Sports Betting And The Rise Of DraftKings

- Sports betting in the U.S. is booming. During the 2021 NFL season an estimated 45 million Americans are expected to wager at least $12 billion. Since a 2018 Supreme Court ruling, sports betting is now legal in more than 30 states.
A flood of new customers eager for risk and excitement has made DraftKings one of the nation’s biggest sportsbooks. In the third quarter of 2021 DraftKings revenue rose 60% from the year prior to $213 million. During that same period with mobile betting launching in several states the number of its monthly unique paying customers rose 31% to 1.3 million.
And the online sports betting and gaming industry in the U.S. is just starting to grow. As of 2021 only 4% of gross gaming revenue in the U.S. was generated online compared with 45% in a more mature market like the UK. The online sports betting market in the U.S. is expected to be worth nearly $40 billion by 2033.
So what does the future look like for legal sports betting in America and what challenges lie ahead for sports betting providers like BetMGM, FanDuel and DraftKings?

Calling it "gaming" instead of "gambling" definitely makes me feel this was paid by draftkings
Probably was, but that's a term a lot of the gambling industry uses (as well as the regulatory boards overseeing them)
noone force nobody to make a bet, in Europe it was always legal...i don't realy understand why it is illegal in the US where you can buy guns and weed legaly but not make a bet on your favorite team, and you even have a chance to win too.
U obviously missed the point where it mentioned that CNBC's parent COMCAST invested in FanDuel, DraftKings biggest rival as well as sister company NBCUniversal investing in pointsbet, CNBC,to avoid a conflict of interest scenario, had to interview DraftKings instead for this piece
Like how we call race horse events 'racing' when it's really all about gambling

You’re a total fool if you bet on any of these sites. #nonHumanOpponents.

When I look at the chart, we're going up. However, when I look at the overall economic situation, I say we haven't seen the bottom yet. Trading has been going smooth for me. More emphasis should be put into day trading, as it less affected by the unpredictable nature of the market. Thanks to Fyetus Dogan for his amazing skills for helping me earn 12 BTC from 1.9 BTC through day trading. Great TA as always>🙌🏻.
Fyetus Dogan really helped me understand bear markets much better... Great content, and loved it.
Crypto is bringing a different revolution in the world economy. People who are optimistic investors Earn consistent…. Others will just sit and watch!.
This sound so good and I would like to be a party to this, I have been loosing a lot of money trying to trad on my own i will like to try him
I read about him too on website . That is how I get connected to him. Thanks for putting this down here 💃
YOU WILL NOT WIN THE LONG RUN . Don’t even try it people. It’s the new modern casino & the house will win
Referring to what
People that do win over time are mathmaticians with algorithms and arbitrage methods.
They ban people that win too much.
@@chiquita683 or hire them to play with rich chumps.
Edit: Wait, did mean casinos or draftkings?
agree
Recently, it has been the opposite of rise.
Meanwhile, draft king stock just hit all time low
Cause they're losing a lot of market share to FanDuel, BetMGM, and to a lesser extent Caesars and Barstool. They also got in trouble for a lot of shady stuff going on regarding the black market. Consumer trust is really low for them.
They spend too much money acquiring customers... FanDuel does it better.
buy low sell high
Now is the time to buy I be back at the comment 6months from now
What about the rise of winners being banned that I have been hearing about?

Probably still reeling from not being able to buy out competition in BetMGM and DK's crappy ads.
CEO - but isn't that an "edge" for gamblers? 🤔
In a casino you see the dealer pull the cards from the deck. However on on-line blackjack or poker the cards can be manipulated without the player not even knowing.
It's a scam, where the house will always wins.👎
That’s a total bs. Gambling is gambling and the only way for a gambling company to make a profit is to win the bet I the long run. So the player will always lose money. This report is trying so hard to sugarcoat the gambling industry.
Please don't call it gaming. It's gambling, or rather fraud, as the odds are always in the house's favour
and that's the challenge
I am currently on a 4 week win streak you dont know what you talking about
Sounds like a bitter loser to me
fraud? lol what a clown
You can never win against the house - And if you're winning, you're the House
And the day this video comes out Drafting is down 10%
"The easiest way to win money in a casino is to own one" - Steve Wynn By no means do I think sports betting should be illegal. I recommend people to procede with caution. Put spend limits on even if you think you are under control. Take a break every once in a while. Cool off for like 4 weeks. I find these things help me play responsibly. But know this. In the long run you will lose.
Gambling usually is a losing proposition. One may win a few times at first, but keep losing way way way more in the long run. I will NOT let my kids or myself gamble at all. It is only looking for trouble and costly problems...
its called entertainment, who cares if someone wants to spend 20 bucks at the strip club, a few drinks at the bar, or betting on their favorite football team. people can spend their hard earned money however they want
The minimum bet on Draft Kings is $0.10 so people can bet as little as they want to.
@@nickd2296 hmm that's the same marketing strategy crack dealers use..
I can’t even front I’m just now picking up sports betting in the last couple months more aggressively . Before it was here and there but now I realized how fun, quick and easy you can make 💰 if your smart responsible and knowledgeable. So I’ve been driving from NYC to jersey to make bets lolz
like smoking, this industry should be heavily regulated. No tv ads. No sports team sponsorships. No social media ads. Ideally each state should have a public nonprofit gambling company where any profits go to good causes
I agree
public non profit gambling company would be terrible. No innovation, no incentive to give good service. Either ban or regulate, do not have the government provide. Have a gambling tax where all bets have an additional X % on top. All that money can go to the good causes you're talking about.
It's called the state lottery except they kinda do have a social media profile nowadays and sponsor teams too. They make more off the lottery than some rando in their state hitting on DraftKings.
Well they were via PASPA, but that was struck down in 2018 by the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Non-profit"
They stopped reading after they got to that word.
its not gaming its gambling. Call a spade a spade.
$150 billion going off-shore because of wrongful decisions to ban a hobby that you can't ban.
Not always offshores, but it is a negative sum game as it costs to maintain the house and all that is happening is a transfer of wealth from the dumb to the smart.
5:27 How to low key promote Apple's product.
Call it what you want. It’s gambling
They are talking about the gambling problems and draftkings but creating an account of robinhood or webull app looks like a gambling app.
No, if you study investing. I do invest in one of those platforms and it's going well for me because I do it responsibly, with knowledge about what companies I want to invest (long run).

I expect California to eventually have its own sports betting, working closely with the Native American tribes on ownership. But because California provides the largest numbers of visitors to the Nevada casinos, there may be pressure to *NOT* offer legal sports wagering in California because of the fact it could quickly hurt Nevada casinos.
We have quite a lot of casinos right here in California already. It is also been trending the last decade that Californians go to Vegas for the experiences and then gamble while there. We do not travel there SOLELY for the purpose of gambling. We can do that here in California already.

sports betting accounts for such a tiny fraction of a casino's take, trust me it wont hurt them much. obviously they will still be against it but hopefully california does legalize soon like many other states
Why would California care if it hurts Nevadas casinos? They don’t. They want the revenue for themselves.
cnbc makes money by not betting on but setting who wins and looses in the games
Congrats to everyone who is early And who found this comment 👏 ❤.
I dont mind sports betting being legal but it seems dangerous to allow online casinos and betting to exist. Seems your setting people up for addiction if you can have them betting 24/7 on their phone. Atleast with the casino you have to go to the casino physically lol. Australia has a huge gambling addiction problem because of the prevalency of casinos and slots everywhere
this guy win every game awakenbeerus
I win 65% of the time betting on the under. Quarters for bball and first half of football. Always bet the under
I love gambling.
I'm a pro gambler since 2009. The positive advice to gamblers is to use money management. Never bet all in. Bet on what you can afford. Sports futures is profitable than sports regular season bets. Parlay bets is not profitable to most gamblers. Fade the public and fade emotions or you will lose money.
Good job! 1/2 of 1% of gamblers are legit pros!
Competition has been intense as the industry’s top sportsbooks continue battling for market share.

Sports betting is stupid money because the odds are always against you.
not always the lines r often incorrect and offer value
I know many many people who are poor due to gambling in the UK. Its a great way to snatch middleclass and poor peoples disposable income every month.
This is a huge problem in communities. However people will still gamble as its advertised and pushed almost everywhere. Kids football teams are sponsored by local book keepers for instance. Crazy i know.
Im investing in Draft kings, simply due to it happening reguardles of ke doing so or not. Also im nto an ethical invester as i invest into US, UK, china and russian companies already and theyr all bent.

I've struggled for a long time but you start to catch on to the trends and strategize it's easy to win. Especially considering you can cash out on money line parlays before the bet is even settled
do they want to bring back the mafia?
Who needs sports betting when you have SPACs?
And frankly that's actually productive work instead of simple transfer of wealth.
Draft kings went public through spac. That way you can lose money on their platform and lose money on their shares
I like how they blame athletes "being competitive" for being susceptible gambling and not that MOST (certainly not all) but MOST athletes come from backgrounds of poverty and low education
But yeah, keep blaming they are just TOO competitive to handle money! HAH!
I gave up sports betting.

Why is the stock performing so poorly its uninvestable in my opinion
Casinos and online gambling should be banned permanently within USA.
Nowadays it's crypto. See, most people want easy money but they don't know the value of it.
The choice is yours. Nobody forces you to gamble
you have a 50% chance of winning
it ain't that high, but don't let that deter you.

That's funny because most people I know use draftkings over the others
