- Married couple Fozia and Fahim Siddiqui run Zam Zam Market, a popular Pakistani food market in Los Angeles. This family business, comprised of Fozia, Fahim, and their son Talha, serves curries, kabobs, barbecue, biriyani, and more authentic Pakistani fair that you can’t really find anywhere else.
The Siddiquis explain how they made their way to Los Angeles in search of a better life, how Fozia and Fahim’s love for one another is the special ingredient behind their market’s success, and how the food at Zam Zam’s pays tribute to their own family’s history.

I went to high school with Talha back in 2016. Some of these comments are shockingly rude and so judgemental just because of his voice. The vast majority of y'all here don't even know him. Talha is one of the sweetest, funniest, smartest, hard working, and humble people I've met in my life! Please be kinder to one another
@- king- Learn to spell valley.
Thank you.
@Clive Nyathi imagine being mad because someone said you shouldn't be a dick for no reason, grow the fuck up.
But is he gay?
Is he gay?

@@horticasey what are you talking about 🤣🤣
Its funny cause he gay ..
Why is he talking like the 80s valley girls lol
I went here last week, the lady was there, and the food was really good. She takes the order, there is no formal menu, and she won’t charge you until you eat. It literally feels like you are at home. It’s not packed and I got the beef kabob, 2 sodas, 2 puff chicken pastries and the chicken baylani and it came to only $17. Such an amazing place
Amazing. I love biryani too.
Yes that's exactly how restaurants are in asian and arab countries, you pay after you eat and no formal menus in half of the restaurants. It does make you feel warm 😊
😭😭 I'm craving for food
hehe you got some names wrong but at least you made an effort ;)
not anymore it ain't. no empty seat in the house
The lady runs the show. Its refreshing seeing a Pakistani lady so independent and confident. The son's got his mother's personality. The dad is a helper and a gentle soul. That phone in her hands haha, the interview can continue but business ain't stopping.
@Clive Nyathi isn't that the case 90 percent of the time? Why complicate a simple observation. Whatever they have seems to be working.
I mean if they enjoy working like that it's wholesome
Thats literally my mom around the house with a phone in one hand!
@@ayeshas350 It's not healthy to see a meek man and a dominating wife. Also it causes psychological and hormonal problems for the kids. "Refreshing" my foot

I'm Mexican and I loooove Pakistani food. I had a coworker who is from Pakistan and she cooked amazing!! Some dishes remind me of Mexican dishes but way spicier and more spices. Sooo goood!!
The cooking process is pretty similar. But I guess good food is always gonna be similar to other great foods
When a Mexican say its spicier than the amazing mexican food, one should shut up and pay attention.
Interesting fact: we Indians got our chillies from South America, so if you find our food too hot, you know who to blame😜♥️
@I once thought I was wrong but I was just mistaken eh northern mexican dont eat as spicy as southerners
Mexican food and Pakistani food tastes soo good

The gay son probably translated it wrong
The Knight LMAO
She said Fahim will call him back in half an hour to be precise
Milan Shukla bad subtitled

I LOVE how she had the landline ready at hand even in the interview. 🕶
@Raul Moreno no, not really. It's a little business, miss a call and you could miss out on money.
🤣
After working with them for 3 years, I learned that Pakistanis will ALWAYS answer the phone no matter what
They also mistranslated and said 5 min when she actually said half hour

I grew up with this restaurant around the corner when it was located in Culver City, I’m so happy it finally gets the recognition it deserves
whats the story with the son is it a son ?
Arham Khan I don’t care about the son, gay people have been around forever. But, how good is the food?
She’s like, “listen, I don’t care who’s here, the show must go on” I love how careless she is lol. What a beautiful story🙌🏾
That phone doesn't stop ringing. Business comes first.
Lol I love this lady! It’s like she’s not on camera

Hey did Covid-19 get u. We need to know did u like it Bunghole 🤨
As an Indian I can say proudly that Pakistanis remain true to authenticity. Different from all the Indian/Punjabi restaurants you dump loads of cream and food color in their food to make it appealing to white folks. Get real y’all.
They are not Punjabis they are Urdu speakers whos ancestors came frm Hindi belt of India , Dehli , Agra in 47 to karachi like me .
But above all we r Pakistanis 💚
Mr M.K I didn’t say they were Punjabi. Please reread the comment and read comments properly before sharing your thoughts. Do not imply that I said something I did not say.
You're right. One of the most difficult thing in US is to get authentic South Asian food and most of the food is made to be palatable to wider American audience. Stay true uncle and aunty
I visit many local Indian restaurants and you're right - menus are localised to the local market but I wouldn't necessary say it is a bad thing, I even seen this in India as well - I came across what they called "Indo-Chinese" cuisine and I absolutely loved the fusion of Chinese food adapted to Indian taste/preferences. McDonalds in India also had to adapt to local taste.
I think the reason why you find Pakistani cruise more closer to food back home is that the cruise is not as known to the West as well as Indian cuisine and most of the clients are expat Pakistani. Another recent example of a particular cuisine going local is Korean cruise where it's Japanese and Chinese counterpart had already done it.
That's tasty too in it's own localized way

@wtnomad What's your problem, if somebody wear Hijab or Burkha? You have no rights to comment on their choice. They know what is good or what is bad for them. We must take care of our own Business.

Great show. I will be sure to visit the restaurant. Food looks great. And if the son is reading this post, here is some advice. Don't listen to the negative comments posted by the trolls who somehow need to put others down to compensate for their feelings of inferiority. A bully basically masks their insecurities by picking on others. You don't need the approval of strangers; so live your best life. Cheers.

It's good that they are serving authentic Pakistani food instead of westernized versions
Props to the son for being so loving and respecting of his parents, nothing like what I've seen with American sons who throw their parents in to care homes as soon as they get a job.

Elemental Designs
Elemental designs it’s quite prejudiced to say “Indian markets” and not even try to distinguish between Indian and Pakistani food!!! Most of the “Indian” markets in the USA are Gujarati and are solely vegetarian and do not have any of the dishes that we have in Pakistan ie: Nihari,pays,tak-tak etc which are all beef dishes! Indians do not cook or eat meat!
Shaurya Joshi
It’s not that common in India...the ones in USA are primarily vegetarian as I live there and I know what the locals eat! There are number pics Pakistsni dishes that no one eats in India...
Shaurya Joshi
No there are many other variations as well...like the Hazara district and even in The far North...there is a difference in terms of spices, heat etc as in Pakistani food we do not use as much spice...we also do not make dishes with paneer, coconut milk, vine leaves, certain vegetables etc...the only cuisine similar to Pakistani food is from Laknow which is a predominantly Muslim city. It is important to make a distinction between different food styles and I am trying to educate a NON south Asian so that they do not make broad generalisations!
- king-
I’m not talking about balochi or Afghan cuisine...tak o tak is a Lahori dish and paya is also a Lahori dish! There are dishes from Muree/Hazara (kpk) where my family is from and we are Hindko speaking not Pashtuns!
Don’t just generslize ok!!!
There is so many amazing places to eat like this right under our noses. Just have to get out and explore your area.
