i think you did a great job, just would've like to see more work done on door and grate before painting black. Do you not have a sandblaster? Not talking down just curious. Maybe its my OCD lol
I don't have a sandblast, but I'll have one soon. I have already bought half of the necessary equipment.

Didn't think you could have restored the casing on that stove. It was to far gone but what a great job restoring and bringing a piece of history back to life :)
Rust remover did a fantastic job restoring the broken hatch lid. Went in broken came out fixed. 😆
i find 2 last year of this so called "Graben Ofen" or also "Bunker Ofen". In both cases the manufacturer is the company "Oranier" which still exists today. Production period 1936 to 1944. One was hardly rusty because it was hidden in a bunker under tons of rubble, the bad one I restored more extensively. The original color was olive green (RAL 6003), not black... Both stoves are almost in top condition again and I also tried heating with them outside, also to burn in the color properly.

How do you know that the stoves were painted in ral 6003?

So many questions. Being impossible to repair and restore it appears you have a source of parts needed. The cast iron door appears to have been cast in 1947 by maybe the same company that did the original.
Wise choice in replacing the outer casing with possibly stainless steel. I'm a retired commercial sheet metal fabrication mechanic so I did notice a bit of knowledge you showed in working with stainless steel.
Thank you for saving an item that might have been sold for scrap metal by others.
You have rightly noticed. I made the case from stainless steel. The iron door have been cast
before 1943 and was found on the German defense of 1943

Great. I love it. Fantastic job. Just two little things : the hatch- we don't know if it's repaired or replacement and the other- the Philips screws- I don't know for sure but I don't think they would use the Philips screws on something like simple soldier's stove from 1940's when Philips screws where invented in the 1930's and they were not really that popular until late 1950's, some countries even 1970's. I'm not criticising anything, I love your job. If I'm wrong please tell me where. I love history and restoration so I'm very nosy 🤣👍👍👍

Nice little restore. I liked the sheet metal working parts to rebuild the totally rusted original parts. To improve, you could explain what you are doing, what materials you used etc. Like what did you soak the rusted metal parts in? Did you use high temperature black paint or is it just normal paint and the restore is just for show? Also why did you not use square nuts and flat head bolts to replace the rusted ones you ground away to make it more authentic? Keep it up. And it seems to be missing the chimney pipe with conical top as well.

Maybe it´s just me but, i like the slotted screws better than the phillips. But a very nice job indeed, well done...
Good job but replace those modern phillips screws for simple plain ones as in the 40's...
Did these stoves come with a stand/feet? Thinking of the troops this would be difficult to keep level, especially on cold ground.

1. I was expecting rust removal by either sandblasting or electrolysis. Rusty spots are still under the paint.
2. I was hoping that part of the body will remain original and part will be welded.
3. The paint from the bologna will burn out after the first use of the oven.
4. Now this is just an art object.

Fantastic restoration, excellent rebuild, just one question and one comment, comment first, it’s a pity you didn’t use slotted screws when you reassembled, keep the spirit of original, and question in the opening part of disassembly the cover was broken and missing a part, and in the assembly it was complete, I assume from another one found in the past, great work as I said, keep them coming 👍😁
Phillips heads were invented by a Portland, Oregon fellow shortly before ww2 for machine tighten screws

Very great restore
Those Stoves where produced from Haas in occupied ukraine (Dnjepropedrowsk) from 1942 to September 1943, in nearby 10.000pieces/month. A "delivery unit" includes the stove, 2 Meter stovepipe, a 90° break joint and a "rain hat"! ORIGINAL Blackplate was used......not coloured casual plates...... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackplate

It's always great to have the right tools for the job. I'm sure those rollers and benders don't come cheap, unless it's your workplace that the work is being done. I spent a lot of time in one of mine on weekends with all the machinery there.

По чугуну молотком рискованное занятие я бы не советовал а то реставрировать было бы нечего и напильником по ржавчине эпический кадр ,)) почти от " от заката до рассвета" щавелевую кислоту тоже зря перевёл чугун очень хорошо и щеткой на углошлифовальную машинку ,"болгарку") и будет счастье тебе ну если конечно не хочешь пескоструйной)), ну и поскольку корпус сделал не из черного металла а из нержавейки ))и боты тоже мог бы поставить нержавейку и закладные элементы под гайки из нутри приварить , ну Так чтоб не мучется потом если использовать будешь ,а корпус не тонковат?? А ржавые болты с гайкой мог бы и погреть очень хорошо всё откручивания.А напильником по ржавчине сильно !!и молотком по тонкому чугну страшно....

Hi, really good job on this, but is the paint rust proofing the metal? And is the paint a heat proof one? Is the paint safe to use on cooking appliances? As you create more content, explaining a few things would be appreciated. Also, the new piece you got, was it salvaged, bought or made to specifications? Just really curious here. Thank you for your comment. I painted the stove with heat-resistant paint + 800 ° C. This paint is intended for painting stoves.
