Hey bud great video, quick question Ive owned a 2003 lexus gs300 and for the past 12yrs ive only had the valet key, both my local dealers dont want to give me my key altough i brought in my d.l and matching pink slip is there anywhere on this car where i can find it that you know of? Hey Brian! I’m Wanda- I was gifted a Xhorse Dolphin XP-005 automatic key cutting machine; tons of blank keys and fobs for just about every vehicle I can think of, and other tools to pop locks and such. The lishi has been my most difficult learning curb. I’m a veteran, single mom of 2 and I have ovarian cancer. I was gifted this equipment so that I can work for myself due to losing jobs while getting treatments and missing work (treatments made me too sick to work). Anyways- I’m struggling to get started because I truly want to understand everything I can before getting out there on my own. I don’t have anyone to teach me locally so I’m literally just watching your videos and some others trying to figure things out. I’ve sent messages to a couple locksmiths only to be left on read. I’m writing to ask you if you’d be willing to have a quick conversation with me about these stinking lishi tools and help me understand a few things. I did watch your videos in them but I still just can’t make it click. I have a 64 chevy nova ss, no keys, pulled the trunk lock cylinder and it has no codes for a new key. I'm pretty desperate to get a key made, 10 locksmiths told me they don't work on cars unless they're 1999 and newer. Any advice would be appreciated

Great videos and thank you for your time and willingness to share your experience. I am an Auto Technician and getting into the key cutting aspect of vehicle service. I have the IM508 programmer by Autel. My question is I would imagine one would need an LSID number to sign up for key codes from Rapid Codes or to purchase some of the equipment you have. Is this correct? I am thinking about registering with NASTF.
My advice to you is don’t rely on key codes rather use them as a backup. Master the lishi tool for a successful career as a locksmith. NASTF is not needed. Call Rapid Key Codes to sign up with them to have them as a backup.
@@CaptainLockPick Thank you for the advice. I have been buying Lishi picks. I saw in a video where a locksmith had a guidebook that listed what picks were needed for each vehicle by year , make, and model. Would you happen to know where I could buy one? @@CaptainLockPick I would disagree. We run 120 to 150 calls per week. NASTF has codes that many of the other vendors don't have. We also use another vendor in addition to NASTF. I don't like NASTF. It takes forever to go through their process but it's part of doing business. I could whine about this forever. There was legislation way back when that said key codes were suppose to be available to us without fees but that fell by the wayside. You have to have the attitude that you don't care what it costs as you pass your cost onto the customer. They are the ones who lost their keys not you. We are still cheaper than the dealer and we go to them. The only thing we aren't doing is the Lishi tools. We have them but we are so busy running calls my guys feel they can't take the time to master them so we just call for codes. I wish that weren't the case but it is what it is. We also aren't doing the ones where you have to take take half the dash apart to get to a connector. Once again we are so busy we lose money on easy jobs spending hours on the PITA ones. We only do cars too. Every year this gets more complicated. I come from the days of impressioning so this is all very different. We have about 10 different scanners including but not limited to an Autel 508, 608, Smart Pro and about 5-6 Chinese machines.

hey bro I work at a used car dealer an we get about 5 cars a week from auction that don't have keys or keys get lost we have about 90 cars an trucks on out lot an we have been using victory locksmith an they charging us about 375 to 450 depending on the cars or trucks can you tell me what scanner you got an what I would need to get started cause I can start a side hustle making keys for my work an just charge them like 50 bucks less then victory an mayby start a locksmith business I live in Dundalk md would I need a business license ?
Ok you can cut the key but the key in any gmc/Chevy today is also chipped. I know how to program a chipped key but to purchase one I had to go through the dealership regardless. So for future knowledge are gmc chips specific or generic? Can I get a random blank with a chip in it and cut the key and go through the program process or do I still have to buy a $85 key from the dealership

I've been using RAPID Key Codes out of Missouri for the past couple of years and I believe they sold out to someone else but it was like a close family friend but also use auto code because you can just use their app 24 hours a day, but there are limitations on certain models for Key Codes that you can get and that sucks that's why it's always good to have a good relationship with your Dealerships if you're needing that key during the day though a lot of services will only let you get up to a certain year model like for example Ford, I cannot get a code past 2014 through any key code service that I go through and I go through multiple code services and GM codes are super expensive but most of the time I use my Lishi, pop the ignition on GM or door lock cylinder like Toyota or Honda depending on which vehicle you're working on but yes, sometimes you do need a back up for a cold service or if the weather is really bad and you just want to get the job done

I have a question to ask you or anyone reading this comment. I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla. I lost the key so I had a couple people come out to cut a key and reprogram the key. One person said the 'immobilizer amplifier' was broken and that's why they could not reprogram the key. A few days passed and I found the original key however it would not start the car because the old key was erased from the computer and the car was in program mode with the security light on. I bought a new key, ignition, immobilizer amplifier, ECU all from the same make and model and all from the same car so they were already merried together. When I put the parts in my car it would turn over but not fire up. The car was running perfectly fine before I lost the key. Any ideas on how to fix this or what I can do to finally get the car started ?
You need to have the key reprogram
If old key has been erased and you have replaced ecu and other parts maybe an issue, however, maybe worth putting everything back in and reprogram key back to the car.

I assume you mean trunk? Back in the day we pulled the glovebox lock. It contained 4 of the 6 wafers needed for the door and trunk. We used a progression chart to find the other two cuts by trial and error. It takes up to 3 blanks. It takes maybe 10 minutes total for the entire process. Keeping it real I don't think we even carry blanks for those any more in the trucks. Space is limited and you might get one of these every 5 years.

1. Have you ever tried to open something for a client were unable to? What do you do? (car, home, business).
2. What services do you provide? I've been researching and it seems there is so much in locksmithing. A bit overwhelmed.
3. Where do you buy the supplies for your automobile keys when you use that electronic reader and machine?
I truly enjoy your videos and hope that you can help me with these questions. Been difficult finding a job at my age so I have to try something.

(1) I have ran into certain vehicles I couldn't open due to the back in the day. Ideally you can open anything but it comes in between destructive and non destructive. (2)My company does Automotive, Business, and Residential. We don't drill safes but we do safe code changes(cost ROI not worth it) No CCTV since the city ordinance calls for electrician and license's. But we offer a selection of services. (3) We have used multiple suppliers over the past 20 plus years doing this. We are now down to CLK Supplies and American Key Supply primarily. Most of the other suppliers have been bought out by big cooperation's. Machines depend on what you want to do, Also FYI 1 key programmer won't do it.
I remember this happened to me once in a parking lot, I clicked my unlock button to hear where my car was and it unlocked another car.

Nice why dont you just tell thieves where all key codes are stamped on each vehicle.
They’d have to have a machine to cut the new key, know how to program it and all. Or they’d have to show an ID and vehicle registration to whoever they go to in their attempt to have the key cut for them. But still, they can’t program it without the correct equipment so the most they could do is open the car door, unless the car is super old without a chip in the key. So… this scenario you mention is highly unlikely. Hope that eases your mind.
