- A fun choke from the Turtle Position. I learned this as a blue belt and then made it my goal to get it in live rolling because I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Sadly it took me almost 3 months to get it because our instructor yelled at us if we tried to rest in the Turtle position.
The best time to use this is if your opponent tries to rest in Turtle or they actually play from the turtle position.
Be careful when going for this that you do no kick your partner in the back of the head while swinging your leg around. To avoid this make sure you really stand up and disengage.
Because you disengage for this move, you may be letting your opponent back into the game. It is for this reason that I do not use this move often.
You may feel inclined to practice this move slowly but the momentum of this move makes it much easier. You will find that after you get the movement down it is amazingly easy.
"The answer is yes, we will run into the wall...didn't stop the technique though!" 🤣😂👍
Very cool - going to try that next time I see a turtle!
What about a frog??
This is a great move for me as I wrestle a lot so my fellow students will think I'm just getting normal postion. Thanks coach.
We are rock star, I love your tech..., The real helicopter choke, thank you Professor.!
I got someone with this today and I felt like a boss lol. I'm a lowly white belt with about 8 months experience. I got it after I had gotten choked unconscious and for some reason I was rolling really really well afterwards
Narley
Is the Choking hand(first grip) at collar bone, or can it be lower?
I'm looking for crucifix entries.
So the wall is a counter? Cool choke though.
My mom' boyfriend does turtule guard a LOT, definitely gonna try that next time I roll with him lmao
Did u tap him out?
Great grappling always gives great tutorials
Can you please show what you would do instead, if he started moving and you had to abandon the helicopter?
I hit this for the first time today. First try, too! I attribute that to the excellent video you put out here! My opponent never saw it coming...probably because I've been trying for a Peruvian Necktie for so long that he didn't think that a single collar grip was anything to worry about.
I about murdered a stubborn blue belt with this last weekend... He didn't want to tap!! Slick stuff
LoL. This is brutal if you got this locked on and he didn't want to tap.
I pulled off this technic on a dude heavier than I am and it worked perfectly. Although I sprained my wrist a bit.
Thanks
Awesome love it
Love this choke
Saw a clip of Rafa hitting this but instead of the arm he scooped the far side leg. Any objection to doin that instead?
My assumption is if Rafa is doing it it's probably pretty good :D
aernt you suppose to put your chest on his back to put weight on him before you roll??????
Different choke. I would do that if I was doing a rolling Bow and Arrow.
When I try it....I hope there is No wall !......lol
i love bjj but judo is so much more lethal
Basecaly tornado choke with onther name rsrs
