Hello there,I have two 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, same model color and everything to a T. I unfortunately lost my key to one, could I use the others key and hold it under the ignition module responder after I've removed the ignition cylinder barrel and used a specialty tool to turn the ignition, would i be able to start and drive the other like that?
Hi Russian wolf and thank you for your comment. Every chip has a different value inside it, which is unique. Therefore, I doubt it would work. It may also cause security issues so I suggest you contact your dealer or local locksmith to address the issue. Hope this helps.

Hi I have a 2000 gallant but my computer to check the engine light is broken, would that effect the locksmith in making me a new key?
Hi and thank you for your comment.
It shouldn't be a problem at all. Locksmiths can do the coding with their machine easily. Hope this helps.
What this video shows for 2013 Mitsubishi key is actually 2007-2012 Galant. Something is off with your info.
Nice helpful video though.
Hi Jim. Thank you for your feedback. Will definitely double check the information and update it if necessary. Happy you found it useful :)
