Even if Hollywood doesn't notice all the Anzacs did for the allies in both world wars Canada does. Canadians & Anzacs were hands down the best soldiers of both world wars in my opinion. God Save The Queen. Appreciation from Canada, true brothers in arms.
Canadians as well. Some of my ancestors served in the Black Watch of Canada during WW I. My grandmother used to say that a woman couldn't find an able-bodied man in all of Manitoba. As an aside, my great-grandfather LIED to get in (he was considered too old). He served with his six sons (my uncles). As a further aside, an uncle trained in Australia before shipping out during WW II. He thought you guys were cool. So do I.
My wife? Her dad was in the Middle East and New Guinea during WW2. He was awarded medals .The important thing to me? He was a great dad, and she speaks of him fondly.
Makes me wanna go throw on the "ANZACS" miniseries and watch it.. awesome.. It's an awesome piece of Australian film making, with the likes of " The Light Horsemen" That's what I'm gonna do right now, throw on me DVD of the ANZACS....
Within a year of its introduction, the C96 had been sold to governments and commercially for resale to civilians and individual military officers. The Mauser C96 pistol was also extremely popular with British officers at the time and purchased privately by many of them; numbers were supplied to Westley Richards in the UK for this purpose, although its popularity with the British military had waned by the onset of World War I.[10]
Nope many of us like my Father Great Grand Uncle were Proud to serve in the Australian Military. My Great Grand Uncle was a member of the 4th Battalion 1st AIF Killed in Action August 6th 1915 Gallipoli. My father was 6th Division 2nd AIF serving North Africa Middle East and PNG before joining RAAF 467 Squadron Bomber Command out of RAF Waddington. What I am saying we are proud Aussies No need to be a Super Power with all due respect. We are proud of who we are Mate

Hey Mate no one forgets the Kiwis. You are our mates across the Tasman and you always will be. Your men came ashore with the Aussies at Gallipoli we don't forget that. We Aussies know what you Kiwis did and most of us our proud of New Zealand and off the Men from the Shakey Islands. Were do you think the term ANZAC comes from? Australia New Zealand Army Corps. Lest We Forget Kiwi
Sipatbana Seriously? With the state they have left their Armed Forces they are just waiting to be invaded by someone. Australia, they will least suspect... :p
The uncle of my mum served Germany and died...you guys must respect the german soldiers... this was in ww2, and i am brazilian, he was too, but i am descendant of germans.
I recall reading somewhere that Australia has sent its diggers to fight in more places in the world than any other country even though it is a relatively young nation. Don't know if that is true or whether I misunderstood what I read.
@Zeeuw1957 Sorry friend but I do not speak Dutch but I have a good Dutch friend that lives a few doors away so I will get her to translate for me. Take care.
Take a closer look. On the Colour Patch you will see the Letter Capital 'A' 'A' Australian on the shoulder around the epelettes you will see Brass dressing on the shoulders that says AUSTRALIA. This is a Battalion Colour Patch of the 8th Battalion 1st Auetralian Imperial Forces. The 8th Battalion was from Victoria as the 4th Battalion my Geat Grand Uncles Battalion was from New South Wales
A is for Anzac Australians who fought at Gallipoli. It shows other soldiers they were the original soldiers who fought at Gallipoli. Not all the same patch colours had A on them.
It was a good weapon with high mag capacity. Came in handy for trench raids. Most likely taken off a dead German or prisoner. Australians were pretty notorious for taking trophies
@MrGateway75 Umm....no. Did the Australians fight in the Balkan war of 1913? In the Falklands? In the Russo-Japanese war of 1905? In the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s? In Algeria in the 1950s? In the Irish Civil War of the 1920s? In the Russian occupation of Afghanistan? In the middle eastern wars of the 1960s and 1970s? Etc, etc, the list goes on. I think you are badly misinformed.
@SuperDilligas so yeah whtas up with this discrition? they look polish with british accent, but definetly no portuguese, dont call us cowards our and europe's history says the opposite ; )
The red and white patch was their battalion patch. They wouldn't use a Polish flag. Because they thought Poles were just wogs. To them every country outside of Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Germany weren't white. They were wogs. Even french weren't considered white
Its ok Brother we all get in bad moods Can understand that. I saw on ANZAC Day that Kiwi Radio Jock saying bulldust about the Aussies. But mate I don't hold all Kiwis responsible for the mutterings of an idiot on Radio. Just some are born to be idiots and prove it every time they open their mouths. Just remember Mate Lest we Forget. Men from both sides of the Tasman. We have a lot to be proud off

Russell Coight couldn’t be the Poles anyway. During Ww1 Poland was a part of Austro Hungary, German Reich and Russia
You Aussies AND English are pretty damn tough. I'd be proud to fight along side of you any day.
Paul Hogan is a relic of an older better australia.
I went to Flanders and the Somme last summer, sobering the sheer number of GB&I/Aus/NZ/Can/Newfoundland cemeteries.
