is much more discouraging for the bottom.

Now try it on a 250lb guy in the street who is actually wanting to kill your ass! Let me know how the wrists technique works out if you are still alive!😂😁😂
What happens if you grab a world champ boxers or Conno Mcgregor's wrist does this still work?
Someone grabs my wrist it's getting snapped real quick!
