Thank you Ken, you made my life a lot simpler. I am a old dude who until recently had no computer knowledge, not even able to fire one up properly. Now I can store my music files safely and I don't need a blank cassette (LOL!)

Hey, Ken: I'm an old guy and by no means a digital native, so I wanted to thank you for the best flash drive tutorial that I was able to find. Simple, clear, concise and perfect for my limited ablilty. Also, thanks for not making yourself out to be the biggest computer guru since Bill Gates.
Wow! I finally encountered someone who provided a clear and concise explanation of a process without rushing as if they were in a hurry to a Black Friday sale. Thank you.
Thank you, I have had the same computer for 10 years & finally getting a new one ! this really helped to simplify how to copy and save my files to new a flash drive
I just wanted to give you a huge thanks. My brother recently passed away and I wanted to put all his info in a usb, I’ve never used a pc before until I came across the video and this is the easiest way to save things on a usb, thank you so much. Have a great new year🎉❤
Best and easiest info I've ever seen. Hats off to you and I'm a new subscriber so I hope you have many videos here I can learn from. Have a great day Viking!!
Thanks for the tutorial man, it's very easy and useful step. This video way better than 20 minutes tutorial which I've couldn't even understand. Once again, thank you for your support.
Hello 👋 What if the video that i transferred to my usb is long (1hr) and it won't play the whole video? Is there something I could do about it? (Sorry for my grammar)
Just sent for new laptop with Windows 10 so I could perform this fun myself. I have been a tablet addict so I have get back to computing. You gave me confidence😊!
Thanks. Clear and concise. Didn't know about the eject step. I have an external hard drive and I think that I may have corrupted the files because I missed that step.
In all the years of having computers, I've never felt the need for a thumb drive, until now. This was very informative, and helpful, and you touched on everything I 'sort of knew', and watching your video showed me, I guess I know a bit more about computers than I thought! The only thing you didn''t mention...how do you tell when the 'stick' is getting close to being full. I assume something will pop up on screen like a warning...you're running out of room...but most likely it won't. Thank you again for this right to the point, informative video.
I'm glad this video was able to help you out. To check how much space is left, open up the file explorer on your computer. On the left hand side, find your drive and right click on it. Then select properties. This should show you how much space is still available.
@@NorthernVikingEveryday Hello (again). I could never get mine to work past the clicking on docs then my pc. Hi thanks for best and east to follow how to do this. I have windows 11 installed on a 32Gb SD micro card that I put in a USB device. Truly thankful for this! I obviously have a lot of computer knowledge knowing that I make animations, but recently was trying to transfer my files to my new laptop so I could continue my work!

The video on my old laptop doesn't work anymore. Is there some way to transfer the files to my new laptop just using cables(?) so I won''t have to take the hard drive out of the old laptop?
I was able to do the first method here, putting my laptop pics onto my new flash drive, but on some photos it says "error" and file may be something or other. I have a ton of pics on here and not sure why some wouldnt be ok. Also, are we supposed to format a flashdrive before putting anything on it? Thank you. ( I did press "eject" before taking the flashdrive out",
Great tutorial/instructional Video Ken. Finally, someone who explains clearly & slowly. Thank You 👍 Two Questions --- How to copy EVERYTHING on my Laptop to a USB flash drive ?? How to copy files/items from Android phone to my Laptop ??
Glad it was helpful! You probably won't be able to copy all the files off a laptop to a flash drive. They aren't typically big enough. You would probably need an external hard drive. Typically this would work the same as a flashdrive where you find your files on the computer and copy them over. As for Android, Unfortunately I don't have a video on the topic but I'm sure there should be some out there.
Hi there...this is super ! Question...my laptop does not have arrow up/down...except up/down saying Page Up....Page down....What do I use to highlight all the files to be copied on desktop (mostly there are folders with photos in it...and individual photos)...Would deeply appreciate the help... Also...being 2024...Sept end....Windows 11 is on my laptop. Thanks so much.... !
Sorry, I'm a computer ignoramus. When I did exactly what you said, and dragged the file over to the USB area, it didn't move the file, all it did was create a "shortcut" to the file. No file was actually moved to the USB. How can I move a file? You make it look easy. I'll try the "send to" method now.
I have a 3year old hp Stream with windows 10. The only in the steps that appeared were the name of the flash drive I plugged in on the top middle part of the screen. Other than that, all of the step by step instructions never happened on my HP Stream.
